Almost outta here. We get moved out of our place tomorrow, final out the next day, store our car, and fly to Seattle the next. Then the end of the month comes around and we're over in Japan land. Wow I never really thought about the day ahead stuff, and the heat. Does the Wii weather channel work over there I wonder.

Anyway L&L will be on an even longer delay since I have to pack all the material into our household goods which won't get to us until October at the latest. Just as long as I get to Okinawa safe right to start it back up. (And I have the editor whip ^W^)

We also found out what our little otaku is going to be. We'll be having a boy and his name is going to be William Randal Canfield. Isn't that cool. I hope to see Isumi sometime while I'm over there. We need to keep in contact to maybe go to Tokyo Disney, or one of the resorts on Okinawa after Will is born. That is the end of this report for now. I'll try to keep you updated whilst I travel.

TTYL,

Cool. ^^ I hope to visit Okinawa sometime in the winter, when the Kansai region is freezing cold. :P If you're ever in Osaka, let me know - Universal Studios and everything is up here!

I don't know about the name Randel but Will's a great name. And of course the Wii-ther(weather) channel works over there. It's one of the places I'm sure it would work. It's Japan. Hope it's a good move over there. Does your car come over there or do you just keep it here? I remember my parents had a car shipped over to europe but the salt in the air and ocean messed with it.

No we don't get to bring our car with us but we do get to store it though our orders. It's kinda neat, military car storage has to take care of your car depending on where you're going for however long you're gone, and our guarantee plan doesn't expire on it until 2012, and we'd be back by then maybe. Tomorrow is travel to St. Louis day so it can be stored and then we're on our way.

The MySpace acct is now public for anyone who is interested the link is:
myspace.com/stephanie_canfield (copy paste(Kinda in a rush this morning)

YAY!
We're here. Picts of vendy machines and ext. to follow. We got here on the 31st of Aug, and pretty much had a free weekend. Tuesday we in-process our new base and find out where we're gonna work. Now it's time to make my editor breakfast. Talk to you guys later.

So far the country is cool around the base. Most of the people speak really and surprisingly excellent English. We bought a car yesterday. I'm not remembering what the name of it is, but it is really cool. It has a front seat that can turn around and face towards the back and lots of trunk space for storing things. I get to work my same job over here and so does my husband. More in-processing happens today and we can collect the cool car next week. I'm starting to work on the photo collection to post on MySpace so you guys can see it. I'm not sure what it is like for Isumi over in Osaka but I hope she is having fun all the same.

Unfortunately, outside of the Okinawa area (where there's a huge concentration of foreigners), not many people can speah English outside of what they might have retained from high school. u.u;

How true.
Even those I've seen leaving an English conversation school seem to forget all about it as soon as they close the door behind them.
Though I've met the ocassional hey-I-know-english-what-can-I-help-you-with-? kind of people, too. I just wish they didn't look too much like they haven't bathed in three days -_-;

It's even worse when you're talking to people who saw you coming and thought "omg! a foreigner, I forgot all my english what do I do!?" You try to speak Japanese, and I think they're trying to listen for English, and so you have to repeat "deguchi wa doko desu ka???" four times to get an answer. XD It could be my accent, but I'm told that it's quite good, so I dunno...

I've also heard about them forgetting any english they knew. But sounds like it's ok over there for you.

I work fitness for the military. I think we're gonna be taking some Japanese courses while we're here and they're college credited too (big +). Anyway we got cell phones today so we can now be reached Isumi, if you want a break from speaking Japanese. We plan on living off base so we can learn more about the culture and also speak the language better too.

Anyway TTYL,

Very good! What company did you go with? I'm finding Softbank's working out really well for me.

Well at least the cell phones will help you blend in. heh heh heh. I did heard that some tests for Japaneses is really very hard. But those are mostly for people who are like teachers. Or at least, that' what the guy I read it from was.

That's the JLPT, the Japanese Language Proficiency Tests. I think I might give one of the easier levels a shot when it comes time in December.

Careful. The higher levels will kill you with hardness I read. The lower levels are easy but it's really hard at the highest level.

KK. Looks like the fict is on more of an hiatus then I thought cause we just got internet. I have to start going out and taking pictures of the vending machines and other things this upcoming weekend. We have some shisa statues among other things that are Japanese in our house now, and hope to show you guys all of them. I'll have more later and maybe a chapter of Lan and Lyne. TTYL, and Happy Halloween.
