The countdown begins.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amachi and Goyoda are still on their way to the docks. A display panel shows two blips bouncing off one another, and soon, flashes can be seen in the sky. In Subaru's neighborhood, Luna, Gonta, and Kizamaro witness these lights, and hurry off to investigate.

Suabru and Empty leap up out of a giant dust cloud and Empty shoves his hand into Warrock's head, and follows up by backhanding Subaru into the ground.

Title Screen: Empty's Void (I'm being liberal with the translation)

Suabru gets up as Empty drops in front of him. Reaffirming his resolve to stop Ra Mu from being revived, he leaves an X-shaped slash on Empty's chest. Which does absolutely nothing. Empty himself isn't impressed with Subaru's performance. So Misora tries her hand at the big guy, but her Shock Note is ineffective as well. Empty appears behind her, and literally punches her across the entire length of the docks. Next, he sends Subaru flying into some shipping containers, much to Akane's dismay.

But the Satellite Police are finally here! This is bad for both Gori and Hyde, of course, so they beat it. Akane points out to Goyoda and Amachi the fight, which has now moved onto a ship.

Subaru throws out three Thunder Slashes, which pass through his enemy. ''It's useless.'' Empty replies. ''My power is infinite.'' Amachi recognizes, to his surprise, Orihime, over by her car, who kindly explans her plan to them. Subaru, meanwhile, is sent plummeting into one of the ship's fuel tanks.

Goyoda decides that the best course of action is to arrest Orihime, but his group is driven back by a bolt of dark lightning. Amachi whips out his Star Carrier and pinpoints Empty with it. His energy level is beyond nine thousand, it's infinite! Looks like what Empty said earlier wasn't just a boast.

Suabru resurfaces in the tank, and decides to get the hell out of there before he sets the whole ship ablaze. He waves out and reappears on a Wave Road, challenging Empty to continue the fight. He zips off, but when Empty follows him, he's restrained by some kind of purple wave cord. That's connected to Orihime's car.

So, in what has to be one of the funnier scenes in the series (I thought so anyway), Empty gets onto the roof of the car, Orihime gets inside, and drives off in pursuit of Subaru. Yes, they are pursuing him by car. The Satellite Police take off in pursuit as well, Amachi wondering why Orihime and Empty had to resort ot this. Hyde and Gori chuckle to themselves as the law enforcement leaves.

Subaru, meanwhile, skids to a stop, wondering where Empty went. Orihime's car screeches around a corner, and Empty, now in range, reappears on the Wave Road and the fight continues, but Subaru still can't land a hit on him. Empty then whips out Thunder Bazooka and blasts his adversary away. Subaru dodges another shot, and leaps further away. Empty starts going after him again, but the cord restrains him once again. So he goes back to where he was before and fires off another shot, again dodged.

Subaru wonders why Empty isn't coming after him, when he finally notices the cord. Amachi orders Utagai to scan Empty, to see who his host is.

Empty waves out to avoid a slash from Subaru's sword, then electrocutes him with Magic Thunder. The results of the scan come in: there's no host! Instead, the cord seems to be supplying Empty with his energy. So Goyoda installs a program into his rifle and fires a jamming beam into the car, with interfers with the computer inside, which results in the computer going boom and setting the car on fire, much to Orihime's surprise, of course. The cord dissolves, weakening Empty and freeing Subaru from the lightning.

''Now Rockman!'' Goyoda yells, and Subaru charges up his sword and unleashes Thunderbolt Breaker, which finally has the desired effect. Luan and co. finally arrive at the scene and spot Subaru.

Subaru tells Orihime that further fighting is useless, since he can now damage Empty. Orihime merely laughs and inserts the two OOPArts in her possession into Empty, healing him. (Get your minds out of the gutter, now!) Empty screams and flares up with a purple aura as his eyes glow purple as well. Images of the two OOPArts appear in the air, and start to resonate with the Sword of Berserk. A yellow beam of light shoots out of Warrocks mouth and joins the others in the sky. A portal just like the one Bly entered appears in the night sky.

The Seal on Mu has been penetrated once again. The chain of events that began with Cepheus now end with Orihime. An entrance to Mu has appeared, and somewhere inside it, is Ra Mu.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preview: Rockman gets blasted by a massive stream of purple energy in broad daylight, which is not how it should be, Amachi looks at his Star Carrier desperately, Harp Note leaps into the night sky and vanishes, Solo steps away from Misora and Subaru inside Mu and transforms into Bly, and Empty finally gets his hands on the Sword of Berserk.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heh heh, the trick to Empty's power was so simple it was hilarious. So was him riding on the car all those times. Though on the downside, it does look like they may be scrapping Empty's backstory, unless they spring it on us in the final episode.

Art-wise, it was another decent job by Nomoto, finally without any of the 'Nomoto lol' art flubs. Even Orihime was drawn very well. The fighting was a lot less flashy than it's been in previous episodes, but was still good, and didn't resort to pan shots.

Next episode, and the last one, is done by Adachi. There doesn't appear to be the epic Rockman vs. Bly fight some have probably been hoping for, unless they're hiding it from us. Maybe since he's finally reached Mu, he doesn't want to fight Rockman anymore?

This arc has gone 6-for-6. Amazing.

This was a good episode. And if this episode was indeed entirely done by Nomoto then I'm very impressed. The art was simply amazing IMHO and the colors looked great. I'm glad to see that Nomoto can deliver this level of detail and quality when needed. As well as for the fact that I didn't notice pan shots. The battle was done well, although not as exciting as the in the previous episodes it filled its role nicely.

I haven't watched the preview but the episode ended with a nice cliffhanger. But I'm a bit worried how they are going to handle everything in just two more episodes. I'm afraid rushing through the final plot will be inevitable.

Still, the last few episodes have made me more optimistic about the series. It seems that the series is getting an worthy ending it definitely deserves IMHO.

Lord, did I get a good laugh at Empty surfing on top of the car as they sped off towards Rock. Laughing I enjoyed seeing Goyoda doing something useful to help out, too. Along with the return of him constantly saying Goyoda. The episode had some substance, but a drop off from the last two.

I definitely noticed the Nomoto-ness of the eyes at times, but oddly enough, the preview looked nothing like Adachi to me. Maybe just because of the YouTube quality again, but it seemed off.

I too worry that these last two episodes are gonna feel incredibly rushed or nonsensical. As much as I'd like to be the only one holding on to some sliver of hope that the anime is just finally getting a temporary break (after all, we've had how many consecutive yearly seasons? Some of those people need their time off finally. Wink) and there could be a "season 2" of Tribe at some future point, I have a feeling the ending is going to be a Beast+-type letdown. :/

Somehow the scene of Goyoda reconfiguring his denpa rifle reminded me of the Axess ending.

Hmm, when would Subaru get the other two transformations anyway? Seems like a waste for Fire Dinosaur and Green Shinobi to show up only at the last episode.

Welcome to the world of Deus Ex Machina. Subaru's going to get his hands on the Ooparts on the last episode, probably will show the other two transformations and then turn into tribe king because his power wasn't enough to destroy RaMu. >_>

I want Gemini Spark back. TT_TT

Or they'll just skip those two transformations altogether and go straight to Tribe King. Personally, that's what I hope will happen, trying to cram Green Shinobi and Fire Dino into the season now would not be a good idea.

Tribe King can be swallowed, the other two? Not so much.

Doesn't 20 episodes seem way too short for a series? If anything, I believe this is only a major turning point in the plot. Like with Ryuusei.

If there are indeed more eps that they haven't revealed yet, I'm guessing they'll take place in Mu. Just like how Beast spent a good deal of eps in Beyondard.

Xebec's site has said point-blank that the series is ending at 21 episodes, and we already know that an anime called Penguin no Mondai is going to be taking Ryuusei's timeslot in April.

Tribe's ending, AMZ. No doubt about it.

Considering the opening depicts all three of Tribe On forms, I'm inclined to believe originally they planned a full series and there were forced to hastily finish up.

The question is why.

As far as the other two transformations go, like Dan said, they'll likely be hastily introduced before pulling in Tribe King as the deus ex machina.

There are several different reasons. Could be funding, could be ratings, could be anything. In fact, this reminds me of the hypothetical shortening of Beast, only this shortening/ending doesn't look like it'll result in any glaring plotholes.

So yeah, Rockman is definitely going off the air for the time being, possibly permenently. If the timeslot was changing or a new season was in production, I'm sure that there would've been an announcement by now.

Weekly Friday screencap post. Secret weekly Saturday pan edit on Saturday.

Samples:

Ep. 19 Screencaps (247 Total Caps, ~9MB) Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EF3H2IH5

*3/23 EDIT* LOL, I totally forgot to copy my post from On-Air here yesterday. So secret weekly Saturday pan edit is on Sunday.

(Too lazy to do serious editing to a couple of them, namely #7 and 10. So there are multiple Rockman and Emptys. Looks odd, cool and funny at the same time. But since I couldn't merely place a single color over them, it'd take a bit of time to properly fix. Effects/movement were an issue this week, on all but the first and the two Orihimes. :/)
