Game's not out yet in the US. If you read above, you'll see.  Probably coming out this middle july. :p
The game does not feature battlechips anymore, but battlecards, so really, get used to call them like this. ;p To answer your last question, you'll be jubileous, since every sword battlecard can be used as a stepsword thanks to the "WarRock attack" mode, in which you can target on an enemy and step forward to strike on their face. Not only swords, most of the attack cards can work like this now.
Customizer is gone. You'll be happy to hear now you're equipped with a shield, so you can shield at any time. Anyway most of the deal is played with the Brother Bond now, some characters in the game will grant you special abilities, like Misola that grants you First Barrier + Undershirt, or also people you can add to your brother bond slots over WiFi or WFC, each game version grants different abilities. Everyone also grants you a solid HP boost according to the level your brother is at. You will also get a special silver battlecard of your "brother" that will randomly choose one of his six favorite battlecards.
The Favorites work differently, it's no more something that shows up from the beginning limited to your amount of memory, but instead six battlecards that will turn silver (in battle you can choose only same battlecards or battlecards from the same column, consider they're displayed on a 2 rows x 3 columns screen, and you can add to those any silver battlecard) and they also will show up more frequently.
The battle mechanics work differently yet akin to the battle network series at the same time. You'll see.

Favorites cards do NOT show up more frequently. *has the Kanzen guide and sees nothing on this*
Favorites may consist of up to six standard class cards and two of those slots can be used for either Giga or Mega class cards. (although unless you have Giga Class+1 from LM Shin or the Wave Scanner Card Reader, you'll most likely only have the ability to add one Giga card to your favorites)
Brother Band btw. Broadband....Brother band....get it?
Having Brothers will do five things.
1. You get an HP boost. The max is +110 for a brother with Dragon version, +150 for a brother with Pegasus version, and +220 for Leo and Bokura no Taiyou DS brothers.
2. Link abilities. Leo brothers will automatically grant you Buster Attack Power +1, Pegasus brothers will grant you Gauge+1, Dragon brothers and Kizamaro will give you MegaClass+1, Legend Master Shin gives GigaClass+1, Gonta gives Super Armor, and Luna gives Float, and Misora gives Undershirt and FirstBarrier.
3. Brother Force. Normally, selecting Brother Force will cause you to add one of their six favorites to your own Card Force for that battle. It will automatically become a white card.
The next two abilities can only be done with brothers who you actually know in real life and can play with in the co-op wireless mode.
4. ShareStars. If an "On-Air" brother (aka one who is within 100 feet of you) has a card in his Card Force folder that you also have in your own folder, both of you will gain a ShareStar. ShareStars only affect cards with an attack value and you can have up to six. The amount they upgrade a card varies. For instance, each ShareStar to a Heavy Cannon battle card will add +30, allowing for a total of +180, making the final damage 330, but WideSword can only reach a max of 160 total damage (+20 per star and the 5th and 6th star have no effect).
5. Best Combo. There are two ways to use Best Combos (these are combinations made by stringing cards together. You form them by inflicting more than 300 damage on an EX or SP boss after gaining Star Force for the first time. The cards you used will become your Best Combo. My particular Best Combo deals 2100 and is made from six cards. See how devastating they can be?). The first is by purchasing and using a Legend Force card. However, this method sucks because if you select a Legend Force card, you cannot choose any other cards for that turn. The other way...is through Brother Force. If you select the Brother Force of someone who is "On-Air", you will not receive one of their favorites. INSTEAD, you gain their Best Combo to use for that turn. VERY nice and by far the BEST reason to want to use On-Air mode. :D

Guess what. We have a release date.
Checking the computers today, I noticed that Mega Man Star Force has been given a release date (probably by GameStop and not Capcom) for August 6th. The only interesting thing is Star Force Leo and Pegasus has only been announced. Dragon has not. Weird no? Now I know it's been metioned before that 1UP.com said 8/15, but now that it's in the computers you can go out and reserve the copy of your choice, just as long as it's not Dragon.

Whoa! Why not Dragon!? I like Pegasus, but why leave Dragon out? That is part of the anime, and if that's taken out how will they explain why there are two satellites in the games and three in the show itself? If answered, then hit my head. Go on... (runs away) |

They've done this before with MMBN 4 Red sun and Blue moon. Red sun came out first while Blue moon came out a week later after Red sun.
Their gonna do the same with these 3 versions too. |

Heh... I was off one day. It's August 7th is the release date. -_-.
As for why they're not releasing Dragon, who knows. Maybe they think that shipping 3 versions would be a bit overkill. I mean, they didn't sell that well in Japan with 3 versions. Which would also mean possibly editing Dragon from the game all together. *shrugs*

The only thing that really mattered to me in those pics (Since the rest of it was moonspeak) was how well captured the quality of the pictures was.
When I've taken a picture of my DS in the past, the quality really sucks. How did you get it to be so perfect?

It's called Macro-mode. Learn to use it. That's the only proper way to take an up-close photo.

Actually...I deliberately set up my deck so that I would be easily able to draw this combo. I turned off all the extra cards except for Star Force, and then I took away every single card except for the six to set up the combo and replaced them with white cards. This was done long ago.

Well, the English press release has come out, so that means we have some of the English names. Steel yourselves, some of them are not pretty.
Subaru Hoshikawa - Geo Stelar
(A play on the Earth/Space theme. You can change his name at the beginning, I believe, so you can call our protagonist Subaru, if you prefer.)
Warrock/Rock - Omega-Xis/Mega
(Sounds real alien, but how in the world did they come up with that? It sounds like a planet from Spaceman Spiff more than anything else.)
Gonta Ushijima - Bud Bison
(A little in your face, but I guess it's okay...)
Luna Shirogane - Luna Platz
(I have no idea what Platz signifies, if anything, but at least she kept her first name.)
Kizamaro Saishouin - Zack Temple
(This suits him. I like the deliberate nerdiness Zack seems to imply, and Temple might refer to his head, since he's supposedly quite brainy.)
Misora Hibiki - Sonia Strumm
(Okay, I guess. I just expected them to come up with a nicer sounding musical pun.)

Hey, I've beening thinking about why they don't have a release date for Dragon... Maybe they're going to pull a Pokemon? You know, like how, for every generation of Pokemon, they release 2 versions, and then later they make a third version. ( Like Yellow, Emerald, and Crystal.) It kinda of makes sense... ^_^;
As for the names, I gotta admit, I like 'em. ( Except 'Bud Bison'. That's the only one that I think could have used more thinking, but eh, it's okay. ) I wonder what they'll do with the rest of the cast?

Platz = shortening of "Platinum"
Luna's original surname was "Shirogane", which essentially means white precious metal, or platinum.
And you can change your name at any point in the game...not just the beginning.

First I would like to say sorry for misplacing my previous post, and to repeat what it said,
what are the differences between the Leo, Pegasus, and Dragon versions of the game, I can only tell that Leo is Fire, Pegasus is Ice and Dragon is Grass,
also any new action figures of these ones?
I haven't been keeping track of the series lately so a quick summary would be nice.
