Whily Sony may be getting more press coverage in the news, the Wii is getting far more advertisement in the local newspaper and store ads. While browsing through the latest, I saw plenty for the Wii, and absolutely zero for the PS3. Hmmn, I wonder if stores are a little bitter by the short supply. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. Maybe, but the ad thing is definitely true. Besides local ads, I've also only seen TV commercials for the Wii. _________________

I've seen like 3-4 different commercials for the Wii, and only 1 for the PS3, but the PS3 seems to get the most publicity. |

Yeah, paper ads dropped to nothing for PS3 now. Commercial wise, though, I'm still seeing more for PS3 than Wii. I know of the creepy baby, the rolling eggs moving with the controller, the rubic's cube playing itself, and the doves flying out of the wall and I see at least 2 of 'em every day. For Wii, as sad as it sounds, I really don't remember what games they were advertising. At least I think it was for games and not the system itself. Just some guy moving his Wiimote around with the nunchuck attached is all I remember, with the bowing i's in Wii at the end. But like any commercial, just depends when you're watchin'. There isn't always consistency to when certain ads run. Or Sony must be avoiding ads in Canada, by the sounds of things... _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

I dunno...
The most recent ad I've seen on TV is for the Wii, showcasing its bundled game, Wii Sports. There have been a few commercials for the PS3 recently, but nothing within the past...week or so. The Wii commercial was actually somewhat more recent.
Still, I can't say that we can draw a good conclusion from this unless we have a lot more data about when and where the commercials appear. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! On my end here in Kentucky, I seen more Wii commericals then PS3, the only PS3 commericals I seen was the Baby commerical with the Baby crying and going crazy, and then the one where the PS3 solves the rubic cube on it's own.
However for the Wii, I seen the commerical where the Japanese people come play with the Americans and ride off into the sunset, plus numberous Wii gaming commericals for Red Steel, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Call of Duty 3, and Cars....manily the Red Steel commerical which I laugh at because some strange reason it reminds me of Kung Pow: Enter the Fist........YOU SUCK! LMAO....i wanna play that game, LOL, but Gamespot's 5.6 rating kinda kills me going out and buying. _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

Has anyone played Excite Truck yet? I've seen the review on X-Play, and it looks like a good game for the family to play. And by family, I mean that the rest of my gaming family could play it with those family members who tend to jerk the controller around like a steering wheel when playing a racing game. Seeing as how the controls look like you do just that, it looks like a good buy for when we get together, like for the upcoming holiday season!
Oh, and as for the commercial thing from a Texan's T.V....
I don't see PS3 ads so much as ads for PS3 games nowadays. And, surprisingly, I'm seeing the same thing with the Wii. Maybe it's just because I've been mostly watching G4 the past few days, or something.
One more thing I've noticed. If the T.V. commercial advertises a game that's for both the PS3 and Xbox360, then they tend to show the Xbox logo more than the PS3 one, like for the new Sonic the Hedghog. Magazine ads, however, seem to be pretty even among the consoles. Maybe because they show all the systems it plays on, while T.V. ads only tend to use one. |

Hecxz: Red Steel isn't that bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's just not as good as they all said they would. As a FPS, it's decent. The level design actually reminds me a bit of Goldeneye and Nightfire. Though I say to wait until you can rent it.

I bought Red Steel on release day, as well as Zelda... I really like Red Steel, with the exception of the cut scenes which are a little too "cardboard cutout moved around the screen"... I also need more practice. That said, I'm going to wait until I finish Zelda before seriously tackling Red Steel. _________________

Yeah, it's sad for me, LOL, haven't even really started a game on Zelda: TP, because I been playing Megaman X Command Mission instead on my Wii and trying to beat it since I didn't beat it back when I got it on PS2 the first day it came out......im horrible huh? Im working my way to fighting Botos right now.
But one game that interestes me is DBZ: Budokai Techikachi 2, I saw some gameplay vids of people playing it and it looks cool, especially doing their special moves now, LOL, having to do the Kamehameha pose to do the Kamehameha, that's awesome! _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

I haven't played Zelda in a week, mainly beacuse my sister wants to be there when I play it. But she's been busy with work, I really can't progress any farther in it.

I reserved mine, but I reserved it too late, Wii is released the December 8th, I'll got it the December 15th (I have a 60€ reduction for selling my GameCube + 2 games)
I'll take Zelda, of course, and I'll wait for Pokémon Battle Revolution and Super Smash Bros Brawl (I'll also need a 2nd Wiimote and maybe a classic gamepad)
I can't wait, I want it so much XD |

as for ads, i haven't seen any at all on TV for the Wii. that sucks. the only PS3 ad i've seen is the one where teh PS3 is in a white room with the wall being blown out and stuff happens. the PS3 ends up floating at the end. it's pretty dumb. and annoying. _________________ just call me xfyre. not xfyrethespooky. |

Yeah. Best Buy says that the only reason that they don't advertise PS3's is because they're getting "surprise" shipments of them, and there isn't enough in the shipments to supply everyone who wants one with one, whereas they are getting constant shipments of Wii.

And...first update beyond the initial ones. Apparently it patches the Shop Channel so you can't use it to browse the internet? I'm not quite sure....but I updated. People are also saying they can't shut their systems off normally after this update so....do what you want to do. _________________

This is something worth seeing. How come we didn't get these cool warning labels like the Japanese did? Check it out as this person not only got the warning labels, but translated them for us so we could understand:
