And Jeebus, when did TUS finally decide to get off its rump and catch up with its Ryuusei anime coverage? And I just finished capping 40 screens!

And to Drk-X's credit, he did at least catch up last week and posted what he had for all those missing weeks. Even if we didn't all know he had a handicapable injury that we should have been concerned...

Yeah, I only did the caps this time around to sate the excitement for at least a little while as a teaser (with how excited *I* was for this episode, I figured no one else would want to wait) before you put up all the hundreds of high quality screencaps that we love you for. That, and I thought it'd be cute to show people a part of the NicoDouga experience:)

But thanks for the link to your caps robo. At the very least, it gave me a chance to raid your gallery...er, um....save a bunch of your art that I hadn't seen before. Smile Wink

You're the one who's going to be taking like what, 300+ caps for this episode. If anything, I should be thanking you. And dude, stay outta the rest of my Photobucket~ Don't abuse the privilege, man!XD

This episode just blew me away... The fight scenes were beautifully done, and Misora and Subaru finally meet! Not to mention the great cliffhanger they left us.

Was I one of the few people that figured out that Tsukasa in the intro was neither a girl nor harp note? :3

Well, I played the game before watching the anime, so I knew Tsukasa wasn't a girl and Misora was Harp Note. But honestly, Tsukasa doesn't look anything like a girl...

True, he just looks like a very girly boy. I think it's the face and hair that makes him look like it. I had a similar problem with a yugioh character recently.

The episode is now available on YouTube,

*EDIT: I saw Mi already posted it in the downloads section, but I'll keep it attached in this message, unless someone wants me to remove it*

The episode was great, although the fight was a bit short it definitely blew me away. A worthy sequel to the first fight Rockman and Gemini had in episode 17 and equally as good as the one in episode 26. I liked this style just as much as Shingo Adachi's awesome work. Yes, the characters were drawn thin in some instances, but during the battles I didn't notice it one bit. The art was good but the animation simply awesome. It was really a desperate fight in which Rockman had to go all out. Also, Gemini is the the first opponent who actually had to force Rockman to do his best with his Elemental Cyclone, as Gemini managed to hold its own for a while, a lot longer than any of the other FM's first in the past.

It was a great episode of which I really will try to get a HQ version. Gemini rocked, Rockman, eh, rocked, well you know what I mean.

Plus you also have to remember that Gemini has "Tsukasa" as his vessals while the others don't have any one to Denpa with. Since the denpa forms are stronger with humans I can see how he manage to hold his own ground with the Elementral Cyclone.

I too agree that this was animated very well..I am wondering how..hmm whats his name in Megaman Star force in the last part..well you know who in the anime or he might just be a "DS" only apperance.

By all means, keep it up. It just means that more people will be exposed to and able to enjoy the episode, which is the entire point people upload these videos to Youtube and the like in the first place!

Video took ages to load... I've exceeded my monthly limit ^^;

I really enjoyed this episode. The battle was excellent.

Yes, it seemed quite fitting to me. ^_^

FINALLY Misora and Subaru meet as humans! She seems to like him as a person, but I guess it could just be normal curiousity about meeting someone 'new'. I don't suppose, being an Idol and all, that Misora gets to interact much with kids her own age. Must be nice to finally be able to talk to someone whom she can relate to. And the same goes for Subaru. It'd do him good to confide in someone his own age. I wouldn't really say that Luna-tachi and Subaru were exactly friends anyways... more like extremely well known aquaintances.

There was something offputting about the art in the "quiet" scenes... it was something to do with the faces, but I can't quite figure out what put me off about them. I did notice the slimness of various characters too, but it wasn't so bad as to detract from what was going on, IMO.

Again, here's me looking forward to the next episode! The preview shows Harp Note activating a Battle Card (Fire Sword??), which is a first for her!

I haven't been watching the anime much cause of lack of interest and clicked the link merely out of boredom, but YEESH. Gemini looks likes he's out for blood! I really found this episode to be animated very well, but the way the summary read, it sounded like a nice long 21 minute anime episode, so when I actually watched it, it felt very rushed Sad

If you mean Cepheus, you may never know. He may actually come in the last episode to patch up things with Earth.

If I'm not mistaken, a couple episodes ago, ep 51 I belive, Cepheus actually contacted the other FMians to stop their assault.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I did look over the screencaps. The art was alright, but the tooth-pickness was a little annoying; a few times I was wondering if they had modelled these poses with Technics or something, because the person's limbs looked about that thick.

I do, however, like the more form-fitting Pegasus armor. It looks better than the bulky way Fire Leo and Green Dragon have been drawn in the past.

It's about time. Although the FMs have used Cards in the past, it was done very shoddily; letting the others use Cards should level the playing field somewhat and we may get back to some of the good ol' swordplay scenes of EXE.

And that Card looks more like Tidal Edge, not Blazing Edge, (Aqua Sword) to me; which surprises me because I didn't really see Harp Note as the kind to use blades... but who knows. (Don't ask me for the Japanese names of those Cards, I don't have them.)

And if this means that the Predation scenes are a thing of the past... I think I'm going to miss them. I've grown fairly fond of WarRock's obsession with card-chompin'.

This episode was nicely done. I kinda agree with many of the points being talked about here. I wonder, though. How are Luna, Gonta, and Kizamaro going to react now that they know Subaru's identity? This actually would impact Luna more than anyone else because she has had a crush on Rockman since RnR 4.

I really doubt they know about Subaru's identity as Rockman, at least thus far. They're obviously starting to put 2 and 2 together, but disbelief is obviously hindering the obvious conclusion. I'll give them at least 5 more episodes before it becomes absolutely undeniable.

Edit: w00t! I finally got my custom rank! Now to change my whole schtick.

Nope. I think Subaru will come right out and say it at the end of episode 55. Because the Three Stooges will come right up to him and demand to know the truth. If he tries to dodge the question, Kizamaro will bring up the fact that Tsukasa called Rockman Subaru. At that point, there'll be no avoiding it.

Well, now that I've seen the episode in full, I have this to say: amazing.

The artwork was very, very good, very detailed. The characters' hair actually moved! Even Gemini Spark's! The swords actually looked like they were made from energy! The movements were fluid. The fight was really well done too, it even used the same music from the Cygnus Wing fight. The kids were a bit skinny, but as far as anime characters go, they looked fine. I hope Nao sticks around, and doesn't become another one-shot wonder.

So, content-wise, pretty good. The scene with Subaru and Misora was cute, and Utagai was as humorous as ever. The Star Carrier looks kinda ugly though. I liked the Wave Scanner better.

So, Andromeda next week. Hope it actually does something other than maybe releasing that virus horde in the preview. I hope Shimizu steps up to the plate, and does a decent job.

As for the late FMs, well, I'll wager that they'll be restored after Andromeda is destroyed, and will stay on Earth, probably becoming allies or neutral parties throughout the rest of the show. Cancer already seems to be on that road.

Wow. I just saw it, and the fight scenes were really awesome. Misora using Battle Cards? Yay, now someone else gets to use them!

The fight animation was really well done. And it looks like the ice is finally breaking (No, I'm not talking about Andromeda).

I look forward to the next ep. It'll be interesting to see Harp Note use Battle Cards.

I don't know what you people are talking about. I think this episode's art was pure perfection in every conceivable way. Hell, I like it more than Adachi's. Too slim? Not in the slightest. I just think everyone's spoiled by the fact the other art directors makes everything so squishy...

Oh, and I'm nearly positive this artist has done work for EXE. I want to say that Axess episode where Dark Blues chases Anetta through the Sci-Labs, but don't quote me on that...

Well, I didn't really notice the skinniness of the characters till when Misora and Subaru got the Star Carrier. Their arms were pretty tiny then =/. Apart from that, I agree that it was beautifully animated (especially the Gemini Spark fight, it was lovely).

After having actually seen the episode... eh, you really don't notice the slimness when the characters are actually moving. It's only when you take a screencap and look at it that they look a tad too thin, but in motion it looks really good.

I do have one small gripe which prevents me from praising this episode the way everyone else does. Nao took a few scenes from other episodes: the double-card toss, the elemental cyclone, and Ice Pegasus' appearance (I'm probably wrong on this one, but the first frame looks like a resized recycle) were all taken from other eps. While the rest of the episode kinda makes up for it, the reuse of footage just grates on me and prevents the episode from hitting Adachi's level of perfection in my eyes.

Quote:

I noticed that too. I think it's due to the fact that Nao's style is much more... angular than the other directors. Nao seems to like sharp angles and ridges (Sadly, Harp Note's skirt is the best example I can point to for this. In a couple of places it almost looks pleated because of the way it's drawn. The other example is the character's knees or chins.) more than the other directors do. I think it's that sharpness which detracted from the impact of the emotional scenes as the characters looked more 'chiseled' than we're used to seeing them.

But regardless, let's just hope that Nao sticks around for a while. I'd like to see him/her again- especially if it means that Namoto gets shafted a few episodes here and there. Nothing against Namoto... but s/he's done too much of Ryuusei for my tastes.

That's really unfair. First of all, I hardly believe it's Nao's choice whether or not to reuse footage from other art director's. Second of all, don't put Adachi on such a pedestal; he's done the exact same thing in a large number of instances. It's just a common anime practice.

Yeah, the whole of Ryuusei has like 3(?) different animations for Gemini Thunder. Reusing footage is convenient and far more practical. If it looks good, why not use it again?
