One Piece Manga/Anime -spoilers inside-

Currently reaching the end of the Little Garden Arc, and it's turned out to be quite good. A little slow until the Baroque Works got involved, but after that it's been quite action packed. Though... After everyone broke out of the Candle Set, they should've had a giant arrow pointing to Nami reading ''Fanservice,'' since we all know it wasn't blatant enough already. *rolls eyes*

Gee, the anime goes through endings like they're peanuts. Two in the space of only ten episodes or so.

They took the ending out and made the intro a bit more longer than Usual.

Thought I'd revive this due to some AWESOME new developments. Odz...Odz is just great. Brooke being connected to Laboon was perfect, and cemented him as a really, really great character regardless of whether he joins or not. And the newest chapter was truly amazing, with Franky building that bridge and also:

That Perona face is amazing. I think I almost died laughing the first time I saw it.

Really looking forwards to some of the upcoming fights too, great to see Ussop finally getting a one on one again.

Due to Luffy's statement that they'll drag Brooke onto their ship if they need to, it looks to be a given that he'll be the next crewmate. So the fights begin to reclaim the shadows. Luffy vs Moria should be starting soon, and I hope Zoro gets his next katana from that samurai.

I've covered a lot of ground in the anime since my last post here, and am currently wading through Skypiea. Long Skypiea. The fight with Ohm should be starting within the next few episodes, so I'll look forward to that. I can't wait until I finally get to the CP9 Saga and beyond.

This week's chapter was excellent as well, I'm very, very happy to see Usopp get some action, and Zoro getting that awesome black sword would be excellent.

I love One Piece! My favorite characters are Kaku, Jyabura, Kumadori, Chopper, Franky & Spandam, he's the best xD.
The Water7 & Enies lobby arcs are my absolute favorites.

Alright guys, most of the fighting is over at this point (Zoro, Chopper, Robin, and Usopp all got great fights, whilst Sanji's fight was exceedingly boring), and did anyone notice the bounty posters on Odz's arm in the new chapter? Perhaps the Strawhats will be able to "reprogram" Odz to attack Moria by putting a picture of him on Odz's arm (perhaps a badly drawn Luffy picture?).

Question: Did the first part of Enies Lobby (pre Justice Tower) feel repetitive and somewhat draggy in the manga? It sure does in the anime, what with the six minute long recaps at the beginning of the episodes, and the various shots of the Franky Family bulldozing through marines. I mean, there're only so many times you can show an explosion with bodies flying around before it gets irksome.

The fight with Blueno was decent, I thought, but it was missing something. Not attacks, as the anime added some I hear (most notably Gomu Gomu no Missile. That looked painful). Ah well, I'm actually going to watch the recap fillers, if for nothing more than to remind myself of how much better the animation looked back then, before the anime tried to emulate Oda's new artstyle and failed.

Enies Lobby was extremely drawn out (which is a terrible thing, since EL was very long in the first place), but in the manga towards the very end (namely Luffy vs. Lucci) it was drawn out, as opposed to the invasion of the island.

I still say Nami vs. Kalifa is the worst thing that's ever happened in One Piece.

Oda was sick apparently.

So, I've finished the flashback episodes. It was nice to relive some moments that I saw way back in February.

Now comes the art style commentary. While the old style was much more consistant than the new one, it wasn't as vibrant and colorful, and it's always nice to have colorful stuff to look at. I think the big reason the art is poorer now is because Oda's new style seems much more harder to emulate than the old one. Characters look quite different, and everything has quite a bit of detail. Plus, while Oda's art evolved over a period of time, the anime, to me, appears to have changed it all at once, with not so good results.

The next filler arc, Icehunter, looks interesting. Hopefully another G8 and not a Post Alabasta. At the rate I'm watching, I should be close to catching up by the time the anime gets around to Thriller Bark.

Yeah, Nami vs. Kalifa was pretty bad. Not really very interesting, and the dialogue kept making me go ''Wha?'', and not in the good way. I keep getting teased with the short clips of Luffy and Lucci's fight. One Piece finally gets an honest to goodness fistfight, and people go on about it being too much like DBZ? Please, it's fast paced, refreshing, and those segments are animated better than the entire episode they appear in!

@Zero Beat. I found it when I was googling for One Piece images to find something for my new avatar. Can't remember what I googled though. There was more to the picture, but I had to crop most of it to fit in 100x100 pixels. Unless I see something that'll change my mind within the next week or so, I'm probably gonna switch back to my old Tsukasa one.

Can you say best chapters since the beginning of the EL invasion?

Because I can. The last two or three chapters have been absolute gold, Odz and the fighting against him has been interesting and a lot of fun to read. Especially with Franky's instant staircase and SPIN ON! CHOUGINGA STRAWHAT.

Just gotta say, I absolutely love Odz and Moria. Really hope we get to see at least Moria somehow appear again after this arc.

The Japanese version got a new opening which I love to pieces...and it specifically mentions "make him one of us"; referring to Brook. \o\
