It's on Toonami Jetstream if you want to see it for yourselves. http://www.toonamijetstream.com/
I'll try to be partial, pointing out what little good there is, as well as the bad. So, let's begin.

First things first: the first few minutes are Kelvin Stellar (AKA Daigo Hoshikawa) yaking on in his ugly voice about the technology of the day, using his voice-over and various images from various episodes. It should be noted that the microwave girl has been axed.

Heart_Wave has been, as suspected, replaced by a watered-down trans/rock beat. The good news, however, is that it is exactly the same as Ryusei opening in every other way.

In fact, everything plays out exactly like it does in Ryusei, except with the occasionally added dialogue and TERRIBLE voice acting.
Here's a list and my impression:
-Geo sounds like he's around 13-15 years old. A slight improvement over Lan, who sounded like he was anywhere between 16-21.
-Aaron Boreal (Amachi-san) has this really weird voice that sounds almost...pubescent?
-Mrs. Stellar (I don't think they're going to name her) has a normal voice. Yay.
-Luna has the voice one might assosiate with upper-class snobs, one that is slightly reminicent of the "Omigosh!" preppy-types. Another decent voice.
-Zack (Kizamaro) sounds normal, though it doesn't suit his age and stature.
-Bud (Gonta) has a voice that sounds like Gonta on helium.
-Tom (Utagai) actually sounds normal, though not as paranoid as Utagai.

And now the FMs, or the 3 that we've seen.
-Omega-Xis (WarRock) as feared, has this really husky voice, though not as bad as I had first imagined. Should be amusing to see him in episode 8.
-Cygnus has a old-sounding voice, and thus no longer sounds as charismatic as before.
-Taurus (Ox) has an even huskier voice than Omega-Xis.

In addition, the last few minutes this episode (which would be the last few minutes of episode 2) seem rushed in terms of dialogue. Dialogue between Omega and Cygnus would almost seem to over-lap each other.

In all, this first episode recieves 2 **'s out of 5. They kept the theme images, and didn't cut out or edit any scenes (even the scene where Bud sat on Geo, and how Geo got Bud off), and excess dialogue was kept to a minimum. In addition, the translation was FAIRLY accurate. The biggest flaw was when Aaron was trying to break Kelvin's disappearance to Geo and his mom, as it was lacking. He just said "We found these... ...in the remains of the space station..." *pulls out visualizer* "I'm sorry, Geo...there seems to be no hope for your father..." That's it.
All in all, not bad, though it could've been a little better.

EDIT: Toonami Jetstream updates the episodes every Monday, sometime between 10-11:00AM, EST.

I am actually impressed with this...

I watched the subbed version and the English version side by side...the script was exactly the same, although the wording was different, but that's not a problem.

The voice actors sound almost like their Japanese counterparts....especially Gonta and Kizamaro...I still don't want to call them their...other names. Amachi could be..a bit better. He sounded odd when he said "What do you want to do when you grow up?" It sounded plain and random.

Speaking of names...the new name changes, Kelvin, Aaron, and Tom, don't really irritate me like the other names did...plus, those names don't bother me so much. Omega-Xis is pronounced "Omegasis". The name Kelvin Stellar also sounds pretty neat I think.

The only thing I really don't like is the Opening. I'm impressed they actually kept it in tact, the song just really bums me out.

Other than that, I'm liking this so far. Glad to see they didn't blow it...now lets see what they do with a sword. We won't see one until episode 5..which by the dub's combination will be episode 3.

I really liked the quality of the dub, they kept some of the original sounds that I remember. I didnt care for the intro, felt like megaman 8's intro, but it wasnt some chesesy clipshow. This dub seems promising and I hope for its success and possibly of this leading to the dubbing of the missing exe animes. Kudos to ShoPro!

I thought they did a decent job on this as well. Nothing was cut from what I could see, dialogue was very accurate, and the name changes, to me, don't sound that bad when spoken.

I liked the voices too for the most part. Geo's voice fit perfectly, as did a majority of the cast. Aaron sounded a wee bit gruff though, and Kelvin over-acted a few of his lines, but overall the voices were very solid. Cygnus' VA hammed it up a bit, so I wonder how he'll do during the Andromeda Key Arc.

I just wish jetstream would show the episodes in higher quality. It's really annoying to have the video rebuffer every minute and a half or so.

Why must it be broken up into 4 parts? Oh well, at least on Jetstream it might feel like the Japanese version.

Script-wise, I agree that they kept things pretty close. Even that truant line when Buddy is holding Geo down. No real complaints about that.

Looks like Wendee Lee is directing the VAs, so for me, that gives me some hope other voices are going to be alright. Acting wasn't always great, but it really wasn't that bad. Not totally sure, but Akane sounds like Michelle Ruff. I like. Other than that, I wasn't doing a good job at picking out who voiced who. I feel like I know Omega, but can't correctly guess. And there is no credit info at the end.

Voice-wise, Geo fits to me, as does Zack. Luna is mostly fine, a few parts felt too high-pitched to me. Cygnus worked. Taurus as well, for what little he had. Omega's opening grunt matched up sound-wise pretty good, but I really don't know about the voice yet. Not bad, but I'm not sure. Aaron sounded like his nose was being held closed while he spoke to me and I'm sorta mixed on him. Tom, fine I guess. Bud was the worst, IMO. Forced. Really forced. Oh, and Goyoda: Nooooooooooooooooooooo! I wanted Zenigata part deux!!

Tom? TOM! Why? Oh, yeah:

Ground control to major Tom.
Ground control to major Tom.
You were so emo 'til you met that evil swan,
Ground control to major Tom...

And hahaha to Aurora...I mean...Aaron Boreal(is). Kelvin's OK for a renaming. I'm not thrilled with all of the changes and wait to see those to come, but I agree they aren't horrible, horrible. Just need to get used to some of them. But I still prefer the Japanese versions. Neutral

Thor Laewe, you are not a great arranger. The opening theme is cringeworthy matched up with the Japanese opening. Ugh, what is that wavey "meeeeeeegggaaaamaaaan"? Crying or Very sad It works as a credit roll OK, but not an open. And the rest is as predictably flat as a reworked soundtrack could be.

Yeah, I have to agree. In some parts the acting was sub-par, flat, and unemotional. But, hey. It's only the first episode. With luck, things will get better as the series progresses. As it stands, considering it IS the first episode, this isn't half-bad.

Episode 1 is 1 and 2 together right? And your right about the buffering..gah can't get past Geo and Tom was it? or thats Utagi...any way can't get past the touchy speech with them without buffering every 2 seconds.

IMO this is out done way better than they would've thought. Everything seems perfectly okay here and there, Its only 1 episode. And they useually start out semi-weak and strong. I hope it gets improve along the series.

Well, in all honesty, I think all the VA's are pretty good. The only one I think they should've put more thought into was Bud's/Gonta's voice. Too high pitched. Heck, I was expecting them to reuse VA's from NT Warrior. Why, I don't know. I'm kinda gald they didn't, though. Cool Luna's voice, however, sounded a lot like Rika's dub voice from Digimon Tamers. Same actor, prehaps? Question

Buffering problems? That only happened to me about... 2 times. Maybe it's because I have faster Internet? >_>;

To Rock Miyabi: Omega sounded an awful lot like Yamaki's dub voice. ( Y'know, that guy in Digimon Tamers? I think I spelled his name right. o.o; )

I liked the first episode. Why, I didn't even notice two episodes were merged. I just didn't like the intro. The music they used just made the original Japaneses scenes fall apart.
Hopefully they'll stop reusing scenes like in the Japanese ones. I was getting really sick of seeing the same ol' introduction with the microwave woman and satellites.
All in all, it came out good. Too bad they never dubbed NT this good. This is how good Stream may have come out.

Maybe it's because I haven't seen the first two episodes in a long time, but was there anything even cut from the first one? From what I saw it looked pretty much the same. Well except for the original opening with a random person talking about the new world.

I was also pretty impressed with the way the script flowed. Yeah, so you can never have a perfect cast, but it was much more fluid.

Well you don't want to reuse actors that stick to one type of voice. Like if they had "Bud" have the same VA as Dex, you would go "Oh, it's the new Dex" instead of "Oh, it's the new Dex but who acts differently in some.... way..." *shrugs* But of course, there won't be any complaints of Scott McNeil makes a re-appearance.

As for Luna, it's Melissa Fahn, better known as Edward from Cowboy Bebop... and a lot of other things like Rika from Digimon Tamers. ANN has only 4 of the VA's under cast right now. Geo, Omega-Xis, Luna, and Bud.

All in all, pretty decent episode. Can't wait to see how they handle the second one.

My only real complaint can be the opening theme.

Honestly. I liked the voices. ....Well let me reiterate that.

I really hated Gonta and Kizomaro in the japanese version...so if I can hate them in the dub, that's good enough for me XD

The OP is my only real gripe o_o; What the hell? Were they so lazy that they couldn't change the OP's visuals to match the OP's horrible music?

Here's a high hope. Maybe Viz'll do this how they did Naruto. Eventually replace the opening theme with the japanese OP, but keep the old OP (the crappy megaman stuff) as the end theme.

I personally think that's the best we're gonna get. (considering RNR didn't get an ED....from what I rememeber.)

Though what would really make my day is if I was assured they keep the original BGM. Cause we all know how much I loved the bad guy theme in RNR XD

Curse Cartoon Network and their American-only access to Jetstream media!

But I definitely thank AGF.

Anyway, I've been trying to pinpoint where I've heard certain characters' voices. I know for certain that Luna's voice sounds just like Ruki/Rika's from Digimon Tamers. As far as Subaru goes, I swear I've heard his voice somewhere before but I can't place my finger on where exactly.

Oh and to add to stuff being maintained, they also kept all of the original sound effects.

That's because it is Rika's dub voice. Melissa whats her name. And according to Wikipedia, Subaru's VA is also Kiyomaro;s VA from the Gash Bell dub.

I think it was really good for a dub. Like Shakai, my only gripe was the opening theme... it was kind of... yeah.

I heard the voices were really bad, but they were great in my opinion. Subaru's dad kind of exaggerated but it was fine to listen. The voices weren't all stiff and emotionless like what Viz did to Eichi's voice in the FMwS dub.

And aha! I seriously suspected that Melissa Fahn played Luna. I could picture Luna saying, "You gogglehead!!" for some reason.

Thanks to Kirbopher, who posted this at the On-Air forums, here is the VA list (as of now) if anyone would like to know. He has also been told that they have only dubbed 13 episodes so far. Which I guess makes sense, since that should probably be about the halfway mark for the Japanese version, without heavy editing.

Geo Stelar: Jason Spisak
Kelvin Stelar: Tony Oliver
Akane Stelar: Michelle Ruff
Omega-Xis: Kyle Hebert
Luna Platz: Melissa Fahn
Bud Bison: Robbie Rist
Zack Temple: Yuri Lowenthal
Tom: Sam Reigal
Aaron Boreal: Wally Wingert
Cygnus: Liam O'Brien

IMDb'em (or however else) at your own leisure. Since Akane hasn't been Americanized yet, wonder if she'll be renamed Faye? What, you don't want to hear Melissa Fahn say 'Faye Faye!' repeatedly again? Wink

The 13 episode thing was confirmed a while ago in a press release by Viz, actually...

Second episode is out on jetstream.

Denpa Henkan is now Electromagnetic Wave Change. An accurate translation, but it sounds a bit long winded.

Goyoda is now Detective Copper. His VA is awesome.

Predation is Predation.

The dialogue for when Geo gets the Megaman alias is slightly different from the original. Originally, Subaru started to say his name, but Warrock stopped him with a cough. Subaru then said, '' Rock...?'' and Goyoda then called him Rockman. In the dub, Omega-Xiis coughs and mutters
'' Megaman.'' instead.

Judging from the next episode preview, swords are uncensored!

Translation seemed to be pretty accurate again. They adding in some background chatter during the scene when Geo saves Luna, but other then that, nothing that different from the original.
