Ryuusei Manga: Chapter 1 summary (El Spoileros)

ALRIGHTY. I finally got off my butt to do this (three hours of mah jong to get motivation... yikes...)

WARNINGS:

Spoilers, as usual.

MISTRANSLATION. As usual.

GENERALIZATION. I'm not going into detail because I am not too familiar with Ryuusei.

So we start off with a robbery in progress. The stereotypical unshaven, fat, robber with bad teeth holds a woman hostage with a knife. But the police aren't paying attention! In fact, neither is the hostage! She comments on a shooting star. The robber thinks they're all crazy or something, but he looks up, and sure enough, there's a giant shooting star. He laughs. Nothing to be scared about. But the shooting star redirects towards him. When the dust clears, there's a mysterious being kneeling. But the wolfish arm seems to be childish. It's Ryuusei no!!! ...Rockman. The man and the arm argue for a bit before they turn their attention to the robber. The robber tries to threaten them with the knife, but the wolf easily bites the blade off. And it goes off again. The robber runs away, making lemonade in his pants. There seems to be cheering for Rockman, but he tries to say he wasn't trying to be the hero. Unfortunately, they weren't "cheering". He looks back at the bank and sees an entire path of destruction! Oops. He apologizes and goes off on his way, toppling more buildings as he goes. But some little flame dude watches them from behind the crowd.

Switch to Hoshikawa Subaru (Subaru Hoshikawa). An invisible force tells him to look at the TV, and he puts on his Vision Laser. On the couch, Warrock is eating senbe (rice chips?), drinking tea, picking his nose, and farting all over the place (Yes, he is. Seriously, this is totally aimed at kids). Warrock spits on Subaru after seeing the TV, saying that they need to go out and do more hero stuff. I think. But Subaru tells him off. Warrock tries to get him to do it, but Subaru goes outside onto the roof to cry.

Flashback! Little Subaru goes to see his daddy who just got back from space. But his mom tells him to look at his face. ANd sure enough, his dad is picking his nose, farting all over the place. Subaru doesn't want to believe that this man is his father, but his father picks him up and tells him to believe in him. Back home, Subaru's playing with a toy spaceship, demanding his mom's attention like every other kid. Something seems to be wrong on the TV, and his mom suddenly grabs him, holding him tight. Subaru starts crying.

Subaru looks across the street at the giant TV conviently located on the building. He remembers that Warrock tried to show him something, but now that he had his Vision Laser on, he can see it! An FM Alien! Thing...

In the jail, the guard tells an inmate to let go of the bars, but something's going wrong! The burgler from earlier buffened up and bends himself free! Warrock watches this. Subaru rushes to location, angry at himself for not listening to Warrock. He gets into a crowd and seems it! The burgler with FM is beating the crap out of Warrock! He doesn't understand it, but then he realizes that Warrock is an FM himself. He was sent by Hoshikawa Daigo to watch over a boy. Or something something something like that. The FM Burgler continues to beat Warrock. Subaru starts to remember all the bad stuff, but Warrock suddenly screams to believe in him! Subaru clutches his chest as Warrock continues to lecture. He says to not believe in the head, but in the heart! The FM Burgler insults Warrock some more, because here comes... A wave of mets~

But before he even looks at it, Warrock spots a senbu chip and DIVES for it, getting out of the way of the wave of mets! Genius. Subaru appears on top of everything, scolds Warrock, and then offers his hand. Meanwhile, the burgler picked up a giant slab of concrete and throws it at them! Subaru and Warrock take hands and join. The rubble flies around, causing havoc, endangering a woman and her baby! But Ryuusei no Rockman comes and saves the day! Everyone is cheering now. The FM burgler comes up to attack, but Rock uses the Rockbuster to retaliate! Now everyone celebrates.

Back home, Subaru's really tired and slightly upset. In the toilet room, something's reading the newspaper while eating breakfast. Vision Laser on! Warrock comments on how they made the newspaper! End with an arguement.

Interesting. I thought the chapter would talk about how War Rock met Subaru and became Rockman for the first time. (The eye pieces are called as "Visualizer" btw.) :]

.... Jeez. XD I'd like to hope they don't go overboard with nose-picking, farting, burping, etc. stuff in the manga, but I guess that won't happen since this is intended for the little ones. Yippie. =P

Well, nevertheless, I shall collect the manga series. And thanks for the summary, Malik-Chan. =3
