Please Fully Explain Dark Chips In BN4.

You don't need yo be evil to get a complete game. If you activate Dark Messiah Neo when you're light, it'll puff away in smoke but it will still be added to your library. You still have to go dark to see it in action, but at least you don't have to save when you do.

I really wish the game had another save slot. so you could play one for light and one for the dark.

I thought the soul cleanser would be able to return you to your original HP over time. Bah, I guess not. Then the only real point of having a soul cleanser is to get your karma lighter faster.

The only reason I don't use Dark chips is because of the HP loss. I'd do it more freely if I wasn't so afraid of loosing that HP.

Yea, but it's dissappointing when you've collected all HPMemories and have the menu say: "HP: 999/999".

I've already used 5 Dark Chips, all for tourney navis. T_T

The HP thing is a bummer if you are a completist but im not unless i really love the game and i dont really love exe 4 so I beat the game pure and then did a Dark Chip romp on hard mode, and had a ball so if you dont care about 1000 HP it is great fun

Well, you could use a few DarkChips only to get in evil mode and then no longer use them, and then go nuts with the EvilChips. No HP drop but still cool to use.

Also, I'm much more glad with EXE5 version of DarkChips.
[spoil:8134e3b458]No more worried Megaman, the chips are in your backpack but unless you put them in your folder, they won't show up. YOU must choose consciously, no more being tempted when your life is at stake to whether use them or not. And most importantly.... CHAOS UNISONS. Infinite DarkChip use per turn WITHOUT HP DROP. That, if you have good reflex and correctly charge your shot... battling against your DarkSoul might be really annoying at times.[/spoil:8134e3b458]

EXE5 still has worried mode. But now all it does is prevent you from Unisoning. There's still only a 3/30 random chance you'll draw your first Dark Chip in any battle, which I still think is pretty lame, despite the way Chaoses almost balance it out.

Also, dark chips suck unless you really don't care about dying/losing or HP drops.

But I agree with Raijin's point about darkchips in EXE 4. They would come when you were in desperate need of them, and they'd come even when you didn't want them. They'd just stand there and taunt you, and there was nothing you could do about it, EXCEPT GIVE IN!!!

So that made darkchips more tempting. The temptation is lowered in EXE 5 cause you have to wait for it to show up in your folder. Not fun. I had to run around Akihara Net just to finally get it to appear.

Which will I use first

There were quite a few times when I got the chips I needed and I got a DarkChip at the same time... There were also times where I didn't get the chip but I took a lsight risk and it paid off...

Oh well... *shrugs*... I think having DarkChips appear when u screw up is not a bad idea but I guess... it's Capcom's choice

The positive side(if you want to call it positive)of using dark chips is in the BN4 free tournament(which is activated when you get traded navi data from a RS/BM game)is you don't lose hp when using a dark chip :] ,only problem then is the effect of the dark chip,but I still use them in the free tournament!

BTW,in higsby's shop,the board next to the kid,starts a free tournament which you could play anytime as long as you have navi data.Anyway,when you play a free tournament,it's just like the regular tournaments in the game,except if you win,you get a secret chip from the navi you just fought.For example if I fought roll last,i'd get one of her secret chips,roll arrow 1,2 or 3.Now the thing about dark chips is that if I fought roll last and I used a dark chip,I could get a different code of the chip,like roll arrow 3 Q instead of roll arrow 3 Y.Now this one of the ways dark chips can be good.There's more on the free tournament on gamefaqs.com or maybe on the site.Hope this helps :] !
