Yay! More copy-paste time! Taken from my dA journal, with minor edits here and there. Warning-likely contains numerous translation and/or observation errors. Corrections will be appreciated. =)

A disturbance at a restaurant-type place has attracted the attention of our heroes. It seems a soda-machine has gone crazy and is spitting out cans of soda like no one's business (frankly, if I were there, I wouldn't be complaining). Rockman appears on the scene and peers into the soda machine. A new Mu-tairi (is that the right word?) Virus is sitting inside. Subaru is overcome by its cuteness (sap). WarRock reminds Subaru that it IS a Virus and they need to kill it, even if it's distractingly cute. Subaru goes, yeah, okay and summons his Buster.
Instead he goes Thunder Berserker.
Subaru goes wtf? while the Virus understandably freaks out and runs away.
Subaru asks something about this to WarRock and WarRock replies back mentioning something about the Thunder Berserker. Subaru ponders this while studying his reflection in the glass. I guess they said something to the effect of controlling this new transformation. They wave out and reappear behind a wall. Subaru asks WarRock if he's okay. WarRock mutters something, then says, yeah, he's okay.
Oh, look! It's a call from Orihime! Seems she wants Subaru to investigate something about the Ooparts-looks like Subaru's heading to Egypt!
Ah, Egypt-the land of the Pharaohs, the land of the pyramids, and the land of sand. Lots and lots of sand (And nowadays, maybe the occassional terrorist). We see a figure riding on a camel with a sketchbook in his hand. Oh, look! It's that guy who was hiding in a coffin and driving a herst! :O
He muses about the sand and sun and asks his Star Carrier what it thinks. Or rather, the creature within it-a creature he calls by name: Ghost.
Hey look! I think we're in Europe now! Flash over to a man sitting behind an easel now. It's our friend the herst driver, again! He's studying a pretty woman as his subject. A few more touches and...voila! It's done! The lady happily goes over to see what he's done.
And is more than a little perturbed, as it's a picture of her screaming like she just saw a zombie or some other traumatizing event. While Mr. Painter goes on about how wonderful he thinks it is, the woman is obviously NOT happy, and slaps the crud out of him. She storms off in a fury, leaving our paiter very confused. He studies some of his other paintings. Macabre to say the least, but he doesn't see anything wrong with them. So he decides with fiery passion to do something about it (haven't the faintest idea what though), but, that passion lasts for about 5 seconds and he realizes it's hopeless.
Oh, it's not useless says a voice. Mr. Painter looks out his window and sees a pink (PINK) ghost hovering out his window. He gets all excited about it, which kinda freaks out the ghost-this Human's reaction was probably not what it was expecting. It vanishes, but leaves behind a Star Carrier for Mr. Painter.
And this is how Hyde and Ghost met.
More talking between Hyde and Ghost-oh look! Pyramids! Ooparts!
Back with Subaru-he's eating with his mom and talking about stuff. WarRock throws a conniption about something and Subaru does nothing to cover it up or hide it (but then again, Subaru's mom didn't say anything about it, either) but rather snaps in WarRock's face. He stuffs something into his mouth and chokes. Brilliant, Subaru.
To the Wave Roads! Subaru and WarRock argue about what happened (I can't understand any of this, and it's really starting to frustrate me), when they realize that, hey look! They're in Egypt already. Wave Roads sure are convenient.
Looks like Hyde already beat Subaru to the Pyramid (because camels go so much faster than radio waves), and he's looking around. Ghost alerts him that Rockman has also arrived.
WarRock cannot resist the urge to poke fun at Subaru, mentioning that the pyramids are great tombs and are full of horrible traps and such. Subaru good-naturedly says there's nothing to be afraid of.
Oh, crap it's a huge talking snake! Run for your life Subaru! Oh, noez! It's a skeleton! Run for your life, Subaru! Oh, noez! It's a mummy! Run, Subaru, run!
WarRock is getting annoyed and screams at Subaru to calm down. Subaru refuses to listen and warps clear out of the pyramid and stops at a nearby river. WarRock scolds Subaru for being afraid, and Subaru screams back. WarRock goes for drastic measures and chomps down on Subaru's finger. Now he has Subaru's attention. WarRock then gives Subaru a motivational speech saying something about a "amagami" or something like that and more stuff about Mu. Subaru gets really upset, which strengthens his resolve. To the pyramid!
Meanwhile, Hyde is still looking around. He's getting frustrated since he's found nothing. Ghost appears and reminds him about something concerning the Ooparts.
Hyde shrugs. "Ooparts," he says, "Noparts." lol, he made a funny.
"I found you!" Rockman appears. "I won't let you take the Ooparts!"
The man seems amused and Denpa Henkans. It's Phantom Black!
Battle ensues, filled with lots of fluid movement. Rockman tries firing his Rock Buster, but Phantom Black easily dodges while rushing in for a close range assualt. He uses his Stick Sword, and goes in for the kill.
Thunder Berserker!
Phantom Black realizes he has no hope against this power house, but fights anyway. Meanwhile, the blade glows strangely.
Rockman manages to knock Phantom Black down.
"Now, Subaru!" Phantom Black braces himself.
It never comes.
For now the Thunder Berserker has gone truly berserk.
Looks like the sword has a mind of its own! And it has a mind to destroy! D:
(End copy/paste)
By the way, I think I figured out this whole Thunder Berserk spammage thing. It seems to me that the writers have the Thunder Berserker serving as WarRock's subconscious defense mechanism. The thing activates whenever WarRock feels threatened, albeit, without him thinking about it.
At least, that's what I think. :/
This episode was directed by Nomoto, and, again, it showed with the occasional odd-looking face. Howerver, once the battle started, it was, again, fast-paced, and surprisingly fluid, especially once the sword started going crazy.
There's a YouTube link in the Episode Titles thread. Go watch!

Like I said in the other topic, this eppy was... brimming with hefty, jiggly ooparts. Nomoto really likes Ooparts, doesn't she?

Also YAY. Good quality artworks! FINALLY she's beginning to learn how to draw and animate properly. :D Subaru's "Kawaiiiii" face was so cute. :3

And yet Hyde's face fell flat.

This is true, for a non-Misora ep. this was strangely loaded with fanservice. Bleh.

Outside of Hyde's whacked-out chin, most of the art was pretty decent. But I don't think that RockBuster shot off into the distance was really needed. Outside of that, eh it was alright.

I didn't care for the way Tribe had handled Berzerker in the last ep. But this kinda makes up for it. Berzerker was indeed berzerk, what with it appearing whether or not Subaru wanted it to was nice; and I liked the touch of RockMan looking into the mirror. It makes you realize that Subaru and WarRock have no idea what their transformations look like.

Then there's Hyde... I dunno... Hyde has this strange ability to make 'weirdly spaced out' come across as perfectly normal. He's almost ShadeMan cross Narcy.

I love Ghost, though. The guy's such a little mischevious troublemaker that you can't help but love him. It's a nice change of pace from the 'RAWR I'm EVIL' FM/UMA villians we've been seeing lately.

So all in all, it's not stellar, but a decent ep regardless.

A nice episode, I'm happy to see the animation improving, and the pacing of the episodes feel better now as well IMO.

Loved the parts inside the pyramid with Subaru running around. I was a bit shocked to see Rockman wanting to hit Phantom Black at the end but I keep forgetting that the rules in this series are different. If Rockman had hit, would it simply knocked Hyde out of the Henkan? I'm unsure if something like that kills the FM. (Even though I should have known by a now after following the series for a year)

The ending fight was nice, but it surprised me a bit that Hyde kept on fighting even though he had a disadvantage. Maybe he wanted to test Rockman's power.

Good episode, not the best, but definitely enjoyable.

Non Lolicon fanservice in my Rockman? What's the world coming to?

Hyde's an artist. That's cool. I respect a man who can draw, even if it's on the macabe side. Speaking of art, he looked messed up throughout the entire flashback. Nomoto strikes again.

Speaking of Nomoto striking again, we have another well animated fight. Was s/he taking a crash course in fighting 101 during his/her free time during the Ryuusei finale or something? I liked how Phantom Black tried attacking through the wall. Creative and different. Thunder Berserk was handled better too.

I also loved the new music. The Egyptian theme, the quirkyness of Hyde's music. Very nice. I also love Ghost's voice. So, Bly appears next week, so will we be seeing another budget fest?

It is kinda sad though when you need the help of a superhero to fix your vending machine.

Again, you're getting my amateur opinion as I've never made a serious effort to know the art directors beforehand... nor have I been training my eye to distinguish them... (You'd have to go to Seiko for that one...)

But I'm not sure that Nomoto's doing these episodes solo. If you've noticed, most of the art distortion comes from the still shots and/or medium close-ups. Once you hit movement, it's a whole 'nother ballgame.

Further, like I've said at On-Air, back in Ryuusei, Nomoto normally handled the run-of-the-mill episodes, while Adachi, Takahashi or the one-shot-wonder Nao stepped in to handle the episodes with plot-related content (hence that huge block of Nomoto eps, they were all filler). Heck, Adachi even handled the huge FM delete-a-thon, which was a crucial plot point, but didn't require that much animation. I find it odd that Tribe would suddenly reverse that and hand Nomoto two plot-related episodes after letting Sera and Shimizu do the first two episodes.

I also recall a couple of posts back during the earlier episode threads where various members were pointing out discrepancies between Tribe 3/4 and Nomoto's Ryuusei style.

Of course, Tribe does appear to have a bigger budget, and that extra cash could have motivated Nomoto to suddenly turn around and do a better job like in Ryuusei 49... But who really knows? If Nomoto really is doing these episodes solo, I want to have a word with him/her about Ryuusei... >:/

Nao was... the toothpick figures episode, right? If that's the case, I'd really rather not have her make another episode. I didn't like his/her art, everything was incredibly skinny, TINY and undetailed. I've seen chubbier stick figures than the ep he/she made.

Then I take it you're allergic to high quality animation too? Let's face it, the animation in Ryuusei 53 easily beats down pretty much every other episode of Ryuusei, all of Tribe, not to mention almost all of the original Exe anime.

I've seen plenty of bad artwork in my day, not only in Rockman. Ryuusei 53 most certainly did not have bad artwork.

I didn't like the shapes, really. Sure it was well animated and all, but still, those issues remained. I've seen worse but I've seen far better throughout Ryuusei itself as well. Of course, this is just my opinion. You don't have to sound rude if you disagree. >_>

Too many OOPARTS @_@

To go by what Hyde said...OOPARTS, Noparts!

Or however he said it.

Ghost amuses me for no apparent reason.

Also Scaredy-cat Subaru made me laugh. XD

Random tidbit of info and/or interest that I need someone to shoot down.

While perusing ShoPro's site for Tribe, I visited the summaries page. Upon visiting the page for Tribe 7, Babelfish revealed a sentence that wasn't listed on any of the other summaries or in this thread's summary...

Here's the link for the summary:
http://www.shopro.co.jp/tv/program/ryuusei_rockman_t/
(I can't link deep into the site for some reason. Click the top bar and then keep clicking the 'Arrow' pointing to the right)

Here's a cut&paste of Babelfish's translation.

Quote:
The hydro of the calling artist united the radio wave body ghost and the hand, desired the fact that eternal life is obtained. Subaru which comes to the point of on the one hand inspecting the pyramid in request for オリヒメ. Is, but foot was set inside the pyramid, immediately, you are threatened in some person.

And then Webb's 'deBabeled' reading.

Quote:
Hyde, who follows his true calling of an artist, united with the radio wave being Ghost, desires that which provides eternal life. Subaru arrives and searches a pyramid at Orohime's request, upon entering the pyramid, he is attacked...

What gets me is the whole 'Hand of Eternal Life' bit. Nothing like that's been mentioned thus far in any summary or breakdown I've seen thus far.

Granted, I'm not fluent in Japanese and I've given up trying to be so I could very well be missing something here. If someone who happens to know the language could clear this up it'd be appreciated.

But... if Hyde was looking for something that grants eternal life, could it be that Empty is going to be more of a plot point than we suspect?

Hm, I'm thinking that that's just what Ghost told Hyde, that the Oopart will grant him immortality or something. That motive's been done before plenty of times.

I never commented on this eppy...so I can't secretly edit in pans without anyone really knowing. Laughing

Here are 16 for now. A few were minor and hardly add much than a normal cap in terms of length. I'm trying to get 3 more to lineup properly. I have a bit of extra cloning and redrawing if I'm going to get them to work. But if those are added in the coming days, THEY'LL be edited in with my tiger-like quickness/ninja secrecy. :D
