All kidding aside, check the Days Inn. It may be more expensive then what we're paying. Apparently my sister's friend got a reservation there last week for the con (and that's where my sister is going to be staying -_-). If not, check all the other hotels near the area.

-GM_Link | The hotels in and around the Inner Harbor all offer a limited number of rooms at a special con rate... this way con-goers can get a good deal, and people who just happen to be visiting Baltimore at the same time as Otakon aren't stuck without the possibility of getting a hotel room. The vast majority of these rooms get scooped up within the first month (or earlier) of the con's dates being announced. The hotels nearest to the BCC sell out within days.
Anyhoo, yes, you might be able to get a hotel room... call around... but even if you're lucky enough to book a room this late in the game, you won't be able to get the con rate.

I'm hoping there will be random updates throughout the weekend, or something. After being at a local con recently, my con senses are TINGLING. _________________

Anyone looking for a room should check cosplay.com's Otakon page and Livejournal's Otakon community. This week is the perfect time to search for a hotel at the last minute. People drop out during this week leaving those spaces open. Don't expect to pay cheaply though. A lot of these spaces are in hotel further away from the con or not in the con rate block. If you are looking for cheap, expect to room with 7 or more people. The more people, the cheaper rate. Keep in mind, even though these people are fellow fans, they are still strangers. Use caution as you would with any other event. Guard your stuff. Geez, you even have to guard your stuff from the maids. THEY STEAL PANTS! Literally! It happened to us last year.
Anyways, my art trades are all done this year. I'm determined not to fall behind like last year. Costumes are on the horizon of being complete. 9 more days, peeps! 9 more days! Yay for pulling late nighters! |

I'm planning to. I'm just going to wander maliciously outside, stalking various people this year. Though I don't recall going last year. |
Dude, like the others said, you won't even make it out thur Day 1, Homeless people walk the streets day and night around the Convention Center bumming for Money and stuff, especially by the Days Inn, always a group of them by those benches. Think of this way and I hate to sound bad about it. But they got nothing....you think they care to do anything to get something?
You should look for a roomie, and considering there's like 25,000+ im guessing, you might get lucky. | So in NYC, and everywhere else. Trust me, I've been in the middle of nowhere sleeping, and the only thing I bring along with me is a saxophone. that's all I bring. No cash. Of course, they can just pawn the sax.
I would just play the sax outside the con, like I would do at another other con... This is the first anime one though, hah. _________________ Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody. |

And I'm pretty sure Baltimore police would kick you from the grounds. They've been getting tighter and tighter about keeping that sort of thing away from the con center grounds because the homeless were starting to threaten and get violent with con-goers. _________________

Yeah it's pretty freaky....im sorry man, but camping outside is definately a horrible idea. I dunno how many times I was stopped by them asking for money or whatever, some of which I felt unconfortable because I felt that I was going to get mugged, especially outside at night. Police do patrol constanely, but they are all camped out along the area.
I can fend for myself though in a situation cuz someone will get a DDT followed by a swift Dropkick to the face if they dare lay a hand on me. Same goes if im with any of you at the con.....if any of them do attack, I will fend for you, got my word That's whats great having a wrestler around ya _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

Wow... what an interesting turn of events. For those of you that didn't catch the IGN Article (special thanks to Atomic-Fire and EXE Undersquare):
Quote: | "This new Nintendo DS game kicks off the next Mega Man franchise for Capcom, which will be followed by a new Cartoon Network show based in the updated universe (premiering with a 2-hour special in August, and also available July 23 on Toonami Jetstream). You can pick up any of the three Mega Man Star Force DS games this August." |
Are we going to play the game called "How Many People Can You Squeeze To See A Laptop Screen" since jetstream doesn't work with the Wii's Internet Channel?

Wow... that brings back so much horrid memories. You know if I dig through my tapes, I'm sure I'll find that one and bring it to the con again. *shot from multiple directions*

Well this is new, or at least new to this thread. As of now on Otakon's rough schedule layout (http://www.otakon.com/pdf/2007schedule.pdf), there is a Panel Discussion at Noon Friday titled "20 Years of Mega Man", and later in the day they'll be showing some episodes from Mega Man NT Warrior (DC... whatever that means). Just passing the word along.
