Mario & Sonic at the Olympics

No, this is not fake. No, this is not a fan game.

Mario and Sonic (and friends) will compete in events based on the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

This will certainly be neat, but this raises the bigger question: Does this mean Sonic will be in Brawl?

I don't know if he will be in Brawl, but that is EPIC!!! Seeing Sonic in a sports game, aside from sonic riders, is a first. This is too exciting, and its coming in this Christmas to the Wii (Japan or America release date). Exclamation

Fans have been asking for Sonic in Brawl... but right now, this is pretty much to closest thing to it.

Still, it sounds interesting enough that I might buy it. The only Wii game I have so far is WiiSports. >_>

This seems Fun Bowser&Eggman Vs Mario& Sonic in somesort of sport event haha.

Well it says coming out This Holiday maybe there would be some screens of the game sometime soon.

But is this game coming out after Brawl? Maybe this is some reason that he would not or maybe he is =O

I go to gamefaqs a lot, so I visit the boards for SSBB sometimes, and from the input I've gotten from there, I'd say there's about a 89% chance sonic will be in. Not that I want him in, but I believe he will be.

Sonic being in Brawl wouldn't be that big of a surprise, considering the frenzy that erupted when someone said he was unlockable in Melee. However, this Olympic thing is a bit of a surprise. What, are they doing this instead of Wii Sports 2? Or maybe it's supposed to be a Mario Party-esque game? Either way, it makes fans happy, so I'm not going to complain.

Weird. But sonic being in brawl isn't too weird. Didn't Nintendo of Japan give fans the option of inputing what 3rd party/1st party characters they wanted to see in game. I remeber on their site they had something like that. Rather they accepted the bulk of the submissions is yet to be known. But we'll know when brawl comes...

It's because he's as old as mario. And you never played sonic battle have you? He has a lot of fighting abilities. Plus he's one of the oldest game characters known. That's why.

Shakai, there's a game called Sonic Battle, where Sonic gained an entire arsenel of moves. also in current Sonic games, Sonic's been getting more moves anyways, such as Sonic Boom, Tornado, Homing Attack, Light Speed Dash, and Sumersult. Just like Mario got things like Ground pound and throws... they actually have something to work on, they don't need to make anything up...
