Beast 8 torrent

I downloaded and started running the torrent for Beast 8 last night but Bittorrent still hasn't downloaded a single byte of the actual file all day.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what might be causing it or how to solve it?

Did you try redownloading the torrent file? I don't know for sure that it happened this time, but on a rare occasion, the initial torrent is slightly renamed in the number dealy part and won't work. It did happen to me before when I started one night, quit to go to bed, started to resume the next day and realized it was slightly renumberfied when nothing was downloading. Otherwise, I don't know. Everything worked fine for me this afternoon. Yes, yes, that's my technical jargon. :]

Sometimes, the torrent tracker likes to go up and down during times of the day, which could effect all downloads in progress. Besides that, it could be what RM just stated above.

Sol: I'd suspect something like that if it was just for an hour or two, but this complete lack of downloading has been all weekend.

Hum...perhaps it can be a firewall problem then? If certain ports are blocked off, Bittorrent can't download anything. Sadly, I don't know enough about it, but I think if you can unblock them, then it might help.

Do any other torrents work? There might be something funny with your ports. College campuses have a tendency to block the ports BitTorrent generally operates in.
