Ryuusei no Rockman ep.16 (two spoilers for me, none for you)

First post again! Yay me!

Anyways, on with the ep.

Same tired old intro, three satellites, Subaru becomes Rockman, blah blah blah........

Then we go into an interesting flashback. Seems Tsukasa was almost killed in a traffic accident, but was saved by Gemini. I couldn't understand the whole conversation, but from what I could gather, I'm guessing they fed on the anger that Tsukasa felt when he was abandoned by the crowd, and performed a Denpa Henkan with him so he could get his revenge.

Flash forward to a conversation between Subaru and WarRock, who for some reason is floating around the room instead of in the Transer. Speaking of the Transer, this is the first time in the anime that we see it removed from the wrist holder. By itself, the Transer is only a bit wider than an old-style Nintendo DS. Why they made the wrist holder so bulky, I don't know.

Oh, wait. I do know. It's so they can make an improved model Transer in future Ryuusei games.

Anywho, next Subaru is watching TV with his mom, and notices some weird crap going down. First, a fight breaks out at a baseball stadium, then a newscaster starts laughing his ass off while fangasming over Misora-chan. Then, back at the ball game, the reporter decided to kick some ass, too.

But it's nice to see that the DNN netowork is still around, even though Midorikawa Kero-chan has long since passed on.

It doesn't take Subaru long to figure out that Gemini Spark is behind the shenanigans, and decided to go do the Superman thing. But there's a but of an argument between him and WarRock, which I couldn't understand.

Meanwhile, more crazy crap happens in the city, and Goyoda heads out to try to deal with it, but is stopped in his tracks by a freaking TANK!

Just when Goyoda's about to be reduced by one dimension, Rockman shows up and saves him and the the crazy guy driving the tank. Guess they settled their argument quicker then I thought.

After stashing them in a safe place, Rock heads off to the Wave Road to throw down with the Doublemint Twins. Another interesting point is that this is the first time that he uses two battle cards at once. Also, we see that he can equip weapons on both arms, just like the old-fashioned EXE Rockman.

And the episode ends RIGHT WHEN THE FIGHT STARTS! AAAAAGH! I HATE CLIFFANGERS AT THE END OF EPISODES!

But other then that last complaint, another good episode.

Will Rockman defeat the evil Gemini Spark and restore sanity to the city? Tune in next week, same Denpa time, same Denpa channel!

This eppy made me laugh more than a few times, especially with the random nonsense. If only fights broke out in real-life games over wild pitches nowhere near the guy. And poor Goyoda should've been as good as dead with all he had to deal with. Psycho tank guy was awesome. Apparently, either Gemini caused DNN's teleprompter to go down, or newscasters only read the news staring down at their scripts in the future. Oh well, that newscaster probably got fired after his Misora crush was revealed over the air. I'm glad they're stretching Gemini's introduction out over a few episodes and hope the fight next week turns out to be a good one. Definitely an enjoyable episode.

*waiting to see if there's more Seiko vs. DrkX future episode mind-reading one-upmanship to be continued yet another week*

That news thing is on DNN. Kind of surprising.
Hey, double predation. That's new.
So this is a three parter right? What's next?

Btw, Futaba Tsukasa accepts Gemini because (spoiler bits from the game) [spoil:4991b2c15f]he was abandoned at birth and thus has nobody else. Gemini takes interest in him because of his split personalities, causing the two to have matching wave lengths. According to the games, the split personality disorder was a result of Tsukasa's abandoning, causing him to develop as an "incomplete" child.[/spoil:4991b2c15f]

And I doubt Gemini Spark will actually be defeated rather than merely thwarted. Upon careful reading of the ending of the game, it is revealed that [spoil:4991b2c15f]Gemini is the big bad guy of the game, not Cepheus the FM king.[/spoil:4991b2c15f]

Um, DrkX, just a thought.
Maybe you should label the first spoiler to say it's from the game.
Right now it's "just because" Laughing

Anyways, I liked that this episode was mostly talk. We got to see that Subaru really wants to help people out, as Rockman or not.

Also, the trust issues between Subaru and WarRock are coming to a head.
If I were Subaru I'd prefer WarRock come clean. If I'm to risk my neck over the Andromeda Key, I'd definitely want to know if it's something that can threaten my planet or just some piece of intergalactic underwear that WarRock stole from somebody's clothesline. -.-

That was, IMO, the funniest episode yet!

First, the Lt. Surge lookalike was awesome! Though I expected him to have something more powerful than fireworks in his tank. I was reminded of a dublike edit there. Subaru's strat of using his beast hand to scare the guy was a nice touch.

Next, the TV. The reporter cheerfully running off, throwing his tie, to join in the brawl was highly amusing. On the other hand, that anchorman isn't going to be too pleased when this is all over. Akane didn't seem too disappointed about the televised carnage though. Heh.

On a more serious note, since the meeting of Tsukasa and Gemini was never shown in the game, I wonder if the rest of his past will be the same, [spoil:a42f6af06b]with him being abandoned as an infant in the Draem Island Scrap Yard and all. [/spoil:a42f6af06b]Since he is this anime's green haired, androgynous, agsty character, there'll probably be a lot more on him later on.

So, good episode, even that damn intro couldn't dampen it. Next ep should be awesome, but if the fight is all stills again like in 15, I'll be rather irate.

Oh yeah, Tsukasa's seiyuu, Yuki Kaida, was also the seiyuu for Dark Kirisaki in Beast.

Hopefully next week we'll get a 2 on 2 battle next week with Harp Note! ^_^ Doesn't change that Misora didn't show up at ALL around the story, and maybe next week she helps Subaru out? :1 Yay to character development, eh? Anyway...

Plot's advancing, but still no [spoil:2290d54c1a]Ophicious queen[/spoil:2290d54c1a]. Thinking back at things on the game, in that scenario, [spoil:2290d54c1a]after Rockman rescues Luna, they both go back to the real world and she finds out about Rockman's real identity...[/spoil:2290d54c1a] maybe they want to posticipate that part so to get a smoother plot for the end of the story?
