As well as everywhere else in the world...
It's a shame that even the manga is highly edited, and in some places, needlessly. _________________ "There is no coincidence, only Hitsuzen" Yuko, xxxHolic

How many volumes did it get up to? I haven't been keeping count, still waiting on 13. They didn't edit any pictures in the US-released manga, did they? _________________

Strangely enough, they maintained the attack name "Dark Messiah" in volume 5. _________________

Heavily edited? The english manga was the most intact piece of RockmanEXE we ever received over here. The only minor changes were some of the names and swear words. Other than that, the main dialouge and every piece of artwork were kept completely intact.
I'm really sad it ended too... the last four or five volumes felt completely rushed. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. When you go talk to them, it doesn't go so well." - Miyamoto

I thought it felt rushed as well, but I also thought that that was just me.
Is it like that in both versions? _________________

For me personally, the whole manga took a nosedive after Pharoahman. Repetitive storylines, deus ex machina to the extreme, rushed story details... And don't even get me started on the bastardization that calls itself the Ryuusei no Rockman manga.
But I do like it showing us the Alpha Revolt that was mentioned in EXE3. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Well, personally, I only liked it around the begining... but around Volume 4/5, I started liking it less and less... I dunno why, but as others have said, it was pretty rushed. It's almost like Ryo Takamisaki didn't want to do it, and tried getting it done as fast as possible. ( Look, that's just the vibe I'm getting, 'K? If you liked it, they don't let my opinion sway you. )
Or maybe I just don't like manga that has more action that humor, and/or no balance between the two either. I mean, sure, the battles were drawn excellently... but I personally think there wasn't much in character development. At least, nothing quite noticable. But that's just me, and that's probably just how shouen manga is. ^^;
So, yeah, I don't exactly 'love' the manga... but I'm still waiting for Vol. 13 to see how it all ends. ( Whenever I read a good story, I don't stop til I see it to the end, even if I gotta wait a while to read up again. And yes, I never read those manga reviews that are on the forums. ) _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

I also thought it was kind of rushed but the ending to the series wasn't too great was it? With the 10 minute thing and all. |

I don't know the exact timing, but if I understand it right, the manga started going downhill about the time they got to EXE3, which is about the time that the anime would have started up.
So personally, I've always figured that the the anime stole Ryo's thunder and he had to work around them, rather than being able to do things the way that he had been up to that point. |

Mmm...as I recall (and I was buying them as they came out in Japan), only volume 1 one of the manga was out by the time the anime started its run.
I believe the anime coincided with the release of EXE 2, actually; came just a couple of months after. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

i agree with Ryo., usually viz just edits the swears in manga....not the pics or the contents ^^.

I'm so sad that it's finished. 13 volumes just... doesn't seem enough for me XP I wanna read more...
In my place, it's kinda hard to find the manga here.
So, I bought the Malay Language version, that was edited in my country for only 5 ringgit.
It's kinda weird reading them speak Malay..
And the name of the chips and so on was... Translated to Malay so sometimes it's kinda confusing _________________ Your voice seems to freeze reaching me...

I also agree with Ryouko.
Here, in Indonesia, all of the 13 volumes had been published. Luckily, i got them all.
I think the rushing part is after EXE 3 or so. And EXE 5 part is just a few. While EXE 6 is just a quick re-visit to the Underground Area (If i'm not mistaken) _________________ Your last word will become the word that will always be remembered by anybody |

I have 1-12 and can't wait to read 13, I've certainly enjoyed the manga a lot, and I too think Viz did a good job translating it. And of course, just like how I felt when I beat EXE 6, and how I felt watching the last episode of Beast +, I'm of course going to be very sad reading the manga's ending as well. Rockman EXE just still has so much potential everywhere, it's truly a bummer seeing it end so suddenly. The manga's story though, got a little far fetched with the power battles though if you ask me. Seems like every time Rockman gets a new power, a bad guy comes out of nowhere and is unaffected by it, causing Rockman to get ANOTHER new power. But maybe that's just traditional with this style of manga. _________________

Hai gaiz!
I ordered Volume 5 & 7, because from what I read here on REO, there is a big Forte awesomeness in this two volumes(+ Saito Rockman in the fifth one).
But, have I done the right thing?
SuperDanny: Actually, it's pretty common in these type of manga/comic. I remember watching/reading few things which were going by this kind of formula. Like Power Rangers for example. : D |
