Vacation Notice

Evening, everyone.

Tomorrow morning (May 1st), I'll be leaving on vacation and I won't be back until the night of Saturday, May 12th.

We're going to Disneyland until the Friday and then we'll spend the rest of the time on a cruise from LA to Vancouver.

So then, I'll see you all when I get back. Unless the cruise ship has an internet cafe, in which case I might pop in somewhere along the way.

Well, I'm back.

Actually, I've been back for the past 18 hours. I just haven't been able to come on until now. There's been a lot to do ever since we got home.

Yes, I did. Here's my trip journal.

Day 1: May 1st
As soon as we got settled in the hotel, we immediately went to Disneyland. We went on a few rides, one of which was Pirates of the Carribean. They've renovated the ride and here's what they added:
- The treasure cave has had the stone chest with the cursed Aztec gold added
- In the tunnel right after the treasure cave, they've added a mist-projected waterfall from which Davy Jones emerges
- In the scene with the ship firing on the fort & vice versa, the pirate captain has been replaced with Captain Barbossa demanding Captain Jack Sparrow.
- In the scene where the pirates are interrogating the man in the well, the dialogue has been changed so that they're demanding the location of Captain Jack Sparrow. Behind them, Captain Sparrow is watching them while surrounded by women's dresses.
- In the scene where the pirates are chasing after the women in circles, Captain Sparrow can be seen popping his head out of a barrel hiding from a pirate with a treasure map.
- At the very end of the ride, Captain Jack Sparrow sits on a throne completely surrounded by treasure

Another ride was The Haunted Mansion. They've renovated that, as well.
- When you pass the paintings in the hallway, they depict ghostly images whenever the lightning flashes
- Madam Leota now floats around
- In the attic, it shows several pictures of men standing next to the same woman. As you pass each picture, it changes to show the man without his head. The ghost bride is also improved.

And there was Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. The only thing that's different is the snake. Now when it lunges forward, it extends a pair of fangs.

Overall, we didn't do much on this day.

Day 2: May 2nd
We spent the whole day at Disneyland and California Adventure park. We went to see the Aladdin stage show at the Hyperion Theater. They've updated the jokes in that show.

Day 3: May 3rd
We went shopping. I bought some stuff.

Day 4: May 4th
Our last day at Disneyland. We did everything we hadn't done yet and redid some of the stuff we enjoyed so much. My dad went to Space Mountain and I went to Innoventions where I played Disney DDR. After a full day of fun, we went back to the hotel to rest before we headed out again. We went back out at night to watch the Electrical Parade and the new fireworks show Dreams Come True. Unfortunately, due to strong winds the show was cut short halfway through.

Day 5: May 5th
We left Anaheim and went to San Pedro to board the cruise ship. We boarded the cruise ship and at 6:00 PM, we set sail. The ship was called the Diamond Princess and it was HUGE! I won't go into full details, but I'll give you the highlights. The ship has a spa, 4 swimming pools, a buffet, & 5 dining rooms! And over the course of the seven days, I had a lot of gourmet food!

Day 6: May 6th
We land in San Diego. We visited the zoo, which was deceptively named a safari. We returned to the ship at the end of the day, I went swimming in the outdoor pool for a few hours, and we sailed on. Dinner was in one of the dining rooms. I believe I had escargot that night.

Day 7: May 7th
We sailed into Santa Barbara. Because the waters were too shallow, the ship had to drop anchor and we took boats to the shore. Not a lot there apart from sand and sun. We returned to the ship. Once again, I hopped into the pool. After that, we went to dinner. I had beef medallion that night. Also, it was formal night.

Day 8: May 8th
We arrived in San Francisco. We had lunch in Chinatown for dim sum. Unfortunately, my mom wasn't feeling well so we had to return to the ship. My dad and I ate alone. I had swordfish that night.

Day 9: May 9th
The day of neverending torment. The entire day was spent at sea. And when waves are reaching up to 9 feet and you're easily susceptible to motion sickness, you know it's going to be total hell. The sea was so rough that the pools had to be closed because water was splashing up too high. By dinner, things had calmed down, though. I had lobster tails!

Day 10: May 10th
We arrived in Astoria. Very small town, covered it all before lunch. Yeah, not a whole lot. Swam in the pool again. And very grateful for it after the day before. Met a few people and befriended them. Their names were Michael and Dante. I met Dante later that night in the arcade and we played some Tekken 5.

Day 11: May 11th
The last day of the cruise. We arrive in Victoria, BC. We take a tour, we go back, I go swimming, we got ready for dinner, and you know how the rest goes. For dinner, I had prime rib. I also stayed in my room that night to watch Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.

Day 12: May 12th
We land in Vancouver and disembark. We checked in our luggage at the airport and went out on the town. We had lunch and went back to the airport later. We caught our flight home and we came
