Holy poo guys, new Union JAck.

I read that some time ago. It's absurd how the Telegraph listed the Gurren Dan logo as a 'sunglasses-wearing, flame-haired cartoon dragon'..... even though it's not. ^o^
And, if you've looked at the other submissions, you'll see Louise from Zero no Tsukaima riding the Welsh dragon..... but she's Tristain (Belgian/Netherlander), and Albion (England) is her country's enemy!
It's also surprising that the website offering to solve 'the problem' is 2channel! And we all know that 2chan is like, a sort of Otaku BBS.....

Also, with TTGL, do you think GAINAX will make a second season? Or was TTGL a one off?

There isn't going to be a second season or any sort of spin off apparently, but an OVA would be pretty likely and awesome.

The dub is shaping up to be absolutely terrible.

Hm, well, I wrapped the series up when I was sick the other day. Definitely a memorable experience. 40% gets shiny star specs and shuriken galaxies it seems.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the series, I felt that the final arc could have benefited from another episode or two. Stuff like Boota turning into a Japanese version of Hobbes, for example. Very random. The whole situation with Nia wasn't clearly explained, I felt. How do you insert genes into someone who isn't even born yet, and even if you do, how do you not know who that person will be born to? I would also have liked to see more of the Chouginga Gurren Lagann in action, because despite its incredible cheapness, there was so much buildup to it, yet it was only used for half an episode.

Well, if the dub and the voices do turn out to be okay (WTF-inducing trailer notwithstanding), I'll see if I can get it, since this was the most fun I've ever had watching an anime.

I think you're forgetting the number one rule of super robot anime:

I'm not really a Gurren Lagann fan, but...

Yeah, the minute they dragged the Moon back into their normal dimension, I decided to give up. Which is good, since if I had tried to comprehend half of the stuff that followed my head would have burst.
Still, the Anti-Spiral's explanation kinda felt, I dunno, half-assed or something.

Oh yeah, did anyone notice that the background Gurren Brigade members (like the guy with the giant pompadour) just vanished after they got the Chouginga Gurren Lagann? Only thing I can think of is that they were left in the remains of the Arc Gurren, but...

Forget it. I'll just give up trying the rationalize everything. It's taking all of the fun out of it!

Most of the side characters died protecting Chouginga Dai-Gurren when Simon was attempting to transform it.

Well, it's just something that I thought was odd.

Despite anything else I found odd, I liked the ending a lot. It was bittersweet (even if you knew that it was going to happen, having your soul mate dissolve at the altar must really suck), but looking beyond that, you see that Simon has accepted that he'll loose the people close to him, and that he trusts his friends enough to leave the running of their society and the protection of the Spirals to them.

I still think that there should've been another episode or two to flesh out some stuff in the last arc, but overall, I'm satisfied.

Super ultra different not so roboty gurren lagann spin off that sounds like it came out of a bad fanfic, but its entertaining nonetheless. Even though the series is over, people seem to like it enough that companies are still giving us awesome products. So I think there is going to be more of gurren lagann, even if its not a continuation of the original series.

Yeah. The two chapters I've saw were really funny. Quite different but still funny. No giant robots yet of course.

yeah, and there will also be the movies, though I would have rather see them make something completely original, instead of cramming the entire series into 4 or so hours. but now I have a bit of a question to toss out there, has anyone here played the game? I plan on getting it, but I was just curious if anyone has played it.

Okay godd, because I don't want those $60 to go to waste.
also I've been following the official JP site a bit, apparently theres a DVD for sale which features all of the parallel works, if its not for sale it will be, because I'm only barely starting on my japanese learning so I can't read that much yet.

Did anyone read the spin-off series yet? Chapter 2 is hilarious.
