alrighty, oh and btw, those PA's they've been in my folder its a dual coded folder with only S and * coded ships, I recently dropped the STU PA's out, and I have great timing with the darkenergy I generally get to 5 shots fired without missing the hit, so half the time Its merely getting the dchip lol. If you want I could list my folder. For me magnetman was easiest, I used many wood-based pA's and it resulted in an 8 second delete time. Butironically... that was my origonal folder to begin with, at least those chip combos lol. So thanks for that, never thaught of using pulsars to counter lol, not my only real problem... is that red blur with the sword, i barely hit him before he invades my area haha. Thanks I'll give it a shot.

(Amazing how a passion for a game can be re-ignited due to victory in one battle, I recently came back from a break of MMBN 5 from MMBN 6 and Pokemon mystery dungeon, and I came back to find myself s-ranking gyroman for my first battle lol)

Toward the end of the game (or was it after that? I dont remember 100%),I noticed black hell navis on some different locations wich talk about how I need to defeat 5 of them to open some door. "Door of beyond" or something.
I was wondering, could someone tell me where can I find all 5 and where+what is that door anyway?

Defeating them leads to the opening of a certain door in Nebula Area 4. As for the locations...

1. Isolated platform in End Area 4, accessible by warp.
2. Undernet 1 - Use the route which is needed to find Swallowman. If you don't know where he is, head to the top-left corner of End 1, and try all dead ends. You'll eventually cross an invisible path to a warp.
3. Crane Comp - Access from Oran 2 after activating a crane in the Old Mine.
4. Undernet 2 - Hidden under a ramp near the exit to Undernet 3.
5. Server Comp - Head for the center warp in Scilab 4.

Your little reward after opening the door in Nebula Area 4 is a Grab Revenge N.

It's a chip, which means it will likely plug a hole in your library in the endgame. And seeing as how GrabRvng is one of those chips that has no natural drop areas, this may be useful to you if you are not fortunate enough to obtain a copy through other means.

Okay, I need some help S-Ranking Napalmman. I put in the BodyPack NCP in so I could avoid the holes but my folder is lacking the speed. I hope it is okay that I put my folder right here. OH and the reason that nothing is preset is because I converted the folder from the Colonel version which means I am playing Megaman Battle Network 5 Double Team DS.

GrasSeed A
SeaSeed J
AntiFire K x2
Recov120 K x3
LavaSeed K
ElemRage K
Voltz1 K x2
RedFrut1 K
Boomer *
Lance * x2
GrasSeed *
SeaSeed *
Repair * x2
Recov80 *
AntiFire *
AntiDmg *
FstGauge *
Atk+10 * x2
FullCust *
Atk +30 *
Invis *3

Any help would be appreciated.

You could start by using less combinations and more elemental weakness chips. Chips like Aqua Whirl or any aqua-based chips or PAs help. Plus, learn to time your shots for counters so you can defeat Napalmman quicker.

The lone A and J are cramping the style of your folder. An S-Rank is 30 seconds, maximum. Thus, you have a little under four full turns to defeat him, where a turn is defined as the time from an empty to a full gauge, with no wait before opening the gauge. This means three actual turns of combat, and four chances to draw chips. Twenty of your thirty chips will be played at most, and by including A and J in addition to your K, you decrease the chances of playing a good chip or set of chips. Ideally, you want 5 chips a turn. A FullCust is as good as a Time Stop, so you can count on a bonus turn with about 50% probability.

Out:
-3 Recover120 K
-2 PanelReturn K
-1 RedFruit1 K
-1 Recover80 *

These absolutely need to go. Since you want to S-Rank Napalman, you do not need life. In all practicality, you cannot be hit, period, so your standard life is sufficient. The PanelReturn is also useless, for if you throw a seed correctly, you will not need to restore your panels to their original state.

That's already a good chunk of your folder. Add offensive chips, preferably ones that hit multiple times. You have attack boosters in your library, and they can be used to the greatest efficiency that way. As it stands, your folder has close to zero offense--it is merely defense, damage prevention/life gain, and counterattacks. This is not good when you are confined to so short a time. Peruse your resources, and see what can plug these holes. If you cannot find sufficient playables, it may be best to ditch K and work around another code.

Edit: This assumes that you actually do not draw a FastGauge *. If you draw it, you will get two turns for every one that used to be there, so you have a better chance of playing your entire library. Set it to regular if at all possible.

That's kinda not what I had in the Panel Return and the Seed chips for. The GrassSeed was to throw on Napalmman's side of the field while I set up Anti Fire. Panel Return was to restore my panels but since I have the Bodypack NPC it kinda was useless. Well anyways, I decided to make a STU folder which kinda worked. I was able to S-Rank him but I want to S-Rank him under 28 seconds now.

I'm using MMBN5:DS and my GBA pack of Colonel. I use Colonel to make folders and convert them to Protoman. Since it's treated as an Extra Folder, I can't edit much less preset.

The thing about your strategy is that if you want to S-Rank, you need to be as agrressive as you can in a short amount of time. AntiFire is a good chip, but you have to wait for it to come up and THEN get hit. Not good for time. Also, make absolutely sure you have SuperArmor, because that makes a big difference right there. (Flinching = automatic -1 to rank.)

Combinations tend to not work well with S-Ranking, so it usually comes down to how much damage you can dish out in a few shots. I don't see any PAs in your folder, which is a bit of a problem. You can always use LifeSword, but if you don't want to...you can always use BigNoise or WildSwallow, but those are S coded chips.

Again, focus on finding the times you can counter Napalman and then hit him with a powerful chip, most perferably a PA. If you can't get a PA, then go for the old Counter + SuperVulcan + Attack+30 combo to destroy his HP.

Also, it might help if you Preset FastGauge, if you haven't already. More turns are crucial for a better rank.

Since you're playing Protoman, it would be nice to throw in a few Soul chips, maybe include some Chaos Souls (if that's possible). Search Soul is pretty good for tossing out unneeded chips, and un-flinching Napalmman so as you can resume attacking immediately. If you're annoyed by holes, there's Gyro / Chaos Gyro. Chaos Souls can do so much damage in a fell swoop (if you've mastered them) that one or two hits from them is enough to aid you in your S-ranking quest.

Try and reduce the amount of flinching your chips will induce as well. This allows you to constantly attack Napalmman the moment the opportunity arises instead of having to wait till he's done flinching. Also throw in a few Area Steals so that you have more room to maneuver and he's got less room for his guns.

Also, max out your Custom Window so you can draw in as many chips as possible. This would mean having to ditch BodyPack for space for both the Custom pieces. Fortunately there can be enough space left for Super Armour.

What I am surprised by is how many times I mention I'm using the Convert option on the BN5 DS as a Extra Folder and yet people still say to preset. You can't edit a Extra folder even if it is presetting!

Oh and I redid my folder.

Pulsar3 S x4
WideShot3 S (It is extremely hard to get it in S code...)
Katana1 S x3
Airhoc S x3
DrillArm2 S x4
SpShake S
Areagrab S x3 (Because I do NOT have *)
SuprVulcan S
ShademanSP S
Larkman SP S
WideShot3 T
WideShot3 U
FstGauge *
AntiFire *
AntiDmg *
Atk+10 *
FullCust *
Atk+30 *

NaviCust Setup:
OilBody
AirShoes
Undershirt
BugStop
Custom1
(mainly filler)

Okay, folder's looking a little better now.

A question: Can you put version-exclusive chips into your folder and Convert them over to the other version?

Yeah, I can do that with Navi chips, but their attacks would go down for an obvious reason, but I can't do that with Giga chips. What are you suggesting anyways?

how do you figure out the riddle to open the door to the engine room? it was something like "double 1 and 9 too tonight makes eleven". huh??

This code can be deciphered phonetically.

"Double 1" --> 11
"And 9" --> 9
"Too tonight" --> "two two-nine" (two is a homophone for too and to; nine is a pseudo-homophone for night.) --> 229
"Makes eleven" --> 11

Stringing this together makes the passcode: 11922911

This was discussed earlier in this thread.
