|
|
Does anyone remember growing up (Or possibly, in some world, watch it regularly on a daily basis), watching the Megaman CARTOON? Not EXE, or that weird OVA, this: ...(TRYING TO FIND AN IMAGE THAT WORKS) The people who made this also made Captain N. I am and I'm not surprised this hasn't been really talked about, but... I MIGHT AS WELL... START A DISCUSSION OF SOME SORT ON IT.
There's also Megermans from Captain N in my sigs. COINKYDINK. _________________ Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody. |

YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY, MEGAMAN. NO PAIN NO GAIN.
Sorry, I had to post that. I watched some of that cartoon, and didn't like it in the slightest. It totally ruined the fact that Rockman/Megaman was supposed to be a kid, not a super buffed-out ugly face.
I'm sorry if I offend anyone with this post, but I honestly hate that cartoon. _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

I agree with that part about Rock being a kid getting ruined, but it did have some good points:
1) Megaman called himself "Rock"
2) Blues is as cool as ever (though there was a little too much mention of "brother" in his lines)
3) X was featured

Ah, ye olde Mega Shows.
It had it's ups and it's downs, some hate them and others swear by them.
The Mega Shows weren't bad, not by a long-shot. Yeah, they had their bad points, but they also had some sparkling gems.
I love the art-style used for the shows, and I still remember going 'wow' a couple of times during the course of the episodes. (I was a kiddie at that point, k?) The plots were whacked but still had that thread of seriousness running through them.
Besides, my first exposure to Mega Man came from the Mega Shows. So without the Mega Shows, a Mega Fan I would not be. So I pretty much have to like them. XD |

Just for NumberGirl : Duh...duh...duhdum...duuuuuuh!!! Badadada...Super Fighting Robot!!...dodododo...Megaman!! Badadada...Super Fighting Robot...dodododo...Megaman! Badadadum...Super Fighting Robot...dodododo...Megaman! (Lather, rinse, repeat~)
Fiiiiight-iiing to saaaaaaave...the worldworldworldworldworldworld!!
Or better yet, have it in multiple flavors: Intro Clips
I got up early to watch it every Sunday morning before Church. Who didn't love Scooby Doo Rush speak?! Or Cutman's lisp? At the time, it was great to see random Robot Masters get their 15 seconds of fame. Especially because they were all together, and it wasn't just confined to a single game's group of characters. Was it great? No, it was campy as all getout. But that's why I loved it. And why I'm glad the Anniversary Collection has the first episode on it. I still need to get the DVDs as well.
The part about him not being a kid...well, that's what you get basing the concept off the early American game box art! Didn't really bother me one way or another, because I didn't associate Megaman as a kid until I learned about the changes from the Japanese version much later.
I always wondered why Spark Mandrill of all Mavericks went back in time with Vile, though. When I saw that episode, I was hoping more Mavericks would show up in future episodes, but that never happened. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Oh, cripes. Shoot me now.
I watched every single attainable episode thanks to Netflix, and every episode killed at least one brain cell.

I would dare to say that ANYONE wouldn't enjoy if they watched it now, because it's so obselete. I bet it was more popular during it's heydey in the 80's. _________________

Come on. How can you not like this show? It's a classic from the era of awesome U.S. made cartoons. |

I also watched it and thought it was ok then. Better then the sequences in the games. That's for sure. (the voices mostly) And I also need to do what izumi wants to do. But I have a lot of shows I need to get. |

Orly? Shows you what I know.
Either way, it's still got that weird...vibe...thing... Makes you wonder what the directors were smoking. _________________

The same thing all the production team of those old 90's video-game cartoons were smoking, I'm sure. There wasn't a tremendous amount of source material to draw from back then, so they had to take a lot of creative liberties to keep plotlines pumping out. And unlike anime, in which original plotlines that draw from Japanese culture is usually quirky and fun... mixing in American culture with Mega Man ended up being very awkward, even for Americans. _________________

This is what got me into Rockman in the first place. I use to watch this every Saturday at I think the time was 11:00 am. (Hell, I even own the DVDs to this) Now that I look at this again, it has its ups and downs. My favorite episode is "The Strange Island of Dr. Wily" |
