Continuing from the last part Gemini Spark B&W attacked Rockman with two ElectroSwords while Subaru pared it with two swords of his own. Then GeminiSpark B appears behind Subaru and attacks, but Subaru dodges only to have GeminiSpark W attack him from behind. Both attack but Rockman dodges again and retreats. Heiji-keibu is thinking about Rockman saving him. Meanwhile Subaru trys to retreat only to have the duo attack him again. When GeminiSpark W attack however he dodges and jumps off his back. Warrock tells Subaru to cut open the truck with the viruses. Which he does attacking the duo with the viruses. GeminiSpark B and Rockman fight right behind Misora's manager who is pretty much doesn't noticed espically when Spark's sword almost hits him. After a failed attack GeminiSpark B cuts Rockman's sword. Then, the duo attacks him with their main attack GeminiThunder, Subaru trys to stop it with a Machinegun(Vulcan) only to fail. After waving to ocean Subaru falls in with the twins behind him. Apparently the twins can illumate. They find Subaru only for it two be that leaf Anti damage like thing While Subaru attacks with a Wide Sword then Rockbuster. The twins try to escape by waving away only to find out they can't. Warrock then explains it. Subaru attacks with a bomb and Long sword. The bomb hits but they stop the sword. Then, they attack with GeminiThunder and since there in water it doubles. Subaru gets out of the water only to barely awake. The Sprk twins come to finish him off while Warrock begs Subaru to get up. Then, singing her hit single Heart Wave comes Misora(literaly). While the Gemin twins talk about HarpNote, Subaru starts to get up. They go over to attack Subaru when HarpNote attacks with Machine String. Finishing her song Subaru uses a step-sword like card to attack. GeminiSpark, and HarpNote leave, but the twins talk to Subaru. Subaru says something about HarpNote.
Overall I liked the episode. What caught me off guard was Misora sing the title theme(I thought it was an insert song at first) _________________

I'm fairly sure there will be a Protoman-like figure in one of the next Ryuusei no Rockman games. Harp Note is more of a sidekick and a love-friend like Roll was to Rockman than a rival like Blues.
But still Misora in action kicks some serious butt. She's less of a damsel in distress like Roll was always pictured in the previous games and more of a conceptually-cool character. :D
Fighting in this eppy was good. Not on the levels of the first episodes, but a step up from some previous episodes. They're slowly getting back in a good fighting pace.
One thing bothers me. Harp Note looks far less cute in the anime than she did in the game They oughta draw her better or I'll be ticked. _________________ SPOILER:

Wow, a very good and exciting episode to watch, the animation was great and the battle scenes pretty intense. I got the feeling they were really planning to kill Subaru/Rockman and without Harp Note he would have been most likely defeated.
The appearance of Harp Note was great although I didn't expect the song, a very good combination though. I really like this Gemini FM, besides Cygnus my newest and most favorite villain in Ryusei.
I understand Subaru had to release the viruses in order to distract one of the twins but I still feel a bit sorry as I got the impression Inspector Goyoda was finally warming up towards Rockman (I could be wrong as I don't understand Japanese), he even smiled a bit when talking about him. Looking at how angry Goyoda became after Rockman's release of the viruses I guess we are back at where we started, I doubt Goyoda will trust Rockman anytime soon again.
Great episode, some very nice scenes although there were a few 'Stream-like' sequences it definitely kept me on the edge of my chair. I also like the final scene of the episode where Subaru talks to Tsukasa. Subaru is kind and friendly but we quickly see that Tsukasa was only pretending, as soon as he is out of Subaru's sight an evil grin appears. I can't wait to see how this particular storyline will evolve. _________________ This great avatar is made by Synchro-kun. Thank you! |

Not much for me in terms of story for this episode, since IMO, the battle itself was the main focus.
It started off a wee bit slow, with Rockman spending a good bit of time dodging and running from Gemini Spark's attacks. But it quickly started to pick up, with Rockman using a whole mess of Battle Cards that haven't seen in the anime yet. I especially liked the Yo-Yo-type card that kinda looked like an energy buzz saw. That one ruled, as did that big-ass bomb card.
Oh, and did anyone catch the bit with Misora-chan's manager stressing out over his Transer phone, and TOTALLY oblivious to the Wave Battle going on RIGHT BEHIND HIM?!
Speaking of cards, did anyone notice that the Long Sword Battle Card looks EXACTLY like the Paladin Sword Battle Chip?
This ep did raise one major question for me about Wave Battles, after seeing Rockman getting his arse handed to him.
As we know, in the EXE series, when a NetNavi takes critical damage (whether it's in the Cyberworld or during Cross Fusion), he or she is forced to Plug-Out and return to their PET. And in Ryuusei, whenever Rockman defeats an FM Seijin, he or she is forced to Wave Out (or as I like to call it, going Off Air) and either retreat to a distance or return to their Transer. However, in this fight, Rockman was taking far more damage than he inflicted on any of his previous opponents, yet they were still fused. (WarRock seemed okay, but Subaru was in bad shape).
This begs three questions:
1. How come they were still fused after all that time? Was WarRock protecting Subaru or something?
2. If an FM Seijin fused with a human takes a fatal injury and is deleted, will it kill the human they're fused with as well?
3. If an FM Seijin is forced to Wave Out while still on the Wave Road, what would happen to the human they were fused with?
And yes, I too was ecstatic when Misora-chan, A.K.A. Harp Note, showed up at the last minute, singing the OP theme right before she jumped in to save Subaru. Which is kinda ironic, since almost everyone in the post for last week's ep was either predicting or hoping that she would show up to help. But I'm wondering how she managed to get so powerful. She got walloped by Rockman last time they fought, but this time, she managed to drive off an enemy that even Rockman couldn't beat.
IMO, this was the best episode ever, at least in terms of Wave Battles, anyway.
And I'm STILL waiting for Ophiuchus Queen to show up! But, it seems we'll have to wait until after Cancer Bubble makes his debut. *sigh* _________________

I know not really much about the series so I guess I shouldn't try to answer your very good questions, but I wanted to give it a try, sharing my (most likely totally wrong) ideas.
1. Subaru/Rockman had to endure quite a lot in this battle especially at the last moments. It could be that Warrock was indeed protecting Subaru because if Warrock would end the fusion now Subaru's body wouldn't be able to deal with the pain and attacks it had to endure before. I guess while staying in the fusion the effects on Subaru's body are being lessened and maybe even healed by Warrock.
2. I guess it would indeed be the end of the human if a fatal injury, to the extend a FM wouldn't be able to heal it anymore, was inflicted upon them. On the other hand, although it is maybe not entirely the same, I believe when a human fused with a virus a few episodes back the virus was deleted and the human came back again. I am not sure though.
3. I think the human would fall to his death in that case, if the height was considerable, it is more a speculation from my part though.
I am sorry, I am most likely very wrong but I just wanted to share my thoughts on this so far and try to speculate and think about the Ryusei world and it's rules. _________________ This great avatar is made by Synchro-kun. Thank you! |

This episode was like pizza flavored Cheetos. It takes a bite or two to get used to 'em, but once you do, the bag consumes you as you inhale those Cheetos, and then comes the weird aftertaste when you're done.
It was an exciting episode to watch when it really began to pick up, but the ending was kinda lackluster. The episode was about lots of somewhat mindless action, with Subaru getting his ass handed to him on a garish silver platter of pain, and then Misora ends it with a song, a single Machine Gun String, and some talking.
I'm assuming Harp Note is going to appear at least somewhat more regularly now, at least, so I suppose that might be a plus. I get the feeling that the dynamic between Rockman and Harp Note is going to be akin to Blues.EXE and Roll.EXE all rolled into one for Rockman.EXE, but that's yet to be proven. _________________ *placeholder* |

She didn't really. She just prevented Gemini from finishing Rockman off when they knocked him down, and Rockman sneak attacked them while they were wondering whose side she was on. She ran off just as quickly. In fact I don't think she made it clear why she helped him. She might have just wanted to fight Rockman herself.
Although her singing the theme song was interesting I would have prefered that little theme song she had when she first appeared in episode 9. I like the strum intro though. I does remind me of Blues and his whistle. |

1. I agree with the healing theory here. Like in ZX, WarRock does the same job of the Live Metals, gives you powers and strenght but when you take damage, your BODY gets the damage. WarRock tries to protect him from damage with the "Rockman henshin" and heals him if he takes damage. WarRock could've just out-fused and tried to protect Subaru himself but that wouldn't have worked. WarRock would've been too weak against the twins, and it would've put Subaru in great danger too, lacking the "Rockman henshin" protection.
2. I think since the human is turned into radio waves as well as the FM, if he gets deleted, the body dies alongside too since the body gets "deleted" in the process too. Still because the FM would take critical damage he couldn't be able to substain, so the protection would break and the body which is already taking damage, is no longer being healed and will die for the hit. Maybe in the virus episode, Rockman just damaged the virus enough to make it run away from the henshin. Or maybe, being it a different kind of being than a FM, when fused and if deleted, the virus is deleted only. Or maybe since a virus is no way as strong as an FM, you don't need to attack it as powerfully as you would against an FM, so maybe the human would survive after the hit anyway? Also, as it's shown, I think the human has no power to return to normal, the FM alone can rever the henshin.
3. I agree on the falling down theory. When on the wave road, you're made of radio waves. Undo the henshin, you return back to matter, and since the wave road is made of thin air... last that I checked you can't walk on thin air. And so you'd just fall down (to your demise). _________________ SPOILER:

I have to admit that the battling in this episode was very fun (Takahashi Akira has a way with interesting battles), and I loved that they went underwater (for reasons I can't really describe or understand myself), but I was very disappointed by how little Harp Note actually did in this episode. The Gemini Spark duo were very intense and merciless against Rockman, and then, Harp Note sings a little bit, Rockman gets in an easy hit, and it's over? Harp Note doesn't even linger to talk. 'Tis a shame.
On another note, if it weren't for the fate of Gemini, I'd say Tsukasa is a good candidate for the role of Enzan in Ryusei, though moreso in personality than actions. _________________

1. I don't think so. I think WarRock was genuinely helpless at that point. I think the only reason Subaru didn't "Wave Out" was because of the sheer determination to keep fighting, even though he was unconscious. I mean, just look at how determined he was to put a stop to Gemini Spark in the last episode. I doubt any of that fervor waned in this episode.
My reason for this theory is that sometimes this phonmena ocurss in real life. If a person who passes out and is holding onto something tight enough at the point of unconsciouness, his muscles will lock around that object, and it'll be practically impossible to remove said object wihout breaking that person's fingers. I think the same applies to Subaru, only in this case, that "object" would be the Denpa Henkan. And since my theory is that WarRock yields to Subaru during Denpa Henkan, WarRock is helpless to do anything but yell when Subaru passes out.
Furthermore, I don't think staying fused with Subaru would do him any good. If WarRock really wanted to protect Subaru (which I have no doubt he does), and had the power to do so, he probably would've "Waved Out" himself, since it's WarRock Gemini Spark is after, not Subaru.
2. And while I think that damage to a Human is lessened during Denpa Henkan, I don't think any damage sustained would be healed, because they don't take damage. Subaru's body is stronger when he's Rockman. The Gemini Thunder could've easily been a fatal attack if Subaru was in Human form, but since he was Rockman, the attack only knocked him for two minutes. After that, he was tired, but able to go to school the next day.
Also, Consider Ox Fire and Libra Balance. Both took a lot of damage, but the only thing the victims had to show for it was unconsciousness. Gonta was up and about a few minutes after the whole incident had occured, and Ikuta-sensei was back to teaching the next day. Granted, I suspect that if the FM parasite was destroyed during the battle, the Human host would be in a more serious predicament. Maybe become dangerouly comatose, but not killed outright.
Meh. I think too much... _________________

It's the FM Seijin who take the damage rather than the human, hence why in the games, (highlight)whenever a boss is defeated, the human is always left behind seemingly unharmed. FM Seijin merely need human hosts. FM Seijin also can take control of the human host entirely of course, as shown by Ox Fire and Libra Balance in the anime as well as Subaru's involuntary "War Rock Upper" in the games.(end) _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

Of course, we have no idea whether that works the same way for ol' WarRock. But meh, I'm not interested in arguing over it.
All in all, this was a decent ep... up until the ending. For love of banana muffins, couldn't they have ended it better? I found it to be lacking severly after such a fast-paced six minutes. I will admit that Harp Note's stratagy of luring Gemini Spark away from Rock with a song was unique, and a nice departure from the 'surprise-attack-an-ally-has-arrived' formula. But aside from that, the ending just didn't match up to the rest of the ep.
Anyways, I've said it before and I'll say it once more. Ryuusei does a much better job of making use of the real world than EXE ever did. The virus truck, the wall-phasing and the ocean battle were winners and just really made the episode work. Too bad Rock lost all of the momentum he had going with Inspector Gadget. Ah well, it was way to early for him to become an ally yet.
I did find Rock's use of two weapons interesting. I guess that we do have proof now that he's ambidextrous...
But meh, overall it was a decent ep. It just needed to end better.
And your spoiler highlights don't work well in the Preview Post window... _________________

I wonder if she'll show up next week. Who's next? The bubbleman crab? |
