Weird that Jetstream hasn't uploaded episode 4 yet...probably still trying to figure out with the 2nd half of the episode. :\

Does anyone know when the Cartoon Network premier is/was supposed to be?

Hmm, The Dub...

Well, I guess my first nitpick is tha ever so vauge, something is missing. The Opening is missing that little edge, that would make the song so much better. Geo's voice is flat and is missing a little bit of emotion to make him sound a bit more believeable.

Secondly, the voices. Luna's isn't bad, but her VA sounds a little too tomgirlish, I'm forever reminded of Rika. However, Rika always had the air of bossy around her, so I guess that fits. Bud is, like mentoned before, a little too high. I imagined a gruffier voice. Zack.....makes me want to hurt something....but it does fit. I have no real gripes about Omega-xis, thought I don't partucularly like it sounding like Omegasis. Geo sounds a little flat, but aleast it sounds his age.

Now....does anyone else besides me get the odd feeling that Sonia might have Lacus's VA? I don't think the voice would represent Sonia's actions to well...but that's only my odd feeling.

Well....I'll give it a 3.75 out of 5. It's a hell of a step up from Network Transmission, but it just couldn't nail down a few of the points that makes the original so good

Heh, Kiyo's voice as Geo is a bit weird. I personally think for some odd reason that Spike Spencer (Shinji Ikari's dub VA) or the dub actor for Aaron in Lunar Knights would work.

I don't know why. When playing the game, I kept hearing a mixture of those voices when Geo would talk.

You know how there was no new episode last week? Apparently, they finally put up Ep 4 on Jetstream today! Yay!

EDIT: 'K, I watched it, but there's some weird bug where the video stops and just says 'Click on a episode to view' around 3:12 of the fourth part of the ep, like it already ended. If this happen for you, try fastforwarding the video ( Y'know, moving the little meter thing that shows how much of the video has played.) To about 5 seconds before that to see the rest of it. Hopefully, they'll fix this. Confused

Omega-Xis throws a boredom tantrum, omg so cute! He is definately one of my favorites now!~ :3

....There was ONE BGM I liked. The part where Bud saw Taurus....That was kinda good....but I still hate VIZ for taking away the awesome bad guy theme DDDDDDDD:

Yeah, planeteriffic... Either Luna made just as horrible a pun in the original, or this was a VIZ slip up. Then again, it might not be a slip up, depends on your view of it. ( C'mon, puns are funny! Razz

)

I dunno about Lune sounding like Suzy, but at one point, Cygnus' VA sounded like Gaara's. It's probably the same, or just a coincident. Confused

My main issue with this dub is that the VA's lack any real emotion. It seems to me that none of them really know how to scream or yell. For instance, during the scene where Geo was getting beaten up by Cygnus Wing's little duck-things, Geo could only manage a few high-pitched grunts.
As for the second half of episode 4, I'd say that Mr. Herbert gets a 70 out 100 for his opening tantrum. At some points he did raise his voice enough to convey that he was bored to the point of frustration, but after that, he went back to being his usual monotonous self.
If they could just put more "oomph" into their acting, this dub would actually be pretty good.
My only other issue is a minor one, and that's the lack of any real background music. In most instances, there's no music at all. Which poses a question: if they can keep the original sound effects, why can't they keep the original music? :\
Meh. I'm so nit-picky...why can't just enjoy things?

I watched on IE, and it didn't stop for me. But the video slowed a considerable speed around the 3:40 mark of part 4, so that the dialogue was way ahead of the video. But after a good 5-10 seconds, everything was matched back up. Maybe it's a different kind of glitch that affects different parts of the episode?

"We're gonna die now!" Well, if they can adlib that line into the dub, when all Kizzy did was shake in terror in the original, there shouldn't be any worries about things being censored too much, should there? Laughing

The boredom lines were re-written well at times, and really overworked at others. But it was still very funny regardless. Also felt the BGM was alright at times. The new tunes fit the scenes better, I think. And I like Taurus' voice, but Taurus Fire sounds so much whinier and weaker with Bud as his host. As does Cygnus Wing's, which I think I said a couple weeks ago when the last one aired.

I did not like Cygnus Wing's voice much this time either. It just doesn't suit him. Neither was the case with Taurus Fire, though his voice was kinda weird in the original as well. Holy cow, they referrenced death!

Planetariffic = fail. Though it was kinda odd that we were 4 episodes in without geating some dumb dialogue jokes. At least it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

I still wonder where that soccerball came from.

I just saw part of the second episode, near the end I believe, where Omega and Geo transform for the first time.

It blew me away.

They nailed Geo and Omega's voices. The VAs could have done better (and less rushed) at times, but I think that they're a perfect fit. Omega's personality was true to the original and I absolutely love the echo effect they put onto the Predation scenes.

Luna's VA was spot on, while Bob's was a little less gruff than he should have been. But I suppose that he's alright. Bud does indeed sound like he's on helium, and for some reason Zack's didn't lodge into my mind at all. I honestly can't remember it.

Yes, I know I'm rambling on about things that were covered five pages ago. XD

Now I've just got to find some way to catch the third or fourth episodes. I really want to hear Cygnus Wing's voice...

I personally don't mind the voices for the most part, well other than Bud's.

The only thing I have against Luna's voice is that it sounds exactly like Rika's, you think the voice actress could try a bit to change the voice a little. So when it gets to the introduction of a certain FM-ian, I'm going to be thinking "Bio-Merge Digivolution Activate!" even though the animals are completely different.

I agree that the actors could of done a bit better with the emotion part, but it does seem lately that anime has been loosing emotion when dubbed. Shows how lazy people are, but it could always be worse. (Remembers a Youtube video of a Finish, at least I think it was Finish, Digimon Adventure dub, with a "Screaming" Takeru and Patamon)

So far it seems great, though they could of gone the lines of PPGZ, and probably other anime, just cant' think of any right now, and put in both title cards, so it wouldnt' seem like such an odd transition from the defeat of one to the introduction of another FM-ian. And the preview of the second half is stupid, and has not place in the "last time on Starforce" section where they recap what happened in the previous episode seriously, when you suddenly go from that to something showing stuff that hasn't happened yet it looks retarded.

Other than those things it's a pretty good dub in my opinion.

Seiko won the theory lottery. Ep. 9 and 12 have been combined in tonight's tv airing. Unfortunately, it appears at least the first 3 and a half minutes were edited out from Ep. 12. The first major major editing issue.

Is Ep. 15 part of this as well? Check that, we're jumping into a new episode now, I guess. The commercial breaks are throwing me off. Perhaps seeing them online later will ease my confusion. Part of Ep. 15 and 16 are together next, skipping 10-11/13-14. And they know Gemini without any real introduction?! UGH!!! Evil or Very Mad

Gemini Spark B has a great voice. W, kinda iffy, but it fits and is the proper contrast.

So it appears the dreaded edit has finally reared it's ugly head. At least a good couple of minutes from the middle of 15 have been cut out, as have a good 2 minutes of Tsukasa's first encounter with Gemini from 16. And if I heard right, Misora is no longer Sonia Strumm, but Sonia Sky? I sense some angry responses coming. Discuss!

And what a poorly-acted line for the guy in the tank in 16. I'm an actor and I'm so angry at the producer and director right now. So monotonous. >:p

I'd hold off guys. They're probably doing it in order to fill up the two hour length... airing the Sonia parts would have likely forced them to end early.
