Let's make biskits...I mean Fandubs!

Yeah I figured that it might just be possible! With so many people hating the english version so much, let's make our own! I thought about it a lot today and came up with some ideas, and I was thinking that maybe we can try making our own homemade english dub of an episode that isn't out in the US yet. I picked "Earth Erasure" the 2nd episode of Stream. Why? Barely any re-used footage, some kick ass fight scenes and plenty of Forte!

However, I obviously can NOT do this on my own, if anyone would like to help I need the following:

-Someone who can directly translate the lines of the episode we dub.
-Voice actors for every character in the episode.
-A Video editor that can mix in new music and the sound clips given by said voice actors.

I've seen a few people do fandubs of a few animes in the past, so why not try! It'll be a BIG project, but if anyone on here is willing to try and help out I think it could turn out great! However, if this violates a rule somehow, or if this is just illegal alltogether, then I sincerely apologize and you can lock this thread.

I wouldn't mind, but my voice isn't good. I'd be purely for dubbing purposes, and I don't even understand Japanese at that. Despite that, I would help if I could.

THere is a Yahoo Group called RockDub...we are desperatly hoping to have some help. It really isn't much now, and we need alot of help if we want it to get done.

I know it's against the rules to advertise...however, since this is a fanproject I don't think it will hurt anyone >>;

Ryouko and a few of the mods can translate Japanese, and plenty of you guys have made music videos before.

I'm interested in helping out. I could do a VA, if my voice is good enough. How are you going to determine who gets what role? I mean, for all we know, the people we use could be worse then the english actors. I mean in the sense that they are proffesionals, if only miscast.

Even so, sounds cool, though I've never done a voice over before. Would we be using direct translations from the original, or the english dub names? (Blues or Protoman?)

The English names, since it IS an english dub.

If you wanan try out, post a random voice clip of yourself imitatin the character(s) you wanna play.

My computer knowledge is in the negatives, so I'm going to have to ask around to find out how to do that.

And what are you talking about? I actually like the dub, despite what others may say. Some people just don't appreciate western entertainment.

Hey, Kirbopher, mind if I give a suggestion to all hopeful voice actors who want to try out? (I work in radio, so...)

And mikes are readily available. Just go to wally-world and you can get one for about ten bucks.

I'll help in any way I can. My current system can't really do anything, but once I upgrade sometime in the week or two, I might be able to help out with the video editing. Or maybe I could help out with the scripting by smoothing out the translations.

Sorry if I'm hurting more than I'm helping.

Yeah sure I'll have a go at it. I have a Mic so your in luck and I also (OMG) Voice act. :D (on a side note:Im going to voice act Amaroa(Big Eye brow guy) from FLCL in a fan FLCL thing a friend of mine is doing in flash.) So yeah, I can dedicate my time to this fun project.

BTW: About the video editor. I have two programs that can help you with that I guess.

1) Is a program (That came from my computer so it will most likely suck Xp) called Show-Biz and there is two slots of audio (for like 1 for voice and the other one for music)

And 2) I have a video converter. So if you need like a .WMV into a .AVI I can do that. It basically converts it to any type of video file. :D

So what do you say? Can I join? :D

ANYONE can join, the more people to contribute the better. Although it'd help if you had the episode we'll be doing. Once again, it's Stream episode 2 "Earth Erasure". BTW, anyone ahve any objections to the chosen episode?

I have all the episodes up to date.

I just reviewed Episode 2 again and it seems alright to do a fandub with it.
