If you're asking for an absolute favorite, I'd have to say Tsukihime, despite the fact that it only comes out once a year.

Runners up would be:

2. Yu Yu Hakusho
3. Sailor Moon
4. Busou Renkin
5. Negima!

I really only buy 2 mangas from Comex Hobby these days:
Mahou Sensei Negima!
MegaMan NT Warrior

Does buying issues of Shonen Jump? If it does, I enjoy reading these from it:
Hikaru no Go
Naruto
Shaman King
Yu-Gi-Oh!

My favorite manga? That'll be Fullmetal Alchemist, due to the engrossing plot, amazing artwork, and the fact that it is so different from the anime, that I don't know what to expect anymore. Volume 12 was released this week, and there're what, 15 volumes in Japan? We're really catching up.

I would buy the One Piece manga, but because it's still being serialized in the English version of Shonen Jump, the volumes come out far too infrequently for me. There are only 13 or 14 translated, while volume 45 is soon to be released in Japan.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. There is nothing more intelligent and sophisticated than this unique piece of the fine arts. Narutodes gives me gas, however.

At this point, as I haven't read a lot of different manga, I cannot say, but I have been drawn to Akamatsu's work more often than not. His artwork I find endearing, and his stories quite fascinating, and I've enjoyed his penchant for risque humor and fanservice. I've really only deeply read three series' worth of manga, and Akamatsu authored two of them (being Love Hina and Negima!), so for the purposes of the thread I'd lean towards the latter, but it's probably quite biased.

My Favourites:

1. Fruits Basket - Natsuki Takaya
2. Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE - CLAMP
3. Megaman NT Warrior - Ryo Takamisaki
4. Cardcaptor Sakura - CLAMP
5. xxxHOLiC - CLAMP
6. Legend of Zelda Manga - Akira Himegawa
7. Chobits - CLAMP
8. Bleach - Tite Kobe
9. Pita-Ten - Koge Donbo
10. Chrono Crusade - Daisuke Moriyama

As you can see, I'm a sucker for shoujo manga and a large fan of the works of CLAMP. But I always enjoy a good shounen action every now and then. But if I was to list the top 2 manga a little more objectively, they'd be:

1. Astroboy - Osamu Tezuka
&
2. Dragonball/Z - Akira Toriyama

...Nobody mentions Doraemon or Detective Conan? Those are the two best mangas ever to live thus far.

As for modern manga, I'll go for Bleach, Gash Bell, and FullMetal Alchemist.

My favorite manga of all time is Battle Royale. I like it because of the originality of the main plot, also, unlinke the movie, the manga actually does have character development.

Other mangas that I liked were Ruroini Kenshin (Just the first two arcs, especially the Kyoto arc, after that I didn't liked Ruroini Kenshin anymore.), YuYu Hakusho (At least until it began to being a fighting manga.) and Ranma 1/2.

One Piece and Sgt Frog have taking over my Lives on the manga world.

Dragon Ball, Gintama , and Ai Yori Aoshi are other Manga's I be reading.

I mainly read anything that comes from the Weekly Jump.

Well said! I more or less agree with you, except that FullMetal should be tossed in there. Arakawa is good-- better than the plotholey anime writer, anyway. But that's me being predictable. Gash Bell is a thousand kinds of amazing. :B

Now toss Bleach up in the number 2 spot and I'm good...

In my opinion, my favorite manga would have to be:

Hokuto no Ken

I don't know why, but it's probably the first manga series that I've ever wanted to just read from beginning to end, with no stops whatsoever. Plus, the Hokuto Shin-Ken moves are just way too cool.
