Tribe 1 (A New Chapter of Spoilers)

We open with a jet flying over the ocean. The pilot complains about the cloudy weather, but when he comes out of one, he nearly crashs into a large, floating object.

In Kodama, the Satellite Police respond to a virus attack. Instead of the Ghostbuster equipment, Goyoda uses an AMAKEN invented energy rifle to delete them outright. He laughs crazily.

Title Screen: The Legacy of Mu

At AMAKEN, Amachi and Subaru discuss how, despite the fact that Cepheus is gone, there are still plenty of viruses abound. Nothing important.

Elsewhere in AMAKEN, Luna, Gonta, and Kizamaro have new Star Carriers, and the later two are trying to make them materialize food. Utagai yells at them to stop and runs in. Materializing food is a no-no. Luan wants to materialize Rockman, and Subaru walks in. Heh heh. Luna seems to still not be able to get over the fact that he's really Subaru. More Utagai raving about how this lab is called the 'Utagai Area', and how it can materialize waves. Warrock does so, teasing Gonta and Kizamaro.

Utagai finally materializes an umbrella and starts imitating a kabuki actor, but Warrock tells him that everyone has left.

At an airport, a private jet lands. Out of it come those corporate women clones from the opening, and one heavyset man with a fierce expression and some serious bling: Gori Monjirou.

In a darkened warehouse, a coffin slowly opens. Inside is an elegantly dressed man with a cane and top hat: Hyde.

Subaru is walking around outside near a museum, when Warrock speaks up. Subaru puts on his Visualizer to see... a bright beam of light? He goes inside and zeroes in on an artifact labeled '' Sword of Berserk.'' I'll call it the Berserk Sword. Gonta, who is magically there, looks through his Carrier, and sees the strange waves too. (The Star Carrier can act like a mini Visualizer, if you recall from Ryuusei) The lights go off. This can't be good. Gori rides through the streets in a luxury limo, while Hyde drives a...hearse?!

Viruses descend on the museum. While everyone panics, Subaru knows what to do. The transforms into Rockman. The viruses cluster around the Berserk Sword, but Subaru blasts them away with a Plasma Gun, then runs forward with a Sword, but the ceiling crashes down. Blocking his way is Yeti Blizzard.

He calls the Sword an Oopart, grabs it, then leaps up through the hole in the roof. Up on the Wave Roads, someone attacks him. It's Phantom Black! He wants the Sword too! Yeti Blizzard just taunts him, even when Subaru finds them. Phantom Black uses Phantom, but Yeti Blizzard dumps some snow on it, and tears it off. Beating his chest, the monsterous yeti dumps a shitload of snow on his opponet. The Berserk Sword, however, falls. The two leap after it, but Subaru gets there first.

Unfortunately, Warrock chomps down on it, and actually eats it. Must've tasted odd, cause he looks out of sorts. Phantom Black and Yeti Blizzard vanish.

'' What should we do Subaru?''
'' I dunno...''

Preview: Subaru un-denpa henkan's in front of his house, Subaru talks to Goyoda in a police car, Subaru looks at the night sky in surprise, Orihime talks, and Bly pulls a sword from Hammerspace (seriously).

An okay set up episode. There was a new art director, but nothing really stood out beyond the Phantom Claw attack. Both Yeti Blizzard and Phantom Black are after the Ooparts, but they're not working together, Utagai's zanyness reaches new levels, and Warrock's gonna regret eating that thing.

Next week is the premire of not only the new, emo rival Solo/Bly, but of everyone's favorite wacked out geisha, Dr. Orihime! There's a new art director next week too, and the art looked very good in the preview. The rest of the month is Nomoto. Sad

I should mention that Monjirou is a mafia boss.

Phantom Black's attack is called "Phantom Claw". The other is "Phantom Slash" and he has one more, "Stick Sword".

Yeti Blizzard has "Yukidama Fall" and "Nadare Daiko".

EDIT: One more for Yeti Blizzard, his "Big Stamp" attack, though like Phantom Black's Stick Sword, it isn't shown in this ep.

One who watched too much Miami Vice, perhaps, Sketch? Boy, either they've perfected cloning in this time, or Monjirou's womenz sure had one special mother. Laughing

I didn't think there were THAT many of them. And yet none of them bothered to sit in that stretch limo with him...

Also, pretty sure Yeti Blizzard's seiyuu was Beastman's with that growl at one point. I loved Utagai's spazzing, not to mention Goyoda getting his Ghostbuster proton pack/virus vacuum cleaner upgraded. It did look kinda cool how Bly pulls that sword out of his hand in the preview.

A solid start for Tribe, with better-than-decent animation and more than a few funny scenes, most of them invloving WarRock. Laughing

The part where he swallowed the Sword was absolutely hilarious, and I'm very curious to see the repercussions of that little accident.
Definitely can't wait for the HQ.

Speaking of curiosities, it seems that Yeti Blizzard and Phantom Black aren't working together, which makes me think that Orihime and Co. aren't in cahoots with the other UMAs either.
Very interesting.

Yawr, Goyouda's new toy is awesome. :]

Yeti Blizzard/Gori Monjirou's seiyuu has never done any Rockman related roles. He was Commander Rester in Death Note though.

Quite a starter! This is getting interesting. I just hope Kizamaro will get at least some involvement with the plot like Luna and Gonta did before.

Gori's bling, well, I think that's really rich (no, not literally) considering he looks like someone from a GTA game. Hyde is quite a man. I mean, really, who drives a coffin in the morning at breakneck speeds?! I wonder if Orihime's human in her current state when we look at her in the preview? If yes, then why do we refer to as Dr. Orihime then? Shouldn't her name be different in human?

Bly. All I can say is... why does he have a sword here when he doesn't in the game? Oh, wait, I know why. IT'S MAGIIIIIIIIIC!!! Quite a pardox.

Um...Orihime is the geisha woman, who you can totally tell is human in the preview and opening. That isn't any form she's in, that's just how she looks. Geishas can have PhDs in stuff, too! And in the preview, it's just that she's not dressed like we've seen in the official art/open. I doubt it's any type of form change. Now it's still up for speculation if she's also the blue-ish (green tinted here) hooded, glowy-eyed, masked character that we thought she was from early gamecaps. The popular assumption is that's the character named Empty, but I don't think it's confirmed. But Orihime looks like a normal woman to me...other than her massive "character development" in that opening. Wink

And to DrkX, well it sounded like a pretty similar growl during that fight to me at least. Not that I've kept up on the seiyuus to really know. :/ Last week's 'Cepheus is Forte' talk made me post that!

As for her blue companion... (who we originally thought was Orihime transformed due to Phantom Black appearing to address him as "Orihime-sama" but a better screenshot shows he's actually speaking to someone behind a curtain)...I believe his name is Empty.

EDIT: Ummmm, crap, I'm actually no longer sure if I assigned the names "Hyde" and "Gori Monjirou" to the right people based on their seiyuus. Gori Monjirou made sense for Yeti Blizzard since the surname "Gori" sounded like it was meant to be a play on "gorilla" and the given name "Monjirou" for Yeti Blizzard would suit well...

But after I looked up Hyde's seiyuu again, he turns out he was Beastman.exe.....gah. Time to do some research.

LOL when Warrock swallows the Oopart. Guess that one didn't taste like chicken (which a lot of other weird stuff happens to taste like Razz

). Can't wait for Bly's and Thunder Berserker's appearances, I just love swordfights like those.

I'm not too sure I liked this premiere episode... it felt like a bunch of things thrown together and then ended up with WarRock swallowing a sword. It felt like they crammed a bunch of episodes together. o.<

I'll have to agree with that. I too felt like I was watching snippets of different episodes, rather than one cohesive story.

Now... it's time for Webb's random observations!

1) Goyouda officially scares the tar out of me. Utagai is still the man.

2) It would be hilarous if the animators sneak a picture of Narcy onto Gori's desk or something. Thank pink suit is so not him.

3) Luna's crush on Rock is still in effect... but I've got a feeling that it's going to fizzle out before long.

4) No Predation stock footage. This could be a good thing, giving the battles more fluidity. Since the card-chomping's a thing of the past, I prefer this method.

5) I miss the card-chompin'.

6) HYDE! My stars, Hyde/Phantom Black could be an amazing villian/ally IF he's done right.

7) WarRock chompin' down on the Sword of Berzerk was hilarious. It almost makes up for the new Predation method. I just hope that the sword wasn't moldy from being on display for so long.

Cool

They just give up after WarRock chows down? <_<;; That felt... wrong.

9) If Tribe On is the end result of WarRock eating the Sword, then I can't wait for him to swallow that ninja star and the dino fossil. >:D

Actually, I changed my mind about the seiyuu. Hyde/Phantom Black and Beastman.exe sound closer than Monjirou/Yeti Blizzard after all...

Just listen to him attack rawr. When he screams "Phantom Claw" and "Phantom Slash", it totally reminds me of Beastman. :]

Oh, and yay... ShoPro's site confirms Monjirou as Yeti Blizzard and Hyde as Phantom Black...yay. Too bad the artifacts they use to transform haven't been revealed yet...

Well Luna and the gang seem to be much closer in Subaru's life, now that the secret's out. Now they are hanging out at Amaken, testing out Utagai's inventions, and apparantly friendly toward War Rock since he was teasing them and they know him by name. So much for the loner Subaru, though this is probably good, as it shows character development.

It's funny, that Luna is in denial about the whole Subaru, Rockman thing, especially since she most definitely knows since she too is now familiar with War Rock as well.

Maybe that will be her plot for the season or something, since the OP and promos for Ryu2 make her look like the most important out of Subaru's school friends.

Thinking again, I HOPE they won't overdo this "Utagai area" thing like back then in Axess, with Dimensional Areas... if they're going to give up on the whole coexistant-wave-world just to smoosh our faces with endless battles in the real world, I'm going to be pissed.
