Knightman was in EXE Season 2 too, though. :O
My favourite has got to be Axess. Maybe for Burnerman and Dark Blues alone. =_=; haha... _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. When you go talk to them, it doesn't go so well." - Miyamoto

I also liked Axess the best. It had a very nice plotline to it and even though it had a lot of fillers to it, it didn't do a whole lot of side-tracking, had some very nice characters, used ALL of the SoulUnisons and it had a very nice ending and gotta love DarkBlues and FullSnychro. |

I love Beast, though I haven't watched everything yet. The 3-D animation done on Greiga and Falzer is just plain awesome, and Greiga Beast Rockman is win too. XD |

Season 1. For Colorman and Fireman BAKING MEGAMUFFINS.
Stream was pretty awesome too though, mostly because I find the human characters waaaaay more interesting than their navi counterparts. _________________

I hate Axess and Stream for their fillers and excessive use of Cross Fusion, though not so much on Axess...
My favorite is the second season with all the Gospel stuff. I love the second game >> << _________________

Stream's filler were bearable and we got R-Shadowman and R-Colonel, both of whom had incredibly awesome designs. _________________

That's a tough one, cause I haven't seen any of the newer seasons fully, only season 1 and 2. So far I'm loving Axess' story, however the art of Stream looks really good too (tho I haven't seen a lot of those) and I like Stream's backgroundmusic just a bit more than Axess.
However, even tho the art goes down quite a bit in Beast (tho sometimes it's really good again :p) it has the music AND the story's pretty good. So I would guess Beast, even though it's not that long and it finished rather suddenly, I do like that it has very little fillers, almost none.
So I would guess it'd be Beast.
But I give a special mention to the final arc from Beast+ which was extremely good. If only the whole season was about Phantom Navi's that've been awesome (or maybe not). _________________

Beast+, EXE 6 was one of my favorite games and I felt that + had more to do with the characters than Beast. Also it seemed a bit affected by internet culture, especially Shuko in that maid uniform. _________________ 98% of all teenagers have injected a mixture of morphine and crab urine into their eyeballs, if you're one of the 2% who gives a fig about these stupid made-up statistic messages, copy and paste this into your sig. |

That's why I didn't like Beast+, I don't give a crap about tired internet culture and I didn't like EXE 6.
Beast and Beast+ were both terrible I thought. _________________

Since my opinion hasn't really changed since Knightman asked this at On-Air, copy/paste time! (with some new clarficiations)
Because I enjoyed the focus on so many different characters, as well as the relationships between humans and Navis better than any other, because it was the darkest, most serious in tone of all the seasons, because it was the season the movie was spawned, and because some of my favorite musical scores were played so often, Stream is my favorite as well. Oh, and arguably the best fanservice episode for all.
People tend to hate on the CF side of things, but I think they really are overlooking how complete this season really was, in my opinion. Sure, maybe it was a bit gimmicky, but how could you not look forward to those henshins over plug-in sequences?!
I thought the original season was pretty good. But whenever you look back at a series and see the early episodes, you usually tend to look at them and wonder when the quality was that bad...or in a positive way, admire how far the series has come since then. That's kinda how I feel about the first season. It had it's moments, but everything from character development to music to art all seems worse when I look back at it. Even if it technically was more true to the games themselves. Axess was good (especially towards the end), Beast was better because the storyline stayed consistent with little filler-worthy content, Beast+ was a step backwards, but still more than entertaining enough. Just that the shortened time and the final episode really was a downer.
So yeah, probably Stream -> Beast -> Axess -> Beast+/Original (I can't say one is worse, although because of the length, if I have to put Beast+ last, I could. But I hate saying something is my "least favorite." ) _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Seeing how this has gaind much attention, I guess Ill give my opinion. Stream is my favorite so far (Nenji and "Nenjiro" FTW), but Season 2 is the most hilarious. *coughrockmancoughnekocough* _________________ As a Deviant, I work alone on my projects.

Axess all the way. It came out of nowhere and revived an Anime to live on for 2 or 3 additional seasons. Dark chips, Dark Loids, Soul Unison, Cross Fusion and Dr. Regal's plot made Axess rock hard and will never be topped in my opinion.
Cross Fusion haters can hate all they want, but in Axess, Cross Fusion was different. It was still new, it was DANGEROUS, it was experimental and not everyone could do it whenever they pleased. It was a desperate dangerous act that created a dramatic effect, unlike it's following seasons, where it was done with big smiles and by a different person every few episodes (except maybe Beast, the penalty for doing it in Beyondard was awesome).
Axess was the best season for drama I think. Everytime I watch a scene with Dark Blues, my heart races. Dr. Regal's plot against SciLab was the most dramatic thing a villain did, and... Yuriko, Yuriko, YURIKO! Axess should've been called Rockman EXE DRAMA! Also, EVERY Soul Unison was included in Axess, something Stream failed to do.
Stream started off amazing, it's first 3 episodes where epic. Then it just fell on it's face I think, and kept spitting out Neo World 3 fillers as an excuse to focus on the movie. 51 episodes in a row, all we were waiting for was the final confrontation with Duo... and we all know how satisfying THAT finale went <_<
Beast was amazing, every episode hit the next one like a soap opera and Beast Out was the coolest thing since Dark Chips. It had a full complete rock hard plot that delivered an epic finale, and ONLY if it were longer, and included the Cross', I think I'd end up liking this one more then Axess. Beast + was a fun mini-series, but that's all it was. A good season by itself, a bad season to finish the series.
And of course the original 2 seasons aren't exactly chopped liver. I'd rather watch those then anything from Stream any day. But again, I love my drama, and aside from the "Rockman deleted" saga and Bug Style... it was mostly a light-hearted show that shined with it's cast and action scenes. _________________

Oh snap. I liked a lot of them for different reasons. But I guess my favorite is Axess and Stream. Axess got me back into the .EXE fandom, and Stream for my OTHER favorite characters. _________________

It's funny how many Stream lovers there are considering the flack that season gets. Anyway...
If you had asked me about a year ago, I probably would have (and probably did) said that Axess was my favorite. But after rewatching the first season, I'd have to say that the original season is my favorite.
Yes, they were made in lower quality, but there was a sort of youthful charm about them. A minority of the episodes were filler and just about all of them moved the plot somewhere (season 2 is when the filler really picked up), and the series took itself less seriously and was more laid back with random events happening. Don't forget that Netto and Co. actually acted like kids at that point, rather than adults in midget bodies.
Further, the season actually forced the Net Navis and the Net Ops to work as a team. At times, Netto was running all over creation to bypass firewalls, scrambling to Plug In and then having to deal with crisis while Rock was out on the 'Net- it just made it all work. And no other season threw us as many curveballs as the original season did. Who can forget Devil Roll, Rock's Deletion (totally didn't see that one coming, I actually had to pick my jaw up off the floor when it happened), or the first Style Change?
The Internet was more of a parallel world at that point where the Net Navi's lived and worked, and less of a battle arena that Net Ops sent their Navi's into to duke it out and right wrongs.
If anything, I'd say that the first season really nailed the Net Op/Net Navi aspect of the EXE world, and then that aspect was lost in every other season.
Axess comes in next. Axess was decidely darker than it's EXE roots, had a serious plot and blurred the lines between light and darkness considerably. It also introduced Cross Fusion, a dangerous double-edged sword, and it used every single Soul Unison of EXE 4... most of which were handled in an excellent way.
However, Axess' introduction of Cross Fusion created a bad element that would grow out of control in Stream. It dumbed down the Net Navi/Net Op relationship; and resulted in the Net world and the Real world being religated to seperate plains, rather than intertwined and each world being affected by the other.
While a good season, I mostly watched Axess because it was RockMan and to find out what happened next instead of to enjoy the episode. Axess was indeed synonimous with tension, but I don't think that that was a good thing.
Beast comes in next. Although I haven't seen the entire season, what I have seen of it was fairly solid. The plot was strong and had a series of twists and turns, but I still felt like the series was taking itself too seriously.
Stream is a mixed bag. I personally have no realy gripe with the Cross Fusion Rangers; I just wish that the cyberworld hadn't been ignored altogether. True, the series was meant to show the relationship between the Net Navis and their Net Ops, but on focusing on one extreme of the spectrum, Stream virtually ignored the Net Navis altogether and religated them to henshin triggers.
Had the Net Navis been given more character development and screen time, Stream could have been the greatest series of the entire lot. Blowing their entire budget on the movie didn't help either.
I will disagree with those that say that the ending was horrible. I personally have found it to be the most touching scene since Rock's deletion. Yes, it didn't have a huge battle, but it more than made up with by catalysing what Stream was supposed to be the entire time- the demonstration of a bond between Net Navi and Net Op.
Then Barrel had to go and ruin everything. @_@; Outside of that it was pretty good.
(Ironically enough, Ryuusei falls into many of the same traps as Stream.)
I really haven't seen enough of Beast + to make a judgement call on it. So I'll leave that to others.
So, in order of preference:
Original
Axess
Stream
Beast
Beast+ _________________

I have favourite episodes more than seasons. While Stream wasn't exactly the pinnacle of plots or animation, it did have Nenji in it and certainly far more than Beast did. Beast 14 still remains as the best animated fight scene of the show though. _________________
