...Well, I just learned something new. xD I'm never gonna as for any swimwear fabric.
If Ryouko is cosplaying for Beast Out Greiga, I wonder who would cosplay as Beast Out Falzer...? >.< I want to see how your cosplay would turn out. x3 _________________

I would actually use a thin fabric and wire for that. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Random thought: My friend told me that one could also get awesome cosplay material from *snrk* sex-costume shops!
But seriously. Apparently, they do give good material, for more than just "play" XD
Thanks for the tip! o3o didn't know it was called swimwear fabric...huh...
Anyway.
o_O Just shooting this out there, what would be considered the worst material for one's cosplay? I don't mean weapons, peacebonding-issue is a given xD Guess that'd be a question for all =w= _________________ http://ijuinenzan.deviantart.com

I have no desire to mess with a costume that has large wings. It was hard enough with Harpuia trying not to hit anyone with my helmet. If someone DID do a Falzer with me, man that would be sweet. XD But I'm not holding my breath. People are calling me crazy just for doing Greiga.
Mav: Get a wig, unless you want to dye your hair stark white. You can easily dye the black parts on a short white wig, simply by coloring the strands with a blank permanant marker. You can wash the wig gently in water afterwards, and it'll get rid of the ink smell. Works out great.
UlandenIE: That's kind of funny, cause I get some of my stuff from a local store called Electric Boutique. A friend of mine and I who call it the "whore store", cause it's where a lot of uh...questionable people go. But they have awesome stuff, I can often find my wigs and gloves of all colors there. It's always much cheaper to shop locally and not have to pay for shipping.
As for the worst material...I never advise people to work with satin or silk, unless you absolutely have to. Satin photographs horribly (reflects the flash), and silk can be ruined -so- easily. Spandex is a pain in the arse to work with sometimes, but I like using it best with covering foam. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. I gave it consideration, but I'm afraid it would just be hell to transport, and mailing it from here would ultimately end in its expensive destruction. ^^;; _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

I wouldn't think Toma would be too difficult to transport. Especially if the headdress feathers are flexible. Remember, it is possible to make some things detachable as well.
Today's update is short, but I do complete my helmet! For today, I went out and bought a very large sinker weight found in the fishing department at wal-mart. This I taped into the inside of the new frontal part of my helmet. This way, the front half becomes much more equal in weight distribution to the back half. After it's securely taped, I build in around it with the top and bottom halfs of the frontal section.
And now, it's time to try it out! I noticed right away when I put it on that it can still sway side to side, but that can easily be fixed by putting foam in the inside to stablize it. The front to back fit is perfect though, so I'm all good there. I had to remake my Harpuia helmet all over again cause I accidently judged THAT wrong. You learn from your mistakes rather quickly. n.n;
Even though it looks like it obscures my vision rather badly, I can see perfectly well out of this thing. Not too heavy, either! So far so good. I'll be adding the star on top to it once I get the base paper mached and painted. That way I can make it with more detail seperately.
I went out and bought a good deal of my foam today - the new fabric store sells it in large sheets now. I got one sheet of 1/2 inch foam, and a half sheet of 1 inch foam. Should be good!
The next phase of this project will be paper maching this thing. Not really looking forward to that. XD *hates messy hands with GLUE* _________________ "Cats are interesting. I've been checking in on this topic every so often...and damn. That helmet looks really well done. Make me want to try my hand at cosplaying. Maybe next year though. Too much stuff to do this year. :<
Hope I get a good hotel and see ya at Otakon, Greiga Ryou o/~ _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

The helmet looks like it is shaping out very nicely, Ryouko! congrats. :D If I cosplayed, I would probably do Daisuke because I look almost exactly like him. (If you see someone who looks like Daisuke running around an amusement park with a Rockman shirt, you can be almost certain it's me. ^_^ ) _________________ Stop looking at my sig. Stop it. Stop it. 8D Working a little everyday I see 8o
Are you using a glue gun to attach all the armoire to the spandex? =w= that sounds troublesome xD
Wheeee a Dark Blues cosplay just requires getting the armor over your head. I feel so cheap =w= _________________ http://ijuinenzan.deviantart.com

Nice Ryouko! This is like the Halo costume I saw the other day.
Man I wish I could make something like that, But I'd probably chop my finger off in the process . Where are you going to wear this? at a convention?
or on a casual evening walking your dog? _________________ I hate my hormones.................. |

I approve of this. PICCURS PLZ, KTHX. ^_^

2 more rather simple questions:
1. How do you do about doing the paper mache? Just water, glue, and newspaper? (haven't done it since elementary school x.x )
2. Which paints would you recommend using? _________________

Chase: Yes, I'm going to to the mask. :3 It will be seperate from the helmet though, and most likely fabric, so I can, you know...breathe.
Musashi: I will be wearing this to A-kon (Dallas, TX) and Otakon for sure. Possibly AnimeFEST as well.
Dingo: I use 2/3rds wood glue and 1/3rd water for my paper mache mix, along with white computer paper. I only use Acyrlics when painting my armor. :3 _________________ "Cats are interesting.
