It seems that Lovely Balance isn't as popular as it used to be. So it now seems that the show has been canceled and that Libra-Ikuta is out of a job.
It also seems that the stress caused by being out of a job has caused Libra to go schizo on us. While the two personas split and argue about what to do next, he starts arguing and fighting with himself, until the more fiery and vicious persona conquers and sets out to do something, perhaps to seek revenge.
So, Libra Balance Flame goes out and attacks the power plant (?) by setting it on fire. Rockman to the rescue! Rockman quickly lays the pwnage on Libra Balance, but the shock of being attacked causes him to switch personalities! Confused, Libra Balance Water puts out the fire with his Aqua Weight and uses the smokescreen to escape.
Later, we see Aqua Libra-Ikuta chilling at the park, perhaps trying to figure out what's going on with him. He's suddenly hit by a baseball, courtesy of Kizamaro and Gonta. This causes him to change to Flame Libra-Ikuta. (confused yet?) After a failed fan-spaz moment from Gonta and Kizamaro, Ikuta-Libra leaves.
At some point or another he goes back to being Aqua-Libra, and decides to go get some chow. However, as he's leaving, he falls down a manhole(lol), causing him to go back to Flame Libra. A strange message appears on his Transer and I have no idea what it says. It obviously has something to do with the next episode.
---
In all honesty, I'm getting kinda sick of all these filler episodes. I want something related to the plot to happen (like Mr. FM King to finally DO something or Gemini Spark making their move or SOMETHING!), because this is getting old. However, it seems that these upcoming episodes have the FMs killing themselves off (or at least giving Rockman a big helping hand). So maybe something's going to happen soon. Maybe...

Was this the anime's way of apologizing for completely ignoring the most important aspect of Tsukasa's character? If so, they failed. Horribly.
I saw this on Youtube, which means no audio for me, so I'm probably not in the best position to review this, but still, they could've tried much harder. Much harder. It's really starting to get annoying which all of this filler, especially since there is still plenty of game material to work with. At this rate, the finale looks to be horribly rushed.
The art... Look at Warrock around 6:45, and Subaru towards the end. Ugh. Out of the three art directors, Nomoto is the weakest, and this ep proved that quite well.
Soo... The only part I liked was when the set spontaneously fell apart in the beginning... Please let next week's episode be much better... Please. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

As much as I dislike continuous fillers, these were made for comedy. After all, there are kids watching this stuff as much as we are. Besides, it would take all the fun away from the show if they go on the real plot, which I'm scared to say that it would end very quickly. |

Well, about the only thing this episode answered in some respects is why Libra helped Rock way back when and still showed up with the FMs the next episode. At least it can be inferred much easier how his personality works, if it was not actually stated why.
I agree that I got a chuckle out of a few scenes, but for the most part, it was slow and made me feel like enough is enough with the fillers. As ComicX6 said, the art did not help in many instances. Choppy motion and pans that weren't necessarily the greatest.
I'm confused, shouldn't Gonta and Kizzy know Prof. Ikuta from school? Do they really think F-Ikuta on the game show is really a different person? Why would they be that surprised and all swooning when the show is in the tank? LOL, anime selective memory. Show some respect for your teacher at least...
And who leaves a dog out in the middle of the city, almost in the road, without tying it up? Honestly! Don't give me the "it's a stray" answer. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Ikuta doesn't teach at their school, he teaches at a science foundation. They were just guests in his class. |

A technincality. They should still recognize him as someone other than a gameshow host, but whatever.
The point is, they need to move on with the plot. _________________

I don't think you get it, do you? This show was meant FOR kids, too. So, it would be nice to show some humor. Besides, I think you should TRY, I'm not saying you have to, to be patient and enjoy the show.
On a side note, does anyone besides myself realize that Cancer is eating himself (Cancer = crab, Cancer eats crab ramen)? |

Yeah, I noticed his cannibalism and had a good laugh at that.
I don't think it's that we don't understand that, Seijin, but you have to remember we're also basing this on how the EXE anime series has gone in the past. Any show needs some type of plot to keep people watching and interested, especially a series such as this. It's not the same as something geared towards 4-year-olds, where it can be purely repetitive just for entertainment value.
And it's not like most of us aren't finding some humor in these episodes. But in every other EXE season, usually there was some game-based plot that was in motion by this time in the series. They seem to have pretty much abandoned it in Ryuusei right now, however. Or stalled it for too long, depending how you look at it. You can still keep humor in the episodes, but there should be something else going on involving Gemini's plan for the Key. It's been quite a while without any real answers. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Yeah, we've hit over 40 episodes, and if this series has a normal run of 51 episodes, we should be in the midst of the plot, not with this constant fillers. By this point in EXE, the Extra Codes were being introduced and Gospel was starting to show itself. In Axess Regal and the Net Saviors were gearing up for the final fight. In Stream Dark Rockman was aggressively pursueing the Crests of Duo.
And in Ryuusei, nothing. The plot with Gemini and the FM King seem to have been forgotten. It's just really frustrating for us, the fans. The only way this two parter won't be filler is if they decide to kill Libra off in the next episode. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

I dunnow, the later EXE series kind of beat around the bush a lot too. The important Gospel related stories are bookended by large blocks of filler, and hell, the first EXE series ENDS on filler. And the first game's boss is regulated to being the enemy of said filler, which is much worse than simply delaying Cepheus's arrival.
That said, Ryuusei has to spread its stories out or otherwise condense them too much, and that makes it seem a lot longer as a narrative. But I like it more than EXE the same, and have enjoyed a chance at deeper looks for Libra and Wolf. And while the thing with Tsukasa isn't my cup of tea, I don't think its betrayed the spirit of the games in GENERAL nearly as much as EXE had at this point.
It's not exactly the same story, but they've taken certain elements like Cygnus Wing and Tom, and fleshed them out, or used scenarios that are similar enough anyway. And in the case of Libra and Wolf, made them a bit less one note. |

Although I'm generally enjoying the fillers for the most part because as stated before, they often give the FM's more depth, I am worried that all these episodes wil increase the chance that the final story arc will be rushed. I'm not sure if this series ends at 51 episodes, if so I'm a bit worried, if it would continue a bit longer, for example 56 eppies, then I have a bit more understanding for these many filler episodes.
This episode wasn't really special although there were a few good moments. I generally liked the animation except for a few shots, I wonder what exactly will happen with Libra in the next episode, but at this point personally I can't really believe he will be killed. _________________ This great avatar is made by Synchro-kun. I double checked the summary, and it has nothing talking about the poster Libra saw in the book store. I say this due to its importance to the next episode, and to make sure nobody gets confused. From my viewpoint, it looks like a contest ad, but I might be wrong about that. |
