Really...then if I were to scan all of the 2nd chapter this weekend, then you would be able to provide clean scans ready for changing into English? If so, I'll think about a scanlation project.

I CAN get fairly clean scans. I think I'll be free tomorrow and over the weekend (though I'll probably get the second chapter by Saturday XD)

But what I really should do is get a summary up since that's a little quicker XD

I'm fine with that, I'm actually pretty much booked over the course of the weekend anyway, and to the fact that I got like, three other personal projects underway.

Urgh, I'm not used to Photoshop...my Fireworks doesn't have that greyscale option...

I'm fairly confident with my photoshop skills, depending on what you need done...and my class load next semester I might be able to assist? As far as I know, cleaning is...the removal of the Japanese? I can do word bubbles...but the...giant text? Like for sound effects and stuff? I can't do.

Sound effects are everywhere in Ryuusei, or at least chapter 2. Personally, I think we should just leave the sound affects alone. People can still get what's going on and those who can read kana/gana can consider themselves in for a bonus. :]

Cleaning isn't just the removal of the Japanese Text, but removing any 'dirt' that the scanner may have created. Making the gery areas soild and strengthing the black lines and what not.

We can leave the SFX be and add a translation off to the side of the frame.

Maybe I can get an example up...but my photoshop skills are **** compared to my fireworks one, although the programs are similar.

I downloaded a tutorial on how to clean mangas correctly, at well it's 15 pages long and covers everything on cleaning.

I'm trying it out on some jump scans,and >_< I keep overlleveling, and I haven't even touched the greys sections and the speech bubbles are killin' me.

Sketch, if you are willing to help it would make cleaning these much easier. But we need to see the quaility of the scans before we know what needs to be done.

Jump scans suck, the quaility is horrible, I don't know how they do it...

Some people get REAL high quality scans somewhere. The scans I usually give are scanned at 100%, but are shrunken by photobucket. I also take it directly from the book, but I can tear the pages out... maybe. I can just stick them back in later. If you want, I'll scan at 200 for raw translation projects... Just be ready for a full inbox. I can also scan in greyscale before editing, which usually brightens the background and darkens lines.

Just a heads up, if you want colored scans to be consistant, you're going to shop the colors back in. Scanners usually make glares in colored pages D:

Grayscale for the grayscale images are fine, we can always rework the coloured images.

I got a gmail accout that I never use, so I'm okay for space, it's just computer space I lack. D:

Okay, here's the deal.

I am currently uploading the entire 2nd chapter. You will find them on the front page of the Undersquare later tonight. I am going to try to start a scanlation group (though you will be working for the Undersquare if you join. It will become a sub-project, much like our EXE7, RPG, and the soon to come Navi Encyclopedia) I am looking for these.

-Cleaners (six to eight)
-Typesetters (four to six)
-Quality Checkers (one or two)
-Translators/Coordinators (As many as possible. Shooting for four)
-Alternate scan providers (just in case. Never can have too many of these.)

(In addition, I am going to need someone to provide the entire first chapter since I don't have it. This is a must.)

What do you guys think?

Note: If possible, spread the word about this as well. That way we can get a response to this. If enough people want this happen, I'll see to it that it does.

(I can't believe I tore about 17 double-sided pages out of my CoroCoro. OMG, I semi-killed a book!!! T_T)

I can be the backup, since I am kinda building something with all my Coro Coro XD I'm willing to bend it, but not tear. The most I can probably scan is medium quality, if that will be okay.

Now I just need the first chapter. Rokkuman said in this thread that he would do it. If he does, then we can start. :]

(I only just realized that the zip file I'm uploading has sideways scans. Blargh, I knew I forgot to do something while scanning~! XD)

I also just realized that I need to come up with something for the cover/credits image for each chapter. Maybe some cutesy artwork of Rockman and another character? (Harp Singer? Cygnus Wing? Ox Fire? Me? Someone else on the boards? XD)

Indeed. (btw, the manga scans are up on the front page of the Undersquare now, along with the scanlation recruiting.)

We have 15 of 34 the pages set for cleaning. We also have a few people willing to be typesetters and quality checkers. I am still in need of more translators. Please reply here or PM me if you are interested.

K, progress is looking good. All of chapter 2 has been cleaned and I'm awaiting chapter 1. We have typesetters and QC's ready and I've partially prepared a romaji script. All we need are some translators and we're as good as done.
