Takahashi's style doesn't stand out much from the multitude of other anime styles, but his (I'm operating under the assumption Akira Takahashi is male until proven otherwise) style is very consistant, and he can do some decent fight scenes.
Nomoto, on the other hand, is all over the place. Sometimes, like in 40, it's rather pretty and easy on the eyes, but in other cases, like say well... most of his/her other episodes, especially Beast 7, there are proportion and perspective issues, as well as flat out poorly drawn scenes and people. The style just doesn't work for me at all, and I'm made no secret of my opinion that Nomoto is the weakest director of the bunch. I'd take Takahashi and all the other old directors from EXE over Nomoto any day. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Last that I checked, the artistic directors only make the main shots of the anime, and then there's a whole team that has to draw the frames in between. Wouldn't that just mean that Nomoto has the weakest of all the animator teams? _________________ SPOILER:

That doesn't change the reality that the style is sloppy and inconsistant to begin with. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Maybe so, but I referred to the still shots, and that's mostly caused by a lack of animation, and not just a sloppy style... _________________ SPOILER:

Take note that Nomoto does that more than the other two.
No matter how pretty a pan is artwise, when it's not needed, it looks incredibly lazy to the viewer. Most of the time, a simple explosion would suffice. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Yeah... Well, sorta. It's a confusing situation, one that I never fully understood. Since EXE, there's been four art directors all with very similar art styles, sometimes indistinguishable from one another, and they were always responsible for a majority of the episodes. In EXE, there was Taro Ikegami (who did episodes like EXE 2, 6, 10, 14...)
In Axess, Taro returned, but he was literally ALWAYS paired up with Yasuo Shimizu (and together, they did episodes like Axess 2, 4, 6, 10...). The art style was obviously a bit different (a bit "squishier"), but still had remnants of Taro's style.
Then it got weird in Stream. While Taro and Yasuo still paired up often (like in episodes 3, 6, 9, 11...), Taro also started to pair up with then-new-addition Nomoto Masayuki (like in episodes 18, 22, 24, 27). Taro even had a short stint with some other guy named Oshima Satoshi for episode 25.
But then... Those three assistants started doing episodes independently of Taro, like Yasuo's 30, 32, 33... Nomoto's 35, 36, 38... And Oshima's 30. (Yet, however, Taro never branched off and did episodes alone like he did in EXE.)
Then, in Beast, both Taro and Oshima vanished, and Yasuo and Nomoto worked independently to do episodes. Yasuo's examples include 2, 5, 8... Nomoto's includes 3, 7, 10...
When Beast+ rolled around, Nomoto was dropped, and only Yasuo was left to do episodes in that style. Now, Ryusei has appeared, and Yasuo has been traded out for Nomoto.
Innit odd? _________________

A semi-bad news for Ryuusei fans:
It's been announced at OhaColosseum that Saru Get! You 2nd will be replaced by Duel Masters Zero next week.
Ryuusei's still going to be ten minutes long _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

Well, the weekday Oha announced yesterday that the old Lets&Go anime will be taking over the weekday 5-minutes-a-day slot, too.
That and this 10-minute version of Duel Masters will feature the same animation style as SaruGet!You (cel-shaded 3D). _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

Hm, too bad. I kinda want a full opening and ending. That would fill an empty space inside. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

What I meant was that it would've been nice if Tribe got a full timeslot.
1:30 minute Opening
11 minutes of footage
2-3 second eyecatchs
10-11 minute footage
1-1:30 minute Ending
30 second episode preview
It just seems so... natural. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

AMEN. I love Ryuusei and all, but 10 minutes is just too short. The episodes could do with more fleshing out, like the Denpa Henkan animation ( could be come more like Cross Fusion?) and the fight scenes. |

The Denpa Henkan sequence is considerably shorter than Cross Fusion sequence...LETS COMPARE THEM:
The Cross Fusion sequence from Stream 41...which isn't actually full...takes 24 seconds.
The full Denpa Henkan takes 11 seconds. _________________

Exactly. With a half an hour time slot, we could have an awesome stretched out Denpa Henkan animation. *SQUEE* I loved Misora's Denpa Henkan, it was awesome. Now if only Subaru could have one too. |

I think he meant something more in the vein of Misora, Luna, and Gonta's henshins, as opposed to being bear-hugged. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Exactly what I meant. Why did someone like Gonta get a cool Henshin sequence when Subaru's is like 2 seconds long? Just doesn't make sense... |

I actually kinda like Subaru's. The henshins in EXE were a little too long, with Axess being SO long, took like forever. I was quite happy in Stream with the new PET, that gave a cooler, speedier henshin.
Misora and Luna are -keyword- GIRLS. Girls -> Magical girl -> Magical girl henshin with ribbons and such things. The bear hug is... c'mon let's be honest, something a little less wussy than just standing still for a bunch of time with straps, flames, or whatever wrapping around your body to turn into armor afterwards. _________________ SPOILER:

The guy henshins are all relatively short for that reason, which is rather appropriate to me. I quite like Subaru's transformation the way it is. If the episodes were longer, I'd much rather be watching a good plot development or battle with minimal pans, rather than extended henshins and fillers.
It's rather disappointing that the episodes aren't longer, but it's probably for the best... *sigh* _________________ "There is no coincidence, only Hitsuzen" Yuko, xxxHolic
