Rockman or Dark Rockman? (Spoilers)

Which one do you prefer, Rockman or Dark Rockman?

For me, i prefer Dark Rockman, because :
1. He is so cool and evil
2. Full with Dark Aura
3. Intelligent and strategic
4. Cruel and strong

Hmm... Rock or Dark Rock?

I choose Dark Rock because...

-He's so evil.>XD
-He's hawt.
-I just love his evil grin. It may freak you guys out, but I love it.
-He made such a great villian. Although he bit the dust in the end, I still love him.<3
-Who doesn't love a character that's evil but still looks cute to them?

That's my opinion. :D Dark Rock rules all.>XD (Except he's second to Trill ^_^ )

I like them both, but Dark Rockman will always have a special place in my heart.

The reasons you stated Fortex are very good ones, but the main reason I like him so much is because we got a glimpse of a different side within him during Stream. Although he definitely acted evil, he never came across to me as a maniac or a completely emotionless monster. I always had the feeling ever since he made his first appearance that there was something about him, but I didn't exactly know what.

Later on in the Stream series, although somewhat unexpected we saw that Dark Rockman has emotions as well. With unexpected I mean that it would have been better if he had a bigger role and more screentime to develop his character. Episode 49 of Stream is most likely one of my most favorite episodes of the series. Dark Rockman felt lonely and (I am not sure) was jealous on Rockman because of the bond he had with Netto.
His conversation with Dr. Regal as well as has his facial expressions during those scenes really made him one of my most favorite characters. The battle that followed between Rockman and Dark Rockman was very emotional and exciting yet the real climax came later. You could really see the happiness in his face when he was about to merge with Duo, unfortunately only to be stopped and stabbed in the back by the powerful Slur. His sacrifice in the end was unexpected, but I believe he did this without any selfish reason and also showing that he is a part of Rockman; Filled with courage, never giving up. But it where his last words "Go back Rockman, to where Netto-kun is" (He even said Netto-kun), that really made an impression on me.

He is a great character for me because although he is evil (but not entirely), there is a different side that really showed in the last episodes. Still, IMHO he could have used more character development because at this stage, he was nothing really more then a pawn used by Dr. Regal. I silently hoped Dark Rockman would have succeeded in taking over Duo's power and that he would have become the final boss or that he would have his own secret plan unknown to Dr. Regal.

Amazing how many Dark Rock fans are out there. Finally some love and respect for a character who so badly needs them! <3

I love Dark Rockman-sama because no one else in the series did. Beneath that harsh, cold surface, he really was just lonely.

More importantly, I love him because the series neglected him. He was a character with room for so much potential (such as Chaos Unison), but he only engaged in physical battle twice (episodes 47 and 49).

As JH24 before me said, Dark Rockman was a villian, but not the typical villian. As his end drew nigh, he began showing more personality, and I personally felt that he deserved so much more than being a simple pawn. He seemed more alive than any of Regal's other minions, and his demise was appropriately emotional, though unfitting for one who deserved so much more.

To add to the discussion, I felt that the anime version of Dark Rockman was as much the very same being as the original Rockman. Thus it's rather difficult for me to choose a favourite. I hated Dark Rockman for what he did to Netto when he first appeared (tricking him into thinking he was the original Rockman), but in the end, when he sacrificed himself against Slur in order to SAVE Rockman (though one could argue he would have detonated himself anyways just cause he hated the biznatch), you gained a new respect for him.

In all, Dark Rockman made an excellent villain, and was probably one of the saving points of Stream. The series definately benefited from the addition of his storyline. Not to mention all the fans would have thrown a fit if we only ever got to see a Dark Blues (who lasted 20 something episodes), but never a Dark Rockman. XD

I'm going to be a weirdo and say I perfer Rockman. Rockman is just so... I dunno, sweet and still totally butt kicking when he has to be. I like the fact that he shows all range of emotions, angry, happy, sad etc. whereas Dark Rockman shows... er... sadistic XD

Okay not really but Dark Rockman is hard to portray as a 'cheerful' navi. Which is probably why I would choose Rockman in this case.

I prefer Rock as well; he's a sweetheart and though I do like his dark side quite a bit, the original has always been my favourite character. ^^

I'll attest to that, though Dark Rock...well...he is certainly a character on his own.

The arc devoted to him made him come to life--made him more than the mere opposite side of the coin. The depth that he was presented in the anime made him feel like a separate entity in his own, and it did a very good job of making the distinction between light and dark a lot more nebulous than many viewers thought of at first.

Ryo brings up a rather salient point--the sacrifice makes him seem a lot more personified. The game is not so distinct about this, though Dark Rock has some character points going for him, and the manga is even worse--I feel Dark Rock in the manga has a rather shallow character.

On the other hand, Rock himself is quite personified. Neko knows, and I agree, that he...really embodies a lot of characteristics, and the fact that he is so dynamic with his persona and emotions makes him seem that much more realistic.

So why pick? Both are great characters. Still, I'd have to give the nod to Rock in this one.

Haha, I love the manga's Dark Rock. Flippin' insane. Just the way I like my evil peoples.

I actually have sort of a love for both Rockmans. Dark and Light.

It's hard to explain...they're both such great characters. Rockman for being...well, versatile. He's got a sweet side and a serious side. He's caring, and he isn't afraid to stand up for what's right.

Dark Rockman's just outright insane. I didn't watch too much of Stream, but read the manga (for the parts he was in...not sure if there was anything of him past Volume 9...or whatever volume it was that he died in...) I mean, he ended up flippin' absorbin' his comrades too! INSANE!

Now I feel I haven't given Rockman enough credit. He is also one of my favorite characters. Like other posters said before me, he has a versatile personality and displays a lot of different characteristics. He can be serious one time, but joking or playful just a few moments later. He can really fight with everything he has in battle and be friendly and kind to others later on. (I especially liked a certain scene in Beast+, [spoil:7cd9acb55f]in one of the later episodes he fights with Zero who wanted to get a present for Gutsman. After the fight he understood what Zero intended and the moment he extended his hand in friendship really shows how friendly, good-hearted and a special navi he is)[/spoil:7cd9acb55f]

Just like Dark Rockman is special, Rockman is special to me as well. In the end they are both great characters, each in their own way.

I'd have to say I like Dark Rockman, though Rockman isn't very far behind him. I like him for pretty much the same reasons as everyone else. He's adorable, he's sarcastic and evil, and he's just lonely. And I nearly cried at the end.

Rockman's too happy for me. I need angst!

Uhm, here are some of my opinions of Dark Rock, since he is my dark-hero of my heart, hehehe...

In game :
1. He is many many times more powerful
2. He can use same chips as we have and can use any class of chips at a quick sequential
3. His Chaos Unison COULD be a real helper

In anime :
Just like everyone had said. After i watch the episode, i cried, hikshikshiks, and i don't know what to say anymore

In Manga :
He is totally insane, evil, brutal. I somehow scared of him knows that in manga, he is totally dark and somewhat... yeah, crazy.

But i always adore my Dark Rockman. XDDDDDDDDD

Okay, DS Rockman (from the manga) is nothing short of insane: a power-hungry psycho who has no qualm about going canibal and eating his own ally if things go badly, but still I can't help thinking that maybe if you can convince him not to kill and/or eat you, he would be very interesting to talk to.

Always gotta love the dark characters. Why? Attitude. Bad guys always have a way of coming up with some perfect diss.

Manga Dark Rock is absolutely NUTS, but he's still got the attitude. Gotta love his tongue face...

I don't hate either of them, but I prefer the original Rockman. Dark Rockman is too creepy for my type, although he's really clever and cool.
