Indeed. I can try to help too.
There's a hobby store near my school that sells imported Rockman toys. The people who work there know me (I'm a regular). I'll see if I can get some stuff from them that we can use for prizes. _________________

Technically it's the admins and the webmistress who are helping out Terra, as she runs the tournament, not us. :P Best to direct your offer to her, neh? _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Videos are available from the 2005 and 2006 Tournaments on YouTube.com, just look up "Otakon MMBN" or something related and im sure your find it, especially since the director of those videos listed on YouTube is "HardcoreHecxz"
2007 videos will be as well posted online shortly after the event granted nothing happens and im able to attend Otakon. I haven't purchased anything for the trip yet so im not a definate for the con. _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

Oh so those were from this place eh? Well, if you post more, could you disable the comments, the noobs that usually post them distract from the video. Now, was that done using a gamecube? and if so, how? The GBA Player with a connected GBA? |

You put them on YouTube? Oh jeez... o.o;
Yes, it was done on the GC with the GBA player--both playing on GBAs (so no one's stuck with the GC controller). It takes a little finagling the first time, but other than that it's a snap. (Is it just me, or do GBA connectors wear out quickly? That's my only complaint about the whole thing. Those things get loose and they just won't work.)

And by direct, she probably means poke with a stick. XD *points to e-mail*
Tabby, like mentioned before, it'd be great to have Jace's TV again. And since the best way to get ahold of him is vicariously through you...
Also, could someone else bring the Game Cube this year? The GBA Player is still okay as it neither weighs much or takes up much space. I'm trying to lighten my load. Last year the suitcase was waaaay over and I had to cram the trophies into the carry-on. ...Which meant it had to be X-rayed again because ZOMG shiny glass-like object... Smuggling crack would've been less annoying. XD
And for the love of Zero's sexy underpants, someone *please* remind me to bring a surge protector or some other plug thing with multiple plugs. That just *reeks* of "forgotten at the last minute". _________________ Rumack: What was it we had for dinner tonight?

Ah, crap! The some-what important part!
Finally got the trophies ordered today. They should be finished in two weeks or so. There'll be piccies as soon. The actual style of the trophy is different this year and I think you guys'll really dig it once you see it. :3 _________________ Rumack: What was it we had for dinner tonight?

Since I'm not competing in this (I don't even own a GBA or DS! ;o;), I'd be happy to help out with taking videos and the like. My camera can take videos (max 10 min). That would be good for taking videos of the group and people and stuff.
For the actual battle footage, if we're using a GameCube, it would probably be best if someone brought along a VCR and recorded it onto VHS. From a VHS, anyone with a TV-in card, like myself, could encode the video... that would definitely result in a better video than just recording the TV with a camcorder... I definitely won't have room to pack a VCR though, so if someone could bring one (maybe someone who doesn't live too far away), that would be cool. _________________

Actually, this was done for the first two years. The tapes themselves might still be around here somewhere if you guys would want higher-res versions of the battles. _________________ Rumack: What was it we had for dinner tonight?

I can take a hint. I'll bring a VCR but some one else has to bring the tape. Just remind me a week before the con to bring it. _________________ Please visit my deviant.

If I had access to the VHS'es I would upload them myself easily online, but Terra would have to hook me up. Though my understanding I felt the battles meant more when you could hear the crowd and the "ooooooooo, you got PWNED'" as your unable to in the VHS. Still, it's all good fun. If Terra would like to, I'll be glad to assisting in the uploading of those VHS.....might be able to have the crowd sound sync with the Hi-Res.....*ponders* _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

With some careful video editting, I think it's possible that you VHS-tape the battle, camera-tape the battle again (meaning two footages), and then simply mux the camera-tape audio and the VHS-tape video together. Or just make a dual audio .MKV while we are at it.
And since I can't go, I can't help really. Maybe the editting portion ... but I think we have people for that already. _________________
