Well, actually, if I remember, Lan was voiced by Alex Doduk, a male, for the first 16 episodes of EXE, and he sounded his age. Though Doduk's age, which I can't find, may have been a factor in that. Brad Swaile is the one who voiced the deeper voiced Lan throughout the rest of EXE and Axess. It wasn't the deepness that bugged me so much as the way he overacted and put emphasis at strange parts of his lines.

I think that Jason Spisak is doing a fine job thus far as Geo. Even a 34 year old man can do a decent boy voice if he tries. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

There's no guarantee that the episode will launch online today. They skipped a Monday once. On the other hand, there was one Monday where the episode was very, very late, but it did show up eventually that evening. So, just keep waiting and we'll see for sure.
And, yeah, I'm almost positive Alex Doduk left the show because his voice was changing... I believe Kirbopher told me. _________________

Is there any news as to if and when Viz (or Toonami for that matter) will be airing Star Force outside the US? I'd love to know first hand half the stuff you guys are talking about, but as far as I can find, only the first 3 eps are available to view outside of Toonami Jetstream. ;_;

It took him a while, but this guy finally got the latest episodes up. Just browse through his vids to find them.
Also, it seems we won't be getting an episode this week. _________________

Yeah, I realized it like right afterwards that I goofed (Wait, Shakai said that? No, right?), and didn't go back to fix it. I'm sorry about that, honXD |

Ep. 6 is up, FYI. I think many people forgot that Labor Day also means a day off for the people who put the vids up for Jetstream.
Still rolling in the right order, 11 and 12 are combined. They have kept some of the guitar string background effects such as when Lyra used her Shock Note attack or when she escaped from the police in that portal of hers. I really kind of liked the new song they played from the final 1:30-end of Part 2. Only problem was it seemed to really drown out the dialogue more than it did in the original. The Copper/Geo chase around town in the next part of the episode also had a pretty nice tune, all things considered.
Mitch and Libra are shown in next week's preview, so it should continue on like normal again, which is great! 99.9999% sure Libra is voiced by Richard Epcar (Batou from GITS:SAC, Ziggy from Xenosaga, Ansem/Xenahort from KHII, etc., etc., etc.) _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Lyra Note has a disappearing pocket! /o/
also...
TO CREATE, I MUST DESTROY!
Anyone else ticked off by how many times that line is used? XD (I'm not knocking the dub, it's probably the same in the original, I just found it annoying XD) _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

We can all agree that Sonia's dub song is an improvement when compared to Aki's song from NT Warrior, correct? ( Even though I don't know the lyrics to Sonia's original song... )
I think the whole 'TO CREATE I MUST DESTROY!!' thing was meant to annoy the viewer. But I'm just saying, y'know? _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

Meh, it's alright, considering that the guy just kept spouting "art master" in the original version. XP _________________

I never, ever want to hear Bud, or any other character for that matter, say what he said, ever again. (Rewatch the scene right before Luna wakes up if you don't know what I mean.)
Some thoughts... Lyra sounded more sincere in her apology than Harp did.
Lyra sang the lyricless lullaby, unlike the original.
Copper bursting onto the roof was funnier when set to music like it was in last week's preview.
They didn't redo Misora's humming from the original. Odd.
The human virus ep was 10x funnier than I remember. Maybe the chase tune had something to do with that.
I think the sculptor was voiced by Sam Riegal, Tom's VA. The voices sounded similar, to me. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

I do have to agree, They actually took their time on these two episodes, I was surprise to hear a english version of Sonia's song played in the episodes. IMO when I useually watch the original it always feel's kinda rushed but this I don't know might be me..They don't seem to be rush that much.
I definitly got a crack at the Copper and Geo cahse myself especially with Omega-xis comment "Hm hes very good!" with excitment in his voice lol.
Lyra voice actor sounds very very familer to me som reason..right when she spoke to Omega-xis with a little french acent to his name. Who voice her? And Sonia voice actor sounded familer too.. |

I don't remember if Kirbopher said who played who, but the names he mentioned were Jessica Straus (Blue from Wolf's Rain) and Wendee Lee (who is also directing the VAs, was Faye from Cowboy Bebop, Kiyone from Tenchi Muyo, Angel from Big O, among a billion other things). I believe Jessica plays Sonia and Wendee is Lyra. I might have their roles reversed, however. They sound rather similar at times in Star Force. ^^; _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

I actually like most of the dub voices. Luna (voiced by the same person who voiced Ed from Cowboy Bebop and Rika from Digimon Tamers) and Bob Copper are quite good. Omega-Xis' voice actor (Gohan) is decent too. So far it looks like they're going a fine job dubbing the series (aside from the episode skips in the Toonami marathon). _________________

NT Warrior dub was horrible (At least in Spanish. I still have nightmares about it). But this dub isn't bad, I actually like Subaru's voice xD. I haven't watched far enough to listen to Misora, but I hope they do a good job on her! |

I bring something! Sonia's song! As much as I could make out.
Fears of the unknown, I'm spending up this world (Not entirely sure.)
Even though I know that I can see the cull.
Feel inside, there's something more...
...where to the find the hope I have for...
Sometimes I wonder why...you hide.
Sometimes I dream that someday, you'll be mine.
Even in this moment I wanna hold your hands- (Lyra Note interrupts here.)
There it is. If anyone with better hearing can look into the first verse, go ahead, cause I know that the first two lines aren't 100% correct.
The subject of the original song involved two friends, IIRC, so I guess the theme was somewhat preserved. Not too shabby Viz. Pity it didn't dub EXE. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

.....Sonia sounds.....like Barbie.
Atleast when she's talking, I think. Lyra atually is what I expected. I think Sonia's song is too slow, and her singing voice is too low as well. Also, I wasn't suprised when they ripped out the Ramen, and implanted it with a cheeseburger reference.
The more I listen too it, the more I like the theme when used as the ending, except for the "MegaMan" at the end. Still sounds like shit as an opening though. _________________
