With a heads up from the UnderSquare, we've received startling news that the Ryuusei no Rockman (MegaMan Star Force) anime has already been liscensed by Viz. This means an english version will be released sometime in the near future.
There is no word yet as to how many episodes that have aquired, or how they plan to air the 9 minute long episodes. Considering that this is the same company who released NT Warrior, we can probably count on the usual edits and name changes. However, only time will tell. _________________ "Cats are interesting. hmm...i only hope that they'll stick very close to the japanese dub and not rearrange episodes around or take them out completely like the NT Warrior anime. still, this is great news! ^_^ _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

... Does this mean no Stream? Or Beast and Beast+? T_T Sure, Stream was practically nothing but fillers, but it would've been nice to see it in English. ( Don't give me that look. Viz has been good to Naruto, right? XP )
Still, this is good/great/etc.! Wahoo! ^_^ _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

This is weird thought. I wonder how they would show these. Maybe two episodes at once? |

This is assuming that Viz will release Ryuusei on TV. What if there are only English DVD releases? We can't really shove that option aside...
Or, they could just fit it into a time-slot with another short show. Teletoon has a lot of them, so they might share or something. Maybe. _________________ Slur > j00

What's also a bit of a problem is that there are only like... 12-13 episodes of Ryusei right now. They would probably at least have to wait a year before they can start showing them on television. Especially if they're going to combine two episodes. _________________

There's still Stream. It might be dubbed before Ryuusei is dubbed . Maybe. _________________ Slur > j00

I doubt that. The only way I can see Stream receiving a dub now is if Viz has been secretly working on it this whole time. But their focus, like Capcom's, is obviously on Ryusei now.
And don't be so sure the Ryusei dub will receive the same treatment that EXE's did. When NT Warrior was formed, it was under the staff of just ShoPro Entertainment. The merger with Viz into Viz Media obviously had some kind of influence when Axess rolled around (getting away with a lot more content, and dubbing all 51 episodes (I'm still not convinced Viz skipped 5 episodes themselves; I think Kids' WB skipped them)). Plus, Viz Media (and even ShoPro) have pretty good track records on some other anime (like as previously mentioned, Naruto, which isn't even on a late-night block like Bleach or Inuyasha are).
Plus, don't forget that NT Warrior ended up the way it did largely in part to Kids' WB, which discarded most of its anime after the WB became the CW (including Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh). This means that Star Force will probably be airing on a different network, most likely Cartoon Network, with much different (and basically more lenient) broadcast rules.
And in comparison to EXE, Ryusei seems a lot more light-hearted and less-serious, so there's a lot less content that needs editted or cut, especially considering the already-minuscule episode length.
So let's not panic so early, guys... _________________

It will most likely be on Toonami Jetstream. It'd work, actually. That way it wouldn't really matter what the length of the episode is if they show it online. As far as DVDs go, they still have all of Axess to go through, and I haven't seen how big the sales've gone for the Season 1 & 2 DVDs, so for all I it could be just a waste of money for them.
It seemed like Stream was being perfectly set-up for, and it even would've fit perfectly on Toonami Jetstream, but I'm actually not too surprised that they're going this route. The game'll be out here relatively soon, and they gotta promote what's hot, not what's BEEN out for a few years now.
I think they MIGHT be a bit more faithful with this series, too. Not simply because of how they've handled Bleach and Naruto (that certainly does help), but it seems like the promotional material is still reffering to Subaru Hoshikawa by his Japanese name, and "Warlock" is only because we've obviously had "Megaman" here instead, so that pun won't work.
Like Seiko said, with all of those mentioned factors combined, it seems a lot more likely that Star Force will be given a lot nicer treatment than its EXE counterpart. Between things like this, One Piece being dropped, Naruto being ALMOST 100% uncut on Toonami anyway and such-such, I think things are really changing for how anime is being handled over here in general. The companies have certainly shown to be LISTENING to what we say in this day and age. |

Well if the main source seems to be NATPE then it is safe to assume that they will be aired on Tv since NATPE is something like the National Association of Television Programming Executives. I believe that Television Progamming implies that they might be planning on airing it on tv, and not a straight to DVD release.
However it is to early to tell right now. Though the initial rumors were that Stream was going to air on JetStream, maybe they heard about Ryuusei, and decided to have Ryuusei air on JetStream? Since I do believe that JetStream can be regulated by TV Programming standards, since it is basically a TV Channel, that is on the internet instead of on the TV. _________________ I didn't lose my mind, I sold it on eBay!

I'm really interested in the fact that, if they DO plan to air it on TV, which channel would it be? Kids WB is now non-existant, so that's out the window. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw it jump over to the Cartoon Network instead. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. I have a good idea but they'd have to show stream and beast first.
They could show Beast+ with Ryusei on tv. But of course, they'd have to show the first two series. |

Kids' WB isn't non-existent. It only airs on Saturday mornings now. But, for some reason, most of the anime programming was either discarded or moved on its own (Pokémon, Viewtiful Joe, Yu-Gi-Oh, MegaMan). The only anime left was Spider Riders, but it was apparently taken off the air after only 11 episodes. I don't know if Kids' WB has turned anti-anime to make room for more "American" programming or what, but Viz would be stupid to not recognize that putting MegaMan back on that programming block would be suicide...
And since MegaMan doesn't have a home now, Viz has been in a bit of a pickle... which is probably why we didn't see Stream (which I'm sure was planned or even worked on), and is probably why the next wave of merchandise didn't come out either... And now with EXE over, Viz missed their window to milk the franchise with another 102 EXE episodes and a feature-film. So, case and point, Kids' WB is probably to blame... again... And I think Viz recognizes that now. _________________

-_-;
Well nice to see that they're just gonna leave us with Miss Yuri standing on a bridge saying "so one chapter ends and another one begins..." and then they leave us hanging and pick it up with Megaman starforce. psh.
You know they actually did a good job on the final episodes of Megaman axess, Stream wouldn't have been so bad, but alas, they're just gonna pick it up with a whole new Megaman. Well fine by me... We'll see...

Actually that fits in a way. The chapter of Lan and Megaman end, and the one of Subaru and War Rock begin.
But yeah, it is a bit disappointing that we won't see a dub of Stream, as it doesn't look like it'll be subbed anytime soon. Oh well. I hope that it'll be shown on Jetstream, as having no cable would screw me over if it aired only on CN. Ah, we'll see. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Is there any word of Ape Escape also being dubbed along with it as well? Just to make the 30 minute time period. _________________

I wont say anything about this bad about this news, just I hope this time around Viz will be smart and actually keep this series intact story and character wise. Here's hoping for late 2007 _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

Well, while this likely does plug a hole in the chance for Stream, Beast and Beast+ Dubs we could always be surprised. Personally my only real interest was to see how Nenji turned out in the dub (yes I am shameless).
I can't see as many name changes, or at least ridiculous ones in Ryuusei for the FM Seijin and Denpa Ningen, since they're named after constellations. It would be somewhat silly to change that as it would lose a lot of the "Star" references in "Starforce". Some changes are inevitable (I'm betting Subaru gets changed for sure) but I don't think we'll see the likes of Heavymetalman or Spoutman, at least I hope. :/ _________________
