This took me longer than expected... Damn broken AVI file...

Title Screen: A Three-way OOPArt Struggle

Non sequiter scene of Akane and Luna baking muffins/cupcakes/whatever is how we begin. But who cares about that? On to Densan University.

The Sword of Berserk, Shinobi, Dinosaur. All three OOPArts have been found. But Subaru only has one to show. Orihime walks to the window of her office, and tells Subaru that Gori and Hyde are going to directly come after him now, so he better protect tthe Sword of Berserk. ''Yes...'' Subaru mutters, and leaves. So now the three OOPArt holders will begin to fight amongst themselves, Orihime mutters after he's gone. She glances over to Empty, and his eyes start to glow.

Subaru's walk downtown is interrupted by the sounds and explosions of a battle on a highway overpass. Warrock comments on how the fight has begun, so Subaru ducks into an alley and transforms into Rockman.

On the overpass itself, Phantom Black slices a truck in half with his sword. He's missed his target, for Yeti Blizzard crashes back down on the truck, blowing it up. Subaru, standing atop a highway sign, interrupts them. The two combatants decide to put their fight aside in favor of double teaming Subaru. Not good.

Yeti Blizzard starts things off by using Yukidama Fall, but Subaru destroys the snowballs with his buster. He then uses a Wide Sword to fend off Phantom Black, but he vanishes and grabs Subaru with Phantom Claw and throws him to the ground. Just when Yeti Blizzard is about to demand the OOPArt, a clocktower begins to chime. It is three o'clock.

Phantom Black curses and looks anxiously at the clock then at Subaru. He mutters 'time' a few times, and with a hasty 'sayonara' he waves out. Yeti Blizzard calls him an idiot, and gets pelted with buster shots from Subaru. One of them hits his shoulder (where the Dinosaur OOPArt is) and it starts to spark. He grudgingly waves out as well.

Phantom Black appears in front of a warehouse and turns back into Hyde, who loudly curses his fortune. If only he had a few more minutes! Inside the warehouse are some rather macabre paintings, Hyde's works, one would assume. There're also tables and students too. Must be a art class. And the students must be from Subaru's school, because Luna, Gonta, and Kizamaro are there, Gonta putting Kizamaro in a headlock for some reason. And Hyde wals in. He must be presiding over all of this. Ghost thinks this is just weird.

Hyde sets up a rather unusual model. A boxer wearing skeleton with a rotton apple in hand and a rose in its teeth. Yuck, there're bugs flying around that fruit (Checkout the close up of that fly. Nice.) With this skeleton thing, Hyde has great dreams of getting awarded for his masterpiece to be. Not to mention having women throw themselves at him. Some brat (probably Gonta) throws a paper airplane at his head. There's a bit more that follows, but I don't feel that it needs to be summarized.

Now the scene shifts to Gori in his looooooooong limo. He's still sore over what Hyde did to him, but no fear, for Yeti has come up with another plan. He spys Subaru reading a sign on the sidewalk, so he pulls up, and rools down his window. Next scene is in some fast food place. Gori and Subaru are seated at a both, surrounded by fem-bots and nervous patrons. The mob boss offers a deal the boy can't refuse, a briefcase full of cash for his OOPArt. Warrock's suspicious, so Gori has the fem-bot get another briefcase. And another. Now Warrock seems worried that Subaru's gonna cave in, but Subaru declines, prompting everyone in the diner to applaud.

Of course, Gori can't believe that a kid could turn down such a monumental sum. The two get into a shouting match. It gets so ugly that Subaru has to drag his promise to Daigo into it. Okay then, if Subaru's not going to be bribed into giving up his OOPArt, then Gori's just going to take it! The two transform and take it outside, literally.

Preview: Eyez viruses pass throw walls, Yeti Blizzard's OOPArt glows, Subaru punches through Yukidama Fall with Synchro Hook, both Amachi and Goyoda (YES!) are at AMAKEN, Misora looks curious, Subaru and Yeti Blizzard face off in an iced over soccer field, and the Sword of Berserk starts to glow again.

Okay. Now we get some payoff. While I probably could've done without the baking scenes, the random stuff with Hyde was very amusing and quite Narcy-esque (Hyde, Hide... Never noticed that before). Gori trying to bribe Subaru was the highlight of the episode, I thought. Even if we all knew the outcome, the diners' reactions were a nice touch. Now why does Empty needs glowing eyes is beyond me. But...but but but! Goyoda gonna be in the next episode! Now I can see if his voice is back to normal or not.

There was a new art director for this episode. Shintetsu Takiyama. His style is kinda like if Nomoto performed a fusion dance with either Adachi or Nao. Kinda roundish at times, but the way the faces were drawn were very reminscent of Adachi. Nothing flashy, save for the buster and transformation energy stuff, but it was good, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of him later on.

One.

How did Subaru Denpa Henkan in the diner to chase Gori without ANYONE noticing?

Two.

Promise to Daigo? Whaddaya mean?

Three.

o_O What do you mean "see if Goyoda's voice is normal"?

1. (Wishful Thinking)It just shows a beam of purple and green light fly out of the diner's roof. People did clearly see Gori tranform though. Maybe Subaru ducked into the bathroom or something. (Real Answer) Suspend your belief.

2. Subaru mentioned 'tou-san', or 'father'. Whenever I can't fully understand the dialogue, I guess based on the context and/or words that I do recognize. Sometimes I'm somewhat accurate, other times, not at all.

3. Goyoda's voice in Tribe 1 and 2 was clearly deeper than it was in Ryuusei. The seiyuu is still the same according to Xebec, but I'm not totally convinced of that.

Forget the secret identity plothole, I just want to know what Gori was doing trying to broker with Subaru in a restaurant where everyone is so openly against him. <_<;; The guy's supposed to be a mob boss (although I guess that might have changed in the anime) but still...

I don't see a problem there. He's a mob boss, he can do whatever he pleases! Who cares what Joe Schmoe thinks? If he wants to sip fruity drinks in a restaurant while trying to bribe a kid, then he's gonna sip his fruity drink and bribe that kid!

I so am so proud of Subaru!

I was actually amazed at the fact he refused that money. Although for some strange reason, I was thinking that part his point is that you can't put a price on an oopart because they are so powerful and can be used to save, rule, or destroy mankind. Thank you Subaru! Smile

Actually, Gori isn't that intelligent. Yeti is the one who's been pushing things along, and even comments on how his host doesn't use his brain enough. And even though the diners may not like Gori, they're not going to do anything about it because they're either intimidated by his prescence or from fear of repraisal. And seeing how the law enforcement of this world can seemingly do nothing on its own, I don't think that would be a problem either.

So no, I still fail to see how this is a plothole.
