Yeah, I'm sorta burned out after consecutive summaries and whatnot. Up for grabs for whoever wants to tackle it. *EDIT* Sigh...fine. If I lose my contests because of this, you owe me REO!!! Razz You hear me?! Wink And pans are even more delayed. I've got 1 done. Sorry.

--------------------------------------

Crunch crunch crunch, Ricky likes his Tetris food now. In walks Mai, probably asks him if he's ready to go. Ricky barks 'yep!' Title Screen.

So we're at the Westminister Kennel Club Digital Dog show, and Subaru is talking to his homies. The crew wonders when Subaru got a digipet, so he shows them his doggy, Rocky. *Don't look at me evil glare from War Rock with his back facing the group* Luna is so startled she looks like she is going to get sick. Gonta says something about his look that angers War Rock and he has such a funny expression. 'Did your pet just talk?,' Luna wonders? 'Uh, it's nothing' goes Subaru as he pulls his transer away from them.

War Rock has a flashback to the lawnmower incident the evening before, except Subaru doesn't have his creepy look anymore. Sparkly eyes as he thinks about winning the contest, but not creepy face. Poor War Rock doesn't like the idea of what he's gotten himself into.

Back to the present, Mai stands in amazement at the arena. She has some words for Ricky and Wolf sounds like he's either plotting something or talking to himself about what he's doing at this show. The announcer calls the participants to gather somewhere over the loudspeaker.

The games have begun! And they're all still pans! Doggys are running. Luna is choking Kizzy as she worries about how her digidog is doing. They...make them walk tightropes? How cruel! One digidoggy has apparently been knocked out and fallen! Then it appears they have to hurdle walls, or climb over them if they'd rather. "Go, Rocky!" screams Subaru, sadly in a still shot. Rocky leaps through a hoop of fire, well ahead of his challengers. Then it's Ricky's turn on the field running, of course the Wolf is the leader of the pack. *shot* Rolling Eyes Mai is happy.

*Pets Ricky on the head for being a good dog.* Gonta, Luna and Kizzy aren't to happy. Their pets all failed. How is Subaru's dog better than ours?! Subaru gives some reason to which War Rock seems to comply. But then he glances over and notices Ricky. What the? That's Wolf! What's he up to. Wolf then senses that War Rock is having an inner dialogue about him and fights back by having an inner dialogue about War Rock! They both get a spotlight on them, as they are competitors in the next stage of the tournament.

Alright, guess the frisbee throwing station is digital too. Makes sense. Then we get to see the prizes, which includes a framed certificate, a trophy, a rectangle box, a monitor and the Denpa Telescope. Frisbee gets shot and Rocky grabs it before his foe, anonymous dog #4, can get it. Ricky then beats anonymous shocked dog #2. They both beat another dog (not shown) and go all the way up the tourny bracket into the finals.

Open the retractable roof!!!! Oh crap, full moon is out. Announcer guy says we have our finalists. In this corner, Rocky! With bow and frilly dress with hearts on now. Yeesh. Neutral And in this corner, Mickey! (I still swear that's what it sounds like.) And Ricky's got a maid or diner waitress outfit for dogs on. Go clean the kitchen, Wolf. Both owners encourage their denpa pets to do their best. Simultaneous though speech by Ricky and Rocky again.

Ready? Go! Frisbee is launched! 'Hooooooowwwlll!!' by both. And then they both grab it at the same time. A little tug of war never hurt. Ricky says something that makes Rocky gasp, but he still holds on. Then it sounds like he tells War Rock he knows it's him. Rocky gets even more determined and pulls so hard that Ricky gets launched in the air as they both lose grip on the frisbee.

Mai gasps as Ricky is flying slowmo, but then, of course, Wolf gets sight of the moon. Awesome creepy red eye art here. Looks like Rocky retrieved the frisbee now, even though he lost it a second ago. But he drops it when he gasps at Ricky's transformation. More evil eye as Ricky becomes evil red psycho Wolf Forest.

Rocky tells Subaru that they need to Denpa Henkan. Subaru runs, but Mai is staring frozen in disbelief at her former pet that she doesn't notice. Ricky? Wolf has some claw attacks aimed at the crowd, sending everyone running. But Rockman is ready with his sword drawn, attacking Wolf Forest. Wolf dashes at Rock with some fluid swipes, ducking and dodging, and 360 degree camera turns.

Oh crud, Wolf just detroyed the prize table. Subaru got distracted looking at that, so he almost got impaled by Wolf. But War Rock warned him in time. Mai watches still frozen, until she yells at Ricky to stop, after he fends off a Rock swipe. Wolf then pins Rockman's head inbetween his claws, leaving Subaru stunned in fear for his life. But that doesn't stop Mai from crying "Ricky."

Wolf looks over at her and growls as he listens to her pleas for him to stop and return to normal. The brave girl walks up and puts her hands around one of his claws. As she says his name (Ricky) once more, Wolf suddenly sorta snaps out and remembers his time with Mai. From her shock, to initial happiness, to being upset that he wouldn't eat, to more happy times.

Nice little pan of the devestated arena, and as Mai cries a little, Wolf howls/cries out in frustration as his two sides seem to be fighting it out in his head. He slightly brushes Mai away, and then gets ready to impale Subaru. But that time allowed Rockman to change forms! Fire starts to blaze out as Rockman prepares the Atomic Blazer. Wolf initially jumped away, but then makes a mad dash at Rock. Too late, have some heat. Mai screams out 'Ricky' once again in fear he's going to die. But Wolf I guess teleports away in the nick of time, it looked like a different effect than usual to me. Bunch of tiny blue particles slowly disappear as the beam of fire shoots up into space, sparkles, and also disappears.

After fading into black, we see the wave roads outside of Mai's house. Wolf appears and looks into her window, where Mai is crying on her bed about the loss of Ricky. Wolf seems to be telling himself that he's an FM Seijin, that he can't feel bad for her or be with her. So, with a beam from his finger, he sends a Wolf Puppy into Mai's transer. Mai hears the tiny cries coming from it and stops crying herself to look.

It looks sorta like Ricky she thinks, and she materializes it into the real world. Poor little dude is shaking and looks like it can hardly stand. Mai can now smile a bit, so Wolf feels like he can now leave, after some parting words.

And out comes a little Hamster from the doghouse! Frankie is a Ham Ham! Apparently now Frankie is not afraid of this Ricky, so no need for evil eyes.

Finally, back at FM HQ, Wolf and Ox argue some more. Figures. Libra and Ophiuchus wonder when those two will ever quit, but things seem to be back to normal. And we get a city scene to fade out. The end. */EDIT*
--------------------------------------------

I suppose only NumberGirl can answer this, but does Wolf really have a definite name in pet form? Or is it more of a joke that he still gets called multiple names?

While there were enough instances where I was pretty sure it was "Mickey" this time, I swear there was one instance where it was undoubtably "Ricky." And half the time, I couldn't catch an 'm' or 'r' sound in Mai/Maya's speech. So, since I just learned at the MLB All-Star break that Ichiro Suzuki's dog is named "Ikki," I thought for sure that was how Wolf's name would be spelled (Neat coincidence seeing how these episodes aired when they did). But then the announcer and Mai(/Maya/whatever we're going with for her name) seemed to pronounce Wolf's name more clearly as the episode went along and I got even more confused. Confused

Well, it was a pretty emotional episode and the art was as excellent as always. War Rock looks pretty good as a digipuppy, too. Smile I loved his little whiny "why me?" exchange with Subaru.

Surprising amount of panning for an Adachi episode, but many of them were very short pans. Short enough that some won't even be worth stitching. But of course, some fun camera angle effects and a really cool fight scene again (which I tried to capture well in my batch of caps.)

Ep. 39 Screencaps (225 Total Caps, ~8.4 MB) Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5JRADWXN

*EDIT* Here are this week's pans. A couple were unstitchable, a couple I just didn't feel like doing since they were so minor. But 11 is a pretty good number, still. Smile Ignore the order. It's just how I stitched them this time, as opposed to when they aired in the episode, like I try to do.*/EDIT*

EDIT: I'll leave the summary to somebody else, too, lest I end up translating the whole thing Cool

I liked that episode SO MUCH! But what was even better was when they showed who Frankie really was, a HAMSTER! The episode was overall really funny and cool.

I think it's because these episodes taste a lot like fillers/fanservice, although they're being shown to show how the FMs are developing some sort of feelings towards the Earth.

I liked this episode, although it is not my favorite. For an Adachi episode, there was indeed a lot of panning and still shots. But the animation was very good and the fight, despite being short, was very exciting.

It was nice to see how Wolf has a good side as well and the puppy at the end was adorable. It was a good episode but I really hope that the plot regarding the Andromeda Key will start soon again.

That was a pretty nice episode.... I just shutter to think how bad it'll be in the dub.

If I'm interpreting things correctly, when Subaru showed Rocky to his friends, they didn't know what he was, and Gonta guessed that Rocky was a bear.

The dizzy-style battle was certainly a nice, active, variation on the usual way they do battle scenes. I liked the time-freeze "Oh my, that's WarRock" effect a lot.

Well, I now agree with you whole-heartedly, tux. They did think Rocky looked like a bear. An ugly one at that!

*Strangled by NumberGirl for pretending I knew that*

Very sneaky, NG. Cool Wonder how long that's been hidden there. I probably typed the summary without realizing you posted that. Laughing Thanks for the big chunk of translation! Some really cute and funny lines in there. */me spoiling the surprise*

To be honest, I was going into this two parter without high hopes. The basic premise seemed to me like one of those that will either be awesome, or cringe worthy.

Then I actually saw the episodes.

A run of the mill premise can be good, it seems. These two episodes really gave Wolf, previously an unpleasant individual, a softer side and fleshed him out as a character. The artwork was what Adachi usually delivers: pretty and colorful. And the predictable Wave Battle smackdown was quite fluid and detailed.

I do have one gripe though, but it applies more to the last 7 or so episodes then this one. I am getting tired of seeing the Star Force abused as an overwhelming weapon producing instant ownage. I can understand its first display being strong, but now it just seems like a cheap way to end battles. Even Style Changes way back when didn't promise instant victory. Or, for that matter, victory at all.

Nevertheless, this was a perfect example of how filler can thrive in a ten minute timeslot like Ryuusei's.

True enough. My ears are still bleeding from hearing names like Geo Stelar and Bud Bison. The only way that'll change is if I actually meet people with those names.

To reply to the star force..Doesnt Denpa henkin strength is still high without being in battle for too long? I seem to re-call that in the first few episodes, War-Rock says the denpa henkin energy levels drains as Subaru continues to fight.

So my guess of why the Star force is so dang powerful is because Subaru hasn't stayed in battle long enough with the tranceformations as it takes a huge amount of energy to use 1 single move. (referring to Star force episode)

Ontopic: This episode is cute..sad but cute..who would've thought it was a Hamster in the dog house0_0...Awww its cute little Wolf cub!...Sorry couldnt resist Embarassed

Nobody has commented on how adorable those ribbons looked on Wolf and WarRock!! XD

Good episode, but another filler. I agree on the Starforce being overused. It's quite painful.
