Well my prediction of getting the game on Saturday was wrong and I ended up getting it today. From what I have played so far I like it, and Shadow Moses Island is my favorite stage so far. I played for like an hour and a half because my eyes tend to tear up if I play games on a TV for too long, so I have not unlocked anything yet. I'll post my friend code in the friend code topic once I get some more things unlocked. :)

Premium Guide is what I use for Melee and soem of my Digimon games when I get lost. Their the best guide cause they actually show pictures of where the stuff is. (Melee don't count with pics..But character pics)

So go with that. Thier really helpful.

Update recap post not necessary.

You don't need the guide.

Chase and I bought it. It's not very good. I mean, sure it has all the information you need...but they have as the unlock conditions of most of the secret characters as having them join you in the Subspace Emissary only. That's not true. It's also laid out all weird and stuff....that's just coming from me as a designer.

Gamefaqs knows more than those guides.

Yes but it can a lot easier to get the info from a guide sometimes. Plus I already paid for it and I'm getting it. Also, I'm using the Classic Controller so that's working pretty well.

Why would you get a guide for this game? =/

Lame.

Anyways, do I really need to beat SSE to unlock Toon Link? That's super-lame. I hate SSE.

You must beat SSE before you unlock some of the other characters. IE. Wolf, Toon Link.

Which is a tad depressing. Because, like Neo mentioned, it's sometimes easier to look the information up in a book then have to scroll through an exceedingly long document trying to find what you're looking for.

Finally got the game myself, and it definitely lived up to expectations. For the multiplayer battles (of which I had several) it's just like Melee was only bigger, better and crazier than before. And while Pokemon Trainer is taking some getting used to, Ike is definitely my new main; he has Marth's fancy footwork and Counter, combined with some fantastic new moves, and Ragnell's ridiculous power. I just gotta figure out a way around the slowness of some of his moves, and I'll be golden.

SSE is fantastic so far, with some pretty varied and interesting level designs, and the game's wonderful music enhances the experience. My only gripe would be that the co-op mode isn't true co-op; player 2 can only pick one character even if there are several to choose from, and if the team's out of extra lives, the mission ends if player 1 dies even if player 2's still in the game, so it ends up being player 1 attempting to fight from afar while player 2 protects him. But aside from that, I found the dialogless plotline hilarious and the rapid switches between characters really keeps you on your toes.

Lol theres one way to stop the Blue blur lol. I'm into Adventure platform type of Games. Since of the madness of trying not to get hit or die in a pit fall.

SSE will it live up my intentions of being a good Platform adventure game for me (I've played alot of Platform games. Megaman, Mario and Sonic. I'l name others once I can think of some?).

Well for Story mode you could try and beat all the levels at a higher difficulty to see how truly hard it can be.

I kinda figure of that for Co-Op on story. Has been done before. But not sure..Does 2nd player also cost you extra lives when he/she dies?

Got the newspaper today and they reviewed the game. They said the single-player mode is not worth playing and that the graphics are Gamecube-esque.Also,they rated SSE as not worth playing.

In other words, they rate it a 'B'.If you're truly serious, they say it's only worth it for the mixed bag of Nintendo characters to pick from and the multi-player mode.Sorry.

Anybody want to review it?For me,I'm probably gonna buy it,just for kicks. The cinematics I've been watching online are really nice...FF inspired.:D

O_o; I got Marth by doing that...Maybe that was cause it was my first time playing classic.

Ehh.

Oh, btw, Rian, SSE is amazing. It isn't "not worth it", it's "awesome".

Seriously. Most ordinary newspapers barely know what gaming is, much less how to recognize a quality videogame. It's like asking an illiterate to review a book for you.

Just beat SSE, and aside from some irks like the final boss (HATE. HATEHATEHATE.), I definitely had a blast. The fact that I can now go back and replay the levels with the characters of my choice makes it even better.

And unfortunately, while I love the Final Smashes, it looks like I'm going to be turning them off during multiplayer battles; some of them are really overpowered. During one of my games, a guy who had barely played any Smash Bros in years was using Fox and got ahold of his Landmaster, and then proceeded to effortlessly score up to 2 kills from everyone else in the game. Read: RIDICULOUS. And the fact that Falco and Wolf both have the same FS...it's just too much. -_-;;

Final Smashes are also given out of pity ingame, serves to "balance" the game, you know, to give everyone a chance. <<

I'm also amazed how sites such as IGN cry for "inferior graphics", meaning "not comparable to PS3 and X360". I like how they overlook the fact they're dealing with the Wii.

And now, more character tweakings.

Marth. He (or she) who is in a death brawl for the title of the most girlish character versus Peach's blonde-ness (play SSE and free her from the cage on Halberd to understand). Anyway. His sword was shortened, and his B neutral charge attack hits differently: it doesn't hit with a swipe from up to down, but rather, extends his arm outward. Hits further away like this. Overall, he hasn't changed besides this. Except for the fact that he's even more of a woman than he was back on Melee. Fun fact: he retained his japanese voice and lines, unlike Ike, he didn't get an US VA.

Samus. Her smash attacks pack good damage, and her upsmash does more than just damaging, can send flying. Her grapple beam was shortened, and her 2nd jump is less high as well. The screw attack was improved and it goes much higher, and she's also far more floaty. Her missiles seem to have improved, although the super missile seems to have less knockback than before. Travels further away though. Careful when using her charge beam. Two words: Franklin Badge.

Yoshi. Finally he's getting a "third jump". Or almost. It's more like a float effect akin to Peach using Toad in midair, but much better. If used properly, can help you travel a good distance. He's more like the N64 concerning his traction, as he's a little more slippery. His attacks seem to be more powerful as well and effective.

Has anybody else here been playing as Ness from time to time? Does he seem better than he was in Melee to anyone else? He seems to have improved in my opinion. He seems a bit stronger and faster. Also I'm winning the majority of random online battles I do with him. I managed to come out on top in an online fight against a group that consisted of Ike, Link, and Meta Knight. :O
