OK, let's try to be a little more constructive and meaningful with our replies shall we?
We've never had a year without snow up here, either. We're up north - it's just a fact of life. The fact of the matter is we're going to have 4-5 months of snow every year. At least one of those months, usually February, will have heavy snow and several blizzards.

You know what they say; "You want what you can't have"... I'd kill for a year without any snow.

Right now, there are mountains of snow, everywhere. The snow banks are now much taller than cars in most places, and the roads are narrower. So, when you're driving to the end of a street and trying to turn right, or more importantly, left, you have to nudge out onto the perpendicular road to try and see if there's any oncoming traffic. The snow makes for large walls on either side of every street, making driving dangerous.

And walking... is much worse. There just isn't anywhere to walk but on the streets themselves.

There are numerous snow-related traffic accidents every year... I could certainly live without that added danger every year.

I just had snow again yesterday XD. It seems again, after i post here it tends to snow.
Well, we didn't get off from school, or have a delay as a result but i'm happy anyway. The crystal patterns of the snowflakes were visible and i was staring at one on my coat Laughing Very cool shapes, they are ^_^.

Maybe if we enter an ice age I'll have to worry about snow. But considering it's about 30 degrees celcius, I don't think it's an issue anyway!

When 3 and 6-feet-tall mountains of crystallized water fall from the sky and pile up all around you, it gets people talking. When cars become buried overnight and you have to climb out windows just to get outside, people get talking. XD

Newfoundlanders love to talk about the weather. The weather is part of who we are. I guess that's true for others too.

Now there's slush where i live, and it looks like snow but was really hail. the surprising part is that my school got out early for this, yet not for a little bit of snow about a month ago.
I suppose it was because of all the ice, i'm surpirsed! Usually where i live, we only get one snowstorm, and that's mostly just a slight dusting.
Ah well, all the better to sled on Smile

The snow has melted substantially the past week. Spring has apparently come out of the blue and we've seen plus temperatures for most of the past seven days. As a result, about half of the snow we had on the ground is now gone... and by the looks of it, it'll continue to melt from here on. Of course, we'll still see snow and flurries...
And then, of course, there's Sheila's Brush (http://www.rjproduct.ca/2006/03/newfoundland-weather-lore.php)... which does tend to happen. We've had huge blizzards in April before, so we're not out of the woods quite yet.

Right now, it is officially spring, and there's still snow on the ground (and a little mountain of snow around my school's drop-off zone).
I woudn't be surprised if there was to be another snow storm, it has happend before.
But as for the weather, it is nothing but rain and sunshine, at least for now.

Right now, i'm almost positive that the snow is gone, but it may come back when i do not expect it.
As for snow last year, there was not too much, i'm fairly surprised at the amount of snowfall around where i live this year.

As predicted in my last post, us Newfies haven't seen the last of winter just yet. Along comes Sheila's brush, here to give us 10-15cm of snow tonight T_T
And the grass was just starting to show ;o; Thankfully the snow won't last for very long - not at this point of the year.

That is the case of weather, Sai. I have felt my fair share of temperature swings in New York, but usually they are much less marked than in other places more inland, because of the water nearby. It generally absorbs a lot of the excess energy, dampening the swings in temperatures. I imagine that the same phenomenon occurs in Chicago, Sai, what with Lake Michigan at your doorstep.

I can only imagine that inland areas have felt a more drastic swing in temperatures and weather patterns.

Damn you! :( I was out shoveling snow yesterday... and shorts is not something I'll be able to wear until at least May... although there are people here that'll wear shorts or skirts even when it's just above or below freezing.

Move to Newfoundland for a winter. You won't miss it anymore, I promise.

It snowed for about two minutes around easter but now it's about 75 degrees!
