Final Fantasy IV DS

Looks as if FFIII won't be the only Final Fantasy DS remake to be made.

Final Fantasy IV, or better known as Final Fantasy II when it was released in the US, will be remade for the Nintendo DS and the FFIII staff will be overseeing the FFIV conversion.

Final Fantasy IV has always been my favorite of the FF series followed by FFV, FFVI, and FFVII, so I'm really excited about this up and coming remake.

And they just finished the Advance versions too. Well, I'm still buying it, though when FFV DS comes, I'm in trouble.

Geez, Squeenix sure does know how to rob people XD

I'm a little scared of what they really mean when it says the characters are completely redone. The Amano art is a little funky and hard to follow, but it's got the Final Fantasy IV-feel.

Why redo FF IV when it was just re-released on the GBA with extra story and features? If Square Enix wants to redo another game, they should give us the full version of Secret of Mana, not the 60% version that was released on SNES.

Personally I'd rather they redid V or VI, V probably has the best story of the three SNES games, and VI the best characters (even if they are a little numerous).

I doubt we'll ever see the full version of SD2 sadly.

Secret of Mana/Seiken Densetsu II was originally planned for the proposed SNES CD addon, which was organised with Sony. However that got scrapped, Sony publically stabbed Nintendo in the back and struck a deal with Phillips to make the PlayStation and so Square-Enix had to downgrade the game and remove about 40% of the content. This is also why the game can seem a little buggy at times.

Sorry 'bout that.

About this game: I think they should have chosen a different Final Fantasy, like V or VI, since they were a lot better. Plus, VI has Locke, and Locke is the meaning of awesome FF characters.

Heck, I think Locke should be in the next Kingdom Hearts.

They couldn't do V and VI because IV comes first. If only the Soul Blazer trilogy could get this kind of attention.

While I'm a little disconcerted by the speed at which this was announced (so soon after the release of the Advance title) it's still something I look forward to. Hopefully, there are enough features to set it apart from the Advance title.

I'll probably pick this up, since I never got around to buying the fourth installment for Advance anyways!

It's obviously because III did well and they want to ride that wave a bit. I can't complain much as IV is my second-favourite. ^^;

Can't wait to see if they do VI, though. And V would be completely awesome with new graphics, you know?

They better not screw up anything this time, lolers. I hope not, FFIII was a bit... awkward. Meh, nothing is really good as the original.

YAY! More FF! Though I still need to complete III. I wonder if Square is going to redo FF I, II, V, and VI for DS?
