Anyone else seen this series? It's a super robot (i.e., completely superior to real robot series) series, with lots of over the top explosions and awesome characters. Anyway, I've seen every episode so far, and it's currently my second favorite anime (after FLCL).

Yeah, it would've been better without that God awful music. I cannot wait for the epic space battles that are inevitably coming.

I really enjoy the series, it's a great mix of ridiculous originality and painful cliche. I'm crying and cheering at the same time.
the show has some fantastic characters and I think thats why everyone is watching the show, if not for Kamina I think the entire show would suck. and yes I know hes dead. |

Kamina set the tone, but as Starry pointed out to me, everyone else has developed beyond that. Simon is awesome, Nia has guts, Viral is getting character development and Yoko isn't useless. So, yeah without him the show would have sucked but the show doesn't *need* him to be good.

| but he created the show, he WAS the show for the first 6-7 episodes, I would have turned the thing off if it wasn't for him. He lead to the development of the environment and characters. |

Right but my point is the show didn't suck after he was gone. The show and the character development did need him in the beginning but the show, the writing doesn't NEED him to be entertaining. Otherwise we wouldn't be here discussing how awesome the show is XD

| Yeah, I agree there. I wouldn't have gotten in to the show nearly as quickly as I did if it wasn't for Kamina, but IMO the show's carried itself extraordinarily well after he left. |

Seriously, the last few episodes are going to be amazingly epic. Gainax is using a massive 40% of their budget on the finale. Also, Viral's blue pajama outfit is incredibly dumb looking.

Alright guys, it's been over for months and no new comments? The ending was absolutely incredible, Kittan's death, the Anti-Spiral Mindfuck, the final fight against Grand Zamboa, Simon becoming the digger with a DRILL STAFF. awesome.

I haven't watched it but my brother has. He finished the whole series in 3 days. >_>
From what I can hear and see, it's really hyped and I think that Kamina and Simon are idiots, but in a good way, especially when Kamina went: "Let's use that!" And they fused by knocking Simon's Gurren (it's Gurren right?) into his one's head. Oh, that cracked me up!!! XD
I still have yet to watch it, I gotta finish .hack//SIGN first.....

I loved the show so much. It did remind me of FLCL (but with an actual plot) The first half of it befroe they defeated the Spiral King was good. (except for Kamina's Death  ) the second half was Ok I did enjoy Lord Genome going all Master Asia style in the last episode though! |
