What's A DS?

Apparently I've been hearing about this new console system called the DS being talked about in some of the forums but I don't know what it is... Anyone can enlighten me?

You haven't heard of the DS...? Confused

It's Nintendo's new handheld console. It has two screens (whereas one of them has touchscreen), wireless multiplaying, stero speakers and a lot more. The only thing it doesn't have right now is good games. I'll post a picture of it soon... :puku:

EHHH? you haven't heard of the DS??? okay okay...the DS is the new gamboy nintendo came out with last november (in canada).

the ds ihas a double screen the top one were the main game play and a bottom touch screen were a map of menu is displayed, it has the newY,X buttons, it can play GBA and DS games, it has a built in clock and calander, it keeps track of your username, it's wireless, but you can't hook up for muliti-player for GBA games... if you want more info you go to the offical site

I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. It's very big around here.

The DS is NOT a game boy, it is a whole new system Nintendo made. It has 2 screens, and has it's own chat room. Weee!

Oh yeah, you can play GBA games on it, but sometimes it can slow the game down to freezing, as it acts like a GBA emulator.

Also, if you're thinking of getting one, it's probably best to wait a bit before buying. Japan just released different colored DS units so a local release of different colors shouldn't be a long way off.

I have to admit the DS is amazing but only for DS games. If you want to play GBA games I suggest you keep playing them on a GBA or SP.

Roll, do you mean you never had to charge your SP?

A DS, IMO, is like the Mother Lode : Roll as DS : Me. It's the best gaming system ever, a portable N64. I GigaByte of Memory, a rechargable battery, TWO screens, a touch screen, a mini-stereo, a microphone, 12 buttons, 2 game ports, smaller, less bulky game cards, and a sleek, stylish design.

Exactly what Razorman.EXE just said, and to add on a little bit more, the DS does not suck, it's totally sexy, thats why the PSP is getting taken off of the market.

DS will be great once better games come out. The PSP is great because of all the things it can do and better graphics, plus wireless network gameplay right out of the box. Im really excited about Nintendo's new Gameboy that is supposed to come out next year.
