Let me explain about the Ultimate Chimera...Mother 3 spoilers, buku.
It was created in the Chimera Lab and it escaped. It runs through the building while Lucas is looking for Salsa, a monkey he helped when he was a child. If it touches you, you die automatically. It can't be killed, HOWEVER, it can be turned off by pressing the switch on it's back. Salsa turned it off which allowed you to escape. However, the little bird on it's head turns it back on. It then appears in the bathroom maze in New Pork City when you're on one of the many 100th floors in the Empire Porky building. _________________

New Pork City looks like it's going to be a new favorite. Temple was always a popular choice among my friends because it allowed a lot of space for battles, and while New Pork seems to be more open than Temple (and thus easier to die on) it should nonetheless provide the elbow-room needed for some truly epic battles. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

New Porky city looks seriously rocking.
Haha, Sonic's little pose and arrogant smile are terrible, what a terrible train wreck of a character. There's a reason why Link or Samus can't talk. _________________

Correction (sorry): will I be able to use that cheap Blaster combo to get the same distance from before? Also, what could possibly be the best distance anyone ever pulled off? |

I noticed during one of the screencaps that Ike did one of Marth's Smash moves from Melee..Maybe he really is out?
Okay. Now back on track here...Umm...New Pork City looks rather weird...then again, that's Earthbound for 'ya.Home Run Contest is win for Brawl, especially since you can't fall off the arena.I was ticked off when I fell out of it when trying to get a good score. _________________ Things are going to be changing soon in the next few months.Stay tuned for updates and the like. |

Giant pig stage could be fun. And homerun can also be fun as well. Online and co-op options are great. And didn't samus talk once in one game? |

Yoshi is easily the best character to do the Homerun contest with. His midair bicycle kick, when done a few times, can bring the sandbag up to 100%. When followed by a bat Smash, I think the highest I've gotten is somewhere around...2400 feet? Been so long since I played, I forget what my record was, but it was pretty damn high. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

The home run contest's co op involving online makes me wonder if Subspace Emmisary Co op can be done on wifi. _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

Cut&Pasted from Seiko's posts over at On-Air.
Quote: | Anyway, there's been a ship-load of new information pouring in ever since gaming sites got to play the demo of Brawl that's been floating around at conferences...
First of all, the available characters to use were: Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Fox, Pikachu, Diddy Kong, Pit, Meta Knight, Ike, Peach, Yoshi, Sonic, and Bowser. However, I've only seen any gameplay videos of Mario, Link, Samus, Diddy, Meta Knight, a bit of one with Peach, Yoshi, and Sonic. No one seems interested in playing as Pit or Ike... but I hear Meta Knight is godly. :D
The stages available were Battlefield, Delfino, Bridge of Eldin, Norfair (from Metroid; yes, new stage, but I didn't get to see anyone play on it), Yoshi's Island, Halberd, Lylat Cruise, Pokémon Stadium 2, Castle Siege, Smashville, and Skyworld.
Alright, so, items, new and old: the paper Fan, the Beam Sword (now blue, and it doesn't grow and shrink; constant size), the Motion-Sensor Bomb, the Fire Flower, the Super/Poison Mushrooms are definitely still in, the Party Ball, the Capsule, and the Heart Container now looks like it does in Twilight Princess... and I also saw a Spring Board (from the original SMB) and what appeared to be a Gordo from Kirby. Also, although I'm not sure if it was an item or an Assist Trophy, you can definitely summon a Metroid to latch onto your opponents.
Some new Assist Trophies: a fleet of Advance War troops (dawning their GBA sprites), Jill from Drill Dozer, and (to some people's dismay) Little Mac of Punch-Out.
Super Sonic is definitely Sonic's Final Smash. He basically transforms and can fly all over the screen. All he does is ram people, dealing heavy damage and sending them flying. An article at 1-Up also mentioned... but did not show... Peach's FS. "Princess Peach has a large screen-filling one that starts off with two mirror images of her showing up on the right and left sides, blowing a kiss of rose petals, followed by round, fuzzy peaches raining from the sky, effectively wiping out everything in sight."
Also, on the subject of Smash Balls...
First of all, and I can't believe this needs clarity because it seemed obvious to me from day one... Yes, more than one Smash Ball will appear during a match, and yes, you can use your Final Smash more than once a match. And we finally know exactly how it works.
When the Smash Ball appears, it flies around very sporadically. You can't just grab it. Instead, you have to beat the crap out of it to try and break it. The person who lands the "breaking hit" will get the power of the Smash Ball. Then, to activate the Final Smash, all you have to do is press your special move button (B on the Gamecube). However, if you get beat up enough before using it, you can lose the Smash Ball... So, there, see? Balance.
Also, got to see some old and new character's special moves. Samus still has her Charge Shot, Missile, and Screw Attack. Mario still has his Super Cape (the rest of his moves had been seen). The player using Yoshi opted to use nothing but his Down special move, the Yoshi Bomb, which is still the same as before. I also got to read about (but not see) Diddy's other two special moves. Side special has him pounce an enemy and basically claw at their face (sweet). Down special makes him drop banana peels. (Meh.)
And finally, characters still got different colors, but like Melee introduced, some also have slightly different costumes available. I got to see Mario retained most of his colors (including the Wario outfit) and even got a nice white-hat/red-overalls Fire Flower scheme this time, and Meta-Knight got this totally sweet "Dark Meta Knight" costume along with standard blues, greens, reds, whites... Yoshi got all of his colors from Melee (still no black or white Yoshies dammit), and though I didn't see it myself, one gamer claims Link has a "Dark Link" costume. The costumes are strictly aesthetic, of course.
Double post FTW.
I saw some more videos, and I also found a handy topic on GameFAQs that compiles all of the gameplay videos floating around right now. Check it out! Some are hard to see, but others are crystal clear.
http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=928518&topic=38860863
Anyway, here's some more things I can confirm. As for old character's moves, Pikachu still has his Side Special: Skull Bash and Down Special: Thunder, Yoshi still has his Standard Special: Egg Lay and Side Special: Egg Roll, Donkey Kong still has his Standard Special: Giant Punch, Bowser still has Up Special: Whirling Fortress, all of Samus's moves are in-tact, and we also got to see a new move for Pit... his Side Special is the move where he attaches his blade together and whirls them around while moving forward for multiple hits. Oh, and I didn't really see it myself, but it seems you can make out Ike's Side Special in one video (it's very hard to see), but it's apparently "like the Fox Illusion, but no trailing images, Ike is slashing as he does it, and you can charge it". Or, what I heard: it's not like Marth/Roy's Side Special, thus Ike isn't ripping off their moveset. (Yayz! Hopes for Marth!)
Other than that, there's some footage on Norfair, you can also see Peach use her Final Smash (it basically just puts everyone to sleep and makes peaches fall everywhere that you can eat to recover life... lame), and there's three more items: Star Rod and Bob-omb return from Melee, and there's a new "Smart Bomb" that basically makes a big ass "Armageddon" explosion. You can see it a few times in the videos; it looks like a ball with a "B" on it. (I think it's from Metroid, but don't quote me on it. The guys talking keep calling it a Smart Bomb.)
Oh, and if anyone is eager, you can see Giga Bowser in one of them. He's scarier than in Melee, but the guy controlling him totally sucks and doesn't get time to do anything with him before the match ends. Oh, and you can hear Link's voice. It's his Twilight Princess voice, not his Ocarina of Time one... and his sword slashes seem a lot faster and wider. (Good for me; he was far too sluggish in Melee. Hopefully he'll be a good balance between Link and Young Link so we can only have one elf guy garbed in a green tunic this time around...)
I have much interest in Pit, Ike, Diddy, Lucas, Meta Knight... Damn, most of the Brawl line-up looks a lot more interesting than the guys we got in Melee. But I'm still playing as Pikachu first. It's just tradition for me.
Also, there's a hands-on report over here at Destructoid that reveals a lot of new stuff. Although the guy is obviously not all that well-read on previous SSB installments and Dojo updates (claiming things that are new to Brawl that were in Melee, or citing things that weren't shown on Dojo but were, for example)... I still trust the authenticity of it.
http://www.destructoid.com/hands-on-with-super-smash-bros-brawl-48983.phtml
Highlights? Ike's Final Smash, ZSS's Final Smash (which brings her armor back, as I assumed it would), Screw Attack (item) is back and refined, a character from Sin & Punishment as an AT (which is disappointing; I wanted one playable), and some other little things, like that you can still perform a mid-air jump after using an aerial dodge, unlike Melee where an aerial dodge acted as a recovery

Hrm... Little Mac. The punching bag being held back by a barrier sounds like it'll be fun for getting even HIGHER damage readouts, and online play for that sounds excellent. New Pork city and the chimera are gonna be a hoot. It'd be intense if one could flip the switch on its back to shut it off.
Sonic's taunt is meh, but hopefully he'll have simplistic controls so I can use him. I never have been one for masterful smashing. Heck, I never even knew how to use a smash attack until that update. x_x _________________
