Hey all, I just got a new Halo3 Xbox360 so I thought I would take pics and post them here for the unboxing!
This one here is the first pic of the box fresh and unopened.
The top of the box showing what all is inside!
The back of the box!
I SHALL CALL HIM MINI ME!
The Front of halo 3 360 box next to my halo 3 Zune box
The Back!
THE UNBOXING!

Master chief takes a quick glance over the whole thing.
Under the hood!
Just if you did not notice I'm a halo fan and I can't wait for halo3. _________________

Halo 3 is the most ridiculously overrated game in existence.
Also, pretty cool looking Xbox. _________________

Because you've played it! B)
Anyways, I picked my H3360 up, too :D I like it! Now I just need the transfer cable. X3
Did you guys get your copies in yet? D: We did. I was hugging the box for like 5 minutes. Epic~
I've also basically gone dark to avoid spoilers, seeing as they're rampant [much like a certain AI lolololol], so I'm down to neoGAF and the Xbox.com forums. D: I even stopped coming here!

Now that the game's out, how long will we have to wait before it comes out for PC?
It took them three years to bring Halo 2 to the PC. _________________

Didn't get it, but a good friend of mine got a copy for himself and dragged me over for the co-op.
So, first time thoughts: I honestly have mixed feelings about it. We've beaten the third mission so far (don't worry, no spoilers), and the semi-confusing storyline has been solved somewhat. The missions themselves are a bit more interesting this time around, but you still have to strain your ears to hear what's going on over the regular sounds of combat. This is made more difficult by how chatty fighters on both sides have become, even moreso than before, which surprised me.
The story itself requires that you've played the previous games through in their entirety as it drops you right where Halo 2 left off without any sort of backstory; my buddy hasn't played either in awhile and spent half of the first two missions asking me to act as his refresher, thus causing us to miss a few of those story-related transmissions because they popped up while I was filling him in.
One note about the campaign that my friend asked me to include, as it was a big plus for him, is the fact that co-op puts both Chief and the Arbiter in playable positions right from the get-go. While it doesn't make too much of a difference to me, it is nice to atleast be something other than mirror images of each other, and people will address you differently depending on who you are, though this usually just means they'll substitute the word "Arbiter" for "Master Chief/Demon". And (minor nit picky detail) while he's present in all of the cutscenes, I just wish the Arbiter was included in conversations a bit more; what's the point of having him around if he's just gonna stand there silently?
Combat is pretty much the same as the previous Halos, though the rearranged buttons mean you'll fumble around a bit and spend some time standing around trying to figure out how to arrange and load your weapons. There was one major aspect of combat that irked me, and that's the amount of damage you take. You'll go down pretty quick if you come under concentrated fire, but it's about the same as it is in Gears of War, so it's not that bad. The problem then comes in trying to keep yourself alive in those situations. In Gears, you have plenty of evasive maneuvers you can execute to get yourself behind cover safely and avoid further damage until you heal up. In Halo, sadly, you're forced to fumble around for something to stand behind and usually end up in a corner turned into swiss cheese. That's about it for the differences, but it's enough to cause some significant frustrations, even more I'm sure if there wasn't somebody around to revive me. You could always pick up one of those new-fangled Bubble Shields, but as you can only carry one piece of equipment around at a time and there's atleast half a dozen different ones you can find, the off-chance that you've got a spare Bubble Shield is pretty slim...
Overall? It's a fun game, but it's not the shooter perfection that all the hypesters are making it out to be. And I'm (I think, I heard somewhere that the campaign is nine missions long) a third of the way through the game and still waiting for those big plot reveals and explanations that Bungie's been talking about. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

This game is AMAZING. it's exceeded everything I thought it would be.
I beat Legendary in 3 parts, each with either 2 or 3 other people. Let me say, the nods to the 'ancient' lore from the book and even before that is AMAZING. All of Cortana's little speeches are so freaking cool.
The ending as well was completely satisfying, and still leaves a hole for more books and such, which will be awesome.
All the references in terms of design to Halo 1 were great. Silent Cartographer :D I thought all the levels were a blast to play, especially those...bigger ones, with multiple people playing with you.
I haven't really gotten into Multiplayer much, but what I have played is totally awesome. Unfortunately, what kills it is that I constantly get Shotty Snipers to play, which sucks because I generally don't touch either of them unless I have to. My favorite weapon is the Splaser, which was missing from most of the campaign, save The Covenant.
All in all, this game is a total 10/10, and I'll be playing it for years. :P My GT is Sai kun. Look me up! :D _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |

There's Ghosts of Onyx, but what I was referring to was The Cortana Letters. Just google it and you'll find them. They're...interesting, and even more so now that she references them in-game.
She also makes a reference to Fall of Reach, if you remember the part where Dr. Halsey first meets John and asks, "Do you like games?", and Cortana asks the same later in the game. Also: "Don't look at me! I'm just her shadow...". I liked that one. :P _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |
