I don't think I'm gonna be able to go to this year's Otakon.. I will make it some year though, I swear! I do know I'm planning ComicCon a couple years from now but that's a different topic. And I do have a cosplay idea, but I'm worried Planty would kill me ;P XD; It's R-Laserman >.> <.<
However, the optimist in me says there's still a chance, a small one, of me making it this year. We'll see.

At least I don't have to be paranoid about my plane ticket reservation again...
Last year, I had my ticket for Monday while everyone left Sunday.
I spent a good night in the terminal... x.x

Le t me just talk it over with the current roomies to be sure there weren't any other people in line. We'll probably have to book the place out...6-7 rooms of Days Inn Ota-Rockmaners, plus the many others who are staying in other hotel is going to take most of the restaurant's tables. XD
It's going to be nice to spend some time without the mass of Otakon-attendees and various events. |

Umm...Monday? The question goes to the Newfies--are you still stopping by New York on the Monday after or is that preempted?
And...I'm pretty much not going, since I've got no money, and I have a job over the summer. Will certainly try for '08.

We check out of the hotel at 11 am on Monday, we expect to be in NY/NJ by nightfall. Probably the bulk of our time in NYC will be Tuesday, seeing how it's an unfamiliar city...in the dark...and we'll have a car with foreign plates, so we'll be paranoid...etc etc etc. We'll be staying Monday evening at a friend's place in New Jersey.
...the rest of you guys are keeping in mind that we'll have to check out of the Days before noon on Monday right? I expect most of our relaxing time is going to be Sunday afternoon/evening when the con is over and the other attendees are mostly gone.

Hard Rock Cafe is fun! The first time I went to one (in Philadelphia n.n), YMCA came on the restraunt playlist and a whole bunch of staff came out in full costume and did the routine. :D

You are right to take some precautions like that. New York, although quite vibrant at night, I will admit isn't the best place for out-of-towners unless you're actually staying within the city limits.

And yes, Zippo, I went to Hooters with Maq, Red, LBD and a few others. I made stupid mistakes. 1. Being too lazy to change out of costume. 2. Going during a baseball game, thus the place was filled with sports idiots.
