MMSF2 Release?

I'm sorry. This question has been plaguing my head for some time. I just keep thinking, will they translate the game? If so, then I'm relieved. If not, I'll see what I can do. It's really making me worry that Capcom or any other site I go to has any annoucement for such. Has Star Force really lost it's popularity!? Set your opinions here.

I'd kind of laugh and cry at the same time if it didn't get released.

Laugh because I'm finally gaining some sort of interest in the second game.

Cry because of how much money Capcom will lose out on (It seems the format of star force is insanely popular in comparison to the action platformer style of Megaman Classic/X/Zero/ZX)

I laugh because we seem to go through these motions once every year.

Look, we always get information on English releases in the spring, usually around April. So there's no point worrying about it now. That, and if I recall, in the Nintendo Power interview in November for the 20th anniversery, I believe it was asked if we (America) will be getting a ZX game or a Starforce game next, and the answer was 'probably Starforce.'

I honestly don't see why topics like these are necessary at this point in time.

Well, I'm just worried, that's all. Besides, I can't get news as easily here as you guys can, so I can be doubtful about internet rumors surrounding Star Force. Aside from that, outside of the community, not many people take any interest in the game. Then, it sorta feels that Rockman's dead. I would grieve so much at that point if it would come true, assuming that if it DOES happen. Oh well, guess that's Capcom's decision.

Star Force 2 - Berzerk & Shinobi and Berzerk & Dinosaur, are probably going to come out around the end of this year, or very early next year.

Well, that's just me guessing, since it took then almost a year to release the first game.

Have no fear peoples. Starforce 2 is coming our way! Read about it over at Gamespot. One report, and there are already name changes.

Berserker-Zerker (Someone must've felt clever)
Dinosaur-Saurian (Same thing, basically)
Shinobi-Ninja (Fair enough)

Release date has been put forth as either Autumn 2008, or June 2008. I'm leaning more towards the later, because the first game came out around a month later in both countries, while the second came out at the usual November date.

Didn't I say all this angst was for nothing? So, time for me to laugh. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Well, at least it's good to know that it'll be coming out in English, but autumn/June? That's quite a bit of time.

I don't really see a need for them to change Bly, all things considered, that is his wave form name and hence, it doesn't have to make sense....

Hmm...

Phantom Black will obviously become Phantom Dark because any other way and it's racist! *thumbs up*

I think the main reason the names were changed is because 'Berserker', 'Dinosaur', and 'Shinobi' take up less space in Japanese characters than with English ones. I actually like Saurian, because Dinosaur is a bit bland, and I don't care about Ninja because I don't plan on getting that version. But I will agree that Zerker is stupid. 'Knight', 'Paladin', something along those lines would've been better.

The name changes in Starforce aren't that bad when you think about them. Bud Bison comes from Gonta's last name. 'Ushi' means cow, and a bison is an animal that is a member of the bodivae family. 'Shirogane' literally translates to 'white iron', thus Platz, derived from platinium. Patrick, Pat's full first name, contains the word 'trick', and 'Sprigs' is probably just due to his green hair. Chrys Golds came about because kaneda means 'money'.

These are the same people who localized Phoenix Wright, so I have confidence in them. Of course, there were some headscratchers like Ophiuca, and pointless changes like Wolf Woods and Libra Scales, but over all, I'm pleased with the localization.

Addendum: Bly appears to now be Rouge. It works, considering that Bly came from 'Burai', which is derived from the word for 'unruly villian', but the blowback is not doing to be pretty I'd bet.

I do think Zerker is odd but I wonder what they'll change everyone else to.

Saurian is pretty cool, I guess. I tried looking it up and I could not figure out wether it is a real thing mythology wise or if all the sites were fanfic oriented. Zerker sounds alright, but I do not really like how the name change gets rid of the connection with actual Berserkers. Ninja is perfectly fine since shinobi is a Japanese word meaning ninja, right? Rogue I have no problem with, but I do not want to see the name Solo changed though.

I am just glad the US is getting the game, did not really feel like importing it.

well i don't really know anything about the second star force but if ur look'n 4 where 2 find out i know a good site:

Hopefully you guys must have seen the update at The UnderSquare right?

So hopefully now Capcom of the U.S. will actually make fans happy be giving out

Maybe. Unless the Carrier can connect to the DS.

Not sure though, I don't know that much about this yet. Hopefully it will be explained more soon.
