I have it and it's a pretty good game. It's got some pretty good songs on it. Nowadays you see people in the local Best Buy or Wal-Mart in crowds next to the game demo for it. A lot of people are pretty obsessed with it. If you've ever played it, you'll know what I mean. Has anyone in REO ever played this game? |

To be honest, I play it and own a copy of the game with the guitar controller. It's overall addictive, so much that even contests were made out of it. Real guitarists have an issue with game due to its config, but that is just off the subject. The songs were really good and I can't help but play most of the time. If you go and show off those skills to others, be prepared to play hard 'cause they might be better than you. Multiplayer is also one its greatest aspects, but it is more enjoyable if two guitar controllers are used. Anybody else? |

It is a very popular game. And easy for people to pick up and play. But it's very hard to actually do well. |

Yeah...I played it.
WHEN IT WAS CALLED GUITAR FREAKS.
Moving on, yes I own GH1, and it was pretty fun for awhile, and really easy to get the hang of once I practiced a bit.
I skipped out on the PS2 version of GHII because I *knew* it would be out on the 360 at some point. It just made sense. D: Now that it's here, tho', I'm still passing on it for the time being, seeing as all the songs I want aren't even on there as DLC, and the price is rediculous for it anyway.
My only problem with GH overall is that people think it's innovative and original. It's really not, but it still pisses me off that people will actually tell others how "original" it is and they'll think, "Wow! No one's ever done a guitar game before! Holy crap! Originality!".

I just got the first one today. It's pretty cool, but you can't do as much with Multiplayer, and the graphics are less qualitiy. GH1 is an okay game for the songs, though.
I have some songs from GHII on my MP3 Player. They kinda sound different on the album than they do on the game. They amp up the guitar volume a little bit and add extra stuff to make it more fit for the game. Like on Surrender, they make the first part louder and add some parts in, in case you've ever noticed.
Overall, it is kind of original. I haven't really seen a guitar game like it before. Yu can really get into it after a while trying to master songs like Freebird or Sweet Child O' Mine on Expert. |

Sweet Child O' Mine isn't exactly an expert song. Songs to beware of (in the PS2 version of GHII) on expert are: Jordan, Six, and Freebird. I'm not sure that these aren't on the Xbox version, but these songs are nevertheless so ridiculously difficult that they are guaranteed to break your fingers (not literally). |

And in the first game it was bark at the moon. That was a hard song. |

Uh...aside from the fact that there's 5 buttons instead of 3, it's completely unoriginal, because I played this game...when it was called GUITAR FREAKS. >_> There's NOTHING original about this aside from those 2 things. _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |

Yeah. Freebird is pretty hard, but I kinda think the opening for Sweet Child O' Mine is a little hard at times on expert. The solo on Freebird is pretty much 4 minutes longer than the singing! The easiest song though is Tatooed Love Boys. Then Surrender.
I think on GH1 they went a little overboard with the Power Bars (2 notes on 1 line) on some songs for expert. |

Of course the freebird solo is long. It's usually done with three guitars and with lighters held up. ha ha |

Guitar Freaks =/= Guitar Hero
Guitar Freaks was never released in America fo rthe PS2. People had to import it to play it. It was only on the Arcade from what i know of Which I play <3
The difference is that it has :
Japanese songs,3buttons, MORE settings, Can connect with Drummania [Arcade Version's] and Made the people who brought you by the people who did Beatmania,Drummania,DDR, and some other Rhtym game's.
Guitar Hero it's just has songs that Appeal to american people. English Songs, 5 Buttons, and some real songs.
"In June, 2006 Konami filed a U.S. trademark for the name Guitar Revolution. It is speculated that Konami will release a new Guitar based rhythm game to the United States to compete with Guitar Hero, the first of such a game from the company since 1998." _________________

=P Thanks. I'm well aware, I was just pointing out the obvious unoriginality aside from the 5 buttons instead of three.
And now we have "Rock Band" except instead of a keyboard [ala Keyboardmania =P] we have a mic. Awesome.
And Konami won't release Guitar Freaks here. It's too late for them. They should have done that years ago, along with IIDX, keyboardmania, drummania, percussion freaks, and all those the SECOND DDR started becoming popular.
Anyways, I'm done with this. If I continue, I'm just gonna keep bashing GH =P _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |

Yeah, but it's still pretty fun. Some sound like cover bands, but most, like Cherry Pie and Freebird only have minor differences that I've noticed. Are any of the songs in the first one Cover songs? |

I think almost every song was a cover, save the "Bonus" songs [Get Ready 2 Rokk, Cheat on the Church, etc]. _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |

Correct. It's the same with GHII, except for "Stop" and "John the Fisherman", which are both originals.
All the other songs are covers. Some good ("Woman") and some really terrible ("Killing in the Name").
Also, "War Pigs", "Can You Hear Me Knockin'" and "Free Bird" are all about 5 minutes shorter than they should be. |

I got an even more worse case than what I did of CTS from this game. It trucks up my Arthitis also, lol. Though, it twas an excellent game. However, it fails to actuall guitar. It's like DDR for your hands.
Also, IIDX was the ...good. _________________ Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody. |
