Well, Mu isn't something I remember even hearing about in school, and I didn't even remember it was mentioned in the NT Warrior manga. Unless I was just daydreaming like Netto...
If it is truly one in the same, I wonder if kids are gonna have to start complaining that through both the Ryuusei games and anime episodes, Capcom is actually making us learn! Noooo~! But at least the subject matter (both constellations and mythology) has been fun stuff that I like reading up about.
*EDIT* And I'm editing robo's art director correction into my last post, right after this edit. */EDIT* _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

I read it Chikaoka Nao, if that sounds familiar to anyone. I love Japanese--it's an on/kun pronunciation confusionfest!
EDIT: Googled it. Looks like someone who already does the 'prop design' in Ryuusei and also did the art direction for Gurren Lagann ep 3. That's promising:) |

My computer's being retarded at the moment and won't let me cut&paste, but Drk-X has Tribe's first four episode titles up on the Undersqare.
1. The Legacy of Mu.
2. The Seal of Mu.
3. Burai/Bly/Berry/Beyblade's Attack.
4. Invoke, Sword of Berzerk!
... I think we've got another Beast season on our hands. If they're bringing out the big guns of Tribe On this early in the season, what's the rest going to be like? I hope that they save enough ammunition for the rest of the season, as it'd be sad for Tribe to turn out like Stream (too few plot points, too much filler).
But this does look interesting, especially that 'Seal of Mu' episode which intrigues me greatly; perhaps Mu itself will play a greater role in the series than we all had originally though that it would?
Five bucks says that Subaru breaks out Thunder Berzerker to completely and utterly pwn Bly. _________________

Well, keep in mind that RnRM2 has 7 transformations, instead of the 3 RnRM ones. And Thunder Berserker is appearing in the anime, 1 week before the game release so it could be related to that also. And to be honest, I thought the transformations in RnRM season 1 appeared really late.

Interesting, this sounds like a good season already! The Undersquare has already posted more characters and their VA's. Burai, according to them, has Helio's voice. |

Heat Man graciously translated the summaries and the main page plot summary for me. Ch-ch-check it out!!
Ages ago there existed in the world a super-ancient civilization: Mu. The people of Mu were said control the world with the power of freely manipulating radio waves that possessed incredible scientific prowess. However, today the continent of Mu has disappeared from the surface, and only a portion remains in the form of the UMA (unidentified lifeforms), as myths and legends around the world.
The tale begins with the radio lifeforms of Mu commencing their activities; showing omens of the restoration of the long since sealed continent of Mu. The radio lifeforms unite with humans capable of transformation to search for the secret treasures of Mu, the Ooparts, and begin causing incidents all over the world.
Subaru Hoshikawa and War-Rock, having obtained one of the Ooparts, Berserk, become entangled in strife surrounding the ancient Mu civilization.
Rockman embarks on a new adventure to unwrap the mystery of the super-ancient civilization of Mu!
1 - "The Heritage of Mu" (11-03-07)
Art Direction: Yuuko Sera (new to the series)
Radio viruses appear at a museum. They are a new species of virus that hasn't appeared up until now. Subaru and WarRock, having come to the museum to search for answers, notice an large aura emitting from "Berserk" - one of the display items.
2 - "The Seal of Mu" (11-10-07)
Art Direction: Kencho Ishikawa (new to the series; previously did EXE episode 17)
Having been summoned to a certain university laboratory, Subaru meets the scientist Orihime there. Orihime tells Subaru of a plan to restore the sealed ancient continent of Mu, and in order to stop this action requests him to search for the heritage of Mu - the Ooparts.
3 - "Bly's Attack" (11-17-07)
Art Direction: Nomoto Masayuki
Suddenly a mysterious enemy attacks Warrock: Bly. Subaru transforms into Rockman and fights. Orihime explains that Bly, just like Yeti Blizzard and Phantom Black, is one more person seeking the Ooparts.
4 - "Call Forth, Sword of Berserk!" (11-24-07)
Art Direction: Nomoto Masayuki
Subaru discusses the request for the Ooparts hunt with Misora. She shows a great interest in the matter. Then, Bly appears one again and attacks them all out. Subaru and Misora transform and battle Bly, but...
5 - "The Himanara Snowman" (12-01-07)
No summary available yet. (Heat notes Himanara is probably a play on "Himalaya.") _________________

Well, I'm interested. Plus, the idea of a third(possibly not evil) human that can transform is an interesting idea. Sounds entertaining. |

For RnR 2 spoilers:
Bly's non FM form, Soro (Sorrow perhaps?) is actually from Mu, being a Mu-jin (Muian? >__<). The last living one I think. _________________

It's Solo, as in he goes it "solo", which is to be expected since he gets his power from being alone. And, yes, he is the last "Mu-jin": I call 'em Muites. xD _________________

I'll be fine with Bly as long as there isn't an overload of the cliche ''You're not alone.'' fluff. Hopefully Tribe can keep the momentum going throughout the season, unlike Beast and Ryuusei, that had so much build up, and then ground to a halt. I'm hoping that Tribe will be to Ryuusei what Axess was to EXE. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Got me the December issue of Newtype:
Episode 5 - The Snowman of Himanara
(You could say "Yeti", as that's what the "abominable snowman" is said to be)
Subaru and co. arrive at the Himanara heights for the Oopart said to be hidden there. Because of the high location, the party fell under the unforgiving coldness. They managed to avoid trouble when Lana, a girl from a nearby village, became their guide and led them to her village. The village elder gives them a warning soon after after arriving about vandalism in the nearby ruins.
Man, that was one L-O-N-G sentence. No way I could translate it without cutting it into three or four parts. Good luck to whoever else that wants to give it a shot at translating.
Episode 6 - The Mu Ruins of Himanara
It was said that in the innermost area of the cave in the Himanara heights, an ancient city of Mu sleeps. Hearing this, Subaru and co. went immediately for the cave, where they encounter Yeti Blizzard.
Suddenly it feels much colder in my room _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

Cut&Paste a go-go, Yeti. Credit to Seiko over at On-Air.
Seiko wrote: | Episode 6 "The Mu Ruins of Himanara"

There was a legend that the city of ancient Mu sleeps in the deepest section of the large cave of Himanara. Subaru which knows that faces promptly to inside the cave. Also Misora leaving work to the Cancer, you came in Himanara.
Episode 7 "Hyde and Ghost"
第7話「ハイドとゴースト」
Art Director - Nomoto Masayuki
Subaru which comes to the point of inspecting the pyramid in request for Orihime. Is, but foot was set inside the pyramid, immediately, you are threatened in some person.
Episode 8 "The Sword's Trial"
第8話「試しの剣」
Art Director - Nomoto Masayuki
Rockman where midst of fight with the Phantom Black, control of those which change to Thunder Berserk is not effective, retreats. Bly appeared there, it was indisputable and it attacked.
Episode 9 "The Truth of Dosshī"
第9話「ドッシーの真相」
No summary available. I don't know what "Dosshī" is supposed to be, but the symbols definitely read that. Your guess is as good as mine. (Considering we have "Mu" and "Himanara" and "Yukio," it could just be another new word for Tribe, like a city or something. There IS a city in Japan named Doshi, but the symbols are different.) |
Then my resulting post from yesterday...
SoloWing wrote: | This is weird. Ryuusei sort of established a loose pattern where Nomoto did the run-of-the-mill episodes and then someone else stepped in to handle the episodes with some plot-related material. But judging from the odd-ball summary, 7 and 8 might have some significance whereas 5 and 6 are standard villain-fleshing-out fodder. (Not saying that that is the case, but it's my interpretation.) This appears to be opposite that pattern.
But then, Nomoto did Tribe 3 and that wasn't half bad, so there is hope.
But anyway, we are definitely starting to pick up some serious steam here. If the Ooparts do more than just lending their power to whoever wields them, then it opens up a serious can of worms, and lays down another layer of complexity to the plot. But... it's good.
As towards Dosshi... I've got nothing definite. But I ran the word through Google and came across this page (<-- URL) which listed 'dosshi' as 'Dossi'. (My browser doesn't have the capability to display the Japanese figures, so I can't compare those. I'm going strictly off of the English words.) Now, according to Wiki, Dossi was an Italian Renaissance painter. The interesting thing is, Dossi's work drifted towards depicting mythology.
Dunno if there's a solid connection or not, but hey, it's a fun theory to toy with. |
Followed by Trina's post...
Trina wrote: | Hmm. When I stuck ドッシー into my online dictionary I got どっしり, which it says is 'bulky and heavy; massive; substantial'.
I'm going for Dosshii as a name of a person or place.
I'll un-babelize them for you Seiko. The Babelfish is really hard to read. ><
Episode 5 *
While Subaru has come to the Himanara Mountain Range searching for Ooparts, he is asked to save Raana, a girl from a cold and frozen village.
In that village they say a Yeti has been destroying the village's ruins as of late.
Episode 6
There is a legend that the city of ancient Mu sleeps in the deepest section of the large cave of Himanara.** Knowing this, Subaru immediately sets off toward the cave. Misora also comes, leaving her work to Cancer.
Episode 7
At Orihime's request, Subaru heads off to investigate the pyramid. But just as he steps inside, someone is threating the Pyramid.
...I can't really make sense of 8, I think Babelfish did that one fine in its own way. =/
Other than that, it sounds like Subaru trust Orihime somewhat if he's doing what she asks, and that Subaru has to learn to use the Tribe Force powers, unlike the Star Force where he automatically knew. Ah well, that be anime for you. I'm all for more Misora too. :D
*I saw no 'Yukio', however the kanji for Yeti came up as 雪男 Yukiotoko which is just snow man(not those kind C really.
**This is the best translated line I have ever seen by Babelfish. O: (I only replaced the 'was' with 'is'.) |
Ending with Seiko's next comment.
Seiko wrote: | My bad. I overlooked that Yukio thing. I was just going through and translating any symbols Babelfish didn't. I remember not even looking that one up... Haha...
Anyway, SoloWing: the symbols link up with the word "Dossey" on that site you gave me. I'll let you research that while I'm [s]slitting my wrists[/s] working on Black Friday. |
I haven't come up with anything definite on 'Dossey'. There's some big-time medical author named 'Dossey' who appears on every single blasted link that Google comes up with; and Wikipedia hasn't helped any either. _________________
