Now that I've seen the rest of the series subbed, I have to say that Orihime's plan is a little less generic than I previously thought. Instead of reviving Ra Mu and taking over the world, she wants Ra Mu to be the one ruling, cause it's supposedly omniescent or something. I still like her game plan better though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We begin early without the opening as Yeti Blizzard sets his OOPArt into a pedestal at the base of one of the pillars. Phantom Black and Empty do the same with the other two. Runes begin to glow, as do the eyes of the Ra Mu statue. The room begins to shake and crumble, so everyone gets out of there, save Warrock, who's unconscious. The floor collapses and beneath is a pool of purple liquid.

Title Screen: Duel on the Mu Continent

Orhime peers down into the purple muck, her prize within her grasp. Bly drops down from the sky in front of her, so Empty gets inbetween him and Orihime. Bly calls her a foolish human for wanting to break the seal, so she sics Empty on him. The two have a brief bout of fisticuffs, ending with Bly blasting Empty with a large energy blast. Well, unsurprisingly, Empty emerges unscathed, and lifts his opponent up by the shoulders and blasts him into a wall. Bly whips out his sword and goes back for another round.

Orihime, Yeti Blizzard, and Phantom Black, meanwhile, are still admiring the purple goop. Phantom Black notices something though, Goyoda's dangling from a collapsed pillar, trying to pull the Sword of Berserk out of its pedestal! A Phantom Claw grabs him, but the policeman is saved from certain doom by Harp Note. The two UMAs try to gang up on her, but who comes to the rescue but Cancer Bubble with his Tidal Wave! He and Misora get into an arguement, because the FM apparently just ditched Kaneda to get out here.

Phantom Black and Yeti Blizzard are more wet than hurt, and they're pretty pissed. All four of them end up waving out. Orihime doesn't care. She just goes back to saying how Ra Mu is being revived. The purple gunk starts rising, overcoming Warrock, who's still unconscious.

Subaru, meanwhile, runs through the city. He catches a quick glance of the Portal, and sees the Kodama docks through it. If he doesn't hurry, Mu will crush it. Meanwhile, Bly desparately launches his gatling fist move (Bly Knuckle) to no effect against Empty, earning him a shock from his black lightning.

Subaru finally reaches the Ra Mu chamber. Orihime doesn't think he can do much, because even though Warrock's now awake, the gunk starts to actively try to drown him. So Subaru dives from the window he's standing on into the muck fifty feet below. Orihime calls him a fool, but something erupts from the morass: Rockman!

Goyoda gets up and shouts how the three OOPArts are giving their energy to Ra Mu, so he jumps over to the Sword of Berserk and tries to pull it out. Orihime yells for Empty to get in here, which he does, dropping Bly to the ground. But right when he's about to strike Subaru, Goyoda takes aim and fires his rifle. It doesn't do anything of course, but it does allow Subaru to pull out the Sword, tranforming him into Berserker Rockman!

But that's not the end of things. The Shinobi OOPArt dissolves and transforms him into Berserker Shinobi and the Dinosaur OOPArt turn him into Berserker Dinosaur. A beam of light flies up to the antenna a top Mu, and when it dissolves, Tribe King Rockman stands tall.

''You...!'' Empty cries, flying up to him and throwing several punches, which do nothing. Roles are reversed as Subaru repells him, and then takes a Thunder Bazooka head on.

Back in Kodama, everyone is still fighting off the viruses with those ridiculous ray guns. Luna tells everyone to get in gear because Hoshikawa-kun's fighting for them. Gonta and Kizamaro pause, and Luna realizes what she just let slip. She embarrassingly insists on Rockman-sama, but glances up to the portal. Be strong...Hoshikawa-kun. she thinks.

Back on Mu, Subaru unleases a multicolored electric sonicboom that blasts Empty with the three elements. He screams and burns up, plummeting to the city below. Orihime witnesses the burning Empty chunks fall by. She loses it and screams in rage.

Yeti Blizzard and Phantom Black decide that now might be the best time to leave, so they wave out to Misora and Cancer Bubble's chagrin. Goyoda walks up to Orihime and tells her that her ambition is finished. He takes hold of her arm and says calmly ''You're under arrest.'' (What he yells all the time isn't his name, it's like the Japanese equivilent of you're under arrest, I've read.) She merely scowls and runs back into the temple, conviently out of Goyoda's reach due to falling debris. When the detective is about to be crushed, Subaru saves him. Now, he and the others are ready to leave.

Utagai starts freaking out as EMERGENCY, DANGER, WARNING, and CAUTION alerts start popping up on the AMAKEN moniter. But it's just Harp Note, Cancer Bubble, Rockman, and Goyoda coming through the portal. But still, things are not over. Ra Mu, a giant, monolithic being, reaches out from within, trying to force itself through the gate and into their world.

Bly appears before it and blasts it with a stream of energy. Since Subaru relieved Ra Mu of the OOPArts, it's not as strong as it could be, so he yells for Subaru to destroy the gate. Subaru's worried about Bly, but Bly says that he believes Subaru can do it. So, Subaru uses the ultimate attack of Tribe King, that tri-element attack, to force Ra Mu back into the gate. Bly adds his own power, and with a burst of light, he, Ra Mu, and the portal vanish. Subaru's unaccounted for, but everyone soon sees him, standing on a higher Wave Road in his normal Rockman form. ''You did it Subaru.'' Warrock says. The boy nods and looks up at the night sky.

Later at the Hoshikawa residence, Akane tells Subaru to hurry up and come with her. Kizuna Wave starts playing, and Subaru says he's coming and almost forgets to bring Warrock with him.

At Satellite Police HQ, one of the policemen asks Goyoda where he's going. ''Oh, just a walk.''

Luna, Gonta, Kizamaro and Tsukasa (Good to know he still exists, and can still speak) are waiting for Subaru outside. He's late, Kizamaro remarks. But no fear, for Subaru and his mom soon show up. Akane's brought some lunch for everyone, and Cancer Bubble runs up to tell them that the show's about to start.

And so, everyone attends a Misora concert. I mean everyone. Subaru, Warrock, Akane, Luna, Gonta, Kizamaro, Tsukasa, and Goyoda.

Warrock slips Subaru's Visualizer over his eyes and points to some other attendees: Jean's ghost, Chiyokichi, Ikuta, Juuro and Himeka, Mayu and Ricky, Utagai, Amachi, and even some folks from beyond the grave. Yes, Crown, Ophiuchus, Libra, Wolf, even Ox are there too.

The song comes to an end, and an elated Subaru thursts his fist into the air.

Ryuusei no Rockman: End
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, what a busy episode. Very well animated too. Empty's destruction was possibly one of the most violent looking things I've seen on this show. I'm still upset at how the anime turned him into little more than a battle-bot, but they kinda hinted that there was more to him with how Orihime completely lost it afterwards, she even had tears in her eyes *coughgamecough*. As for her, she chose to die rather than live in imprisonment. Hyde and Gori, as well as Ghost and Yeti are still at large, but I don't think they'll ever be a threat again now that the OOPArts are gone.

As for the ending itself, it was cute. They finally threw me a bone by cameoing Tsukasa at the end, though I still don't like it how both the endings of the first game and anime season hyped him as one of Subaru's core friends, yet both media dropped him like a hot potato. Luna's finally seemed to accept that Subaru is Rockman, and Goyoda is now a full-time ally.

But yeah, this is definitely the end. The cameo of the FMs and the other minor characters from the first season pretty much confirm that. Still, it was a fun run. Despite some stumbling, when this show got serious, it gave the serious episodes of Rockman.EXE a run for their money, and when the art and action was done well, it blew away pretty much everything that came before it (though granted, it is hard to do a fast-paced fight against someone like Gravityman).

So here's to Ryuusei no Rockman. An interesting and mostly entertaining show. We have the second game to look forward to, and who knows, maybe show may start up again sometime in the future if more games come out? Y'know, when I joined this place during the last quarter of Stream, I never would've thought that I'd be doing summaries like this, especially for the last episode. It's been fun.

Well, so this is really the end. I'm happy to say I quite enjoyed this episode and that the ending in general was satisfying IMHO. The pace was good and it had a real feel-good feeling to it.

This is a worthy ending and although I hoped we would have gotten more episodes, I'm relieved the series has closed in a good way.

Empty's destruction was intense and somewhat unexpected, but I really liked Orihime's reaction and it hints that there was more to him than revealed so far.

I loved the cameo of all the FM's, adding to the one's ComicX6 named, I thought I saw Gemini and slightly visible in a corner, Cygnus as well. It's nice that Luna is warming up to Subaru and that Goyoda is now a full-time ally. Glad to see Tsukasa again as well, they hadn't forgotten about him after all.

A nice, ending episode. 9/10

This was a terrible ending.

Empty's entire reason for existing wasn't even explained...

GAME SPOILERS *READ AT OWN RISK* - Empty is Orihime's dead lover revived as a material wave. That would explain the connection between them.

Just as I predicted, other forms crammed in a few seconds then Tribe King. And they weren't even the real things, they were the Double Tribe On forms.

Was Burai's sudden change of heart even explained? It might have...but it was still a bizarre change...he disappears for a 15 episodes and is like 'DUN WORRY I SAEV DAY :D' Lame.

Art was nice...story was handled horribly though.

Bly's entire reason for existing was explained last week. He's there to prevent Ra Mu from being unsealed. That was why he was after the OOPArts. Now that Ra Mu's back, of course he has to stop it.

As for Empty, as I mentioned above, Orihime tearing up after his fiery demise implies that they did retain his game origins, they just never came out and said it.

After rewatching the ep, and pausing a couple times at the end, I saw them. Gemini is between Ophiuchus and Libra ( but slightly hidden.), and you can see part of Cygnus' neck next to Ox towards the end if you pause at the right time.

Although I am gald to see they haven't forgotten about Pat, his appearance doesn't do much, seeing as it is one for a few seconds in the last episode. With no importance to plot. But eh, at least he finally showed up. Laughing

Overall, this was a pretty good ending. Although it just brought up a whole new question: what sort of plothole was used to bring back the FM-ians from the dead? D:

All things considered, this was an awesomely done ending. Gripe about story inconsistancies and the cramming all you want, but I'm sure little could have been done at this point to handle them, given the situation. I don't feel they needed to tell us Empty's backstory. Sometimes just seeing things implied speak more volumes than words can. The emotion from Orihime and her actions were just as powerful as they would have been if they directly told us her connection to Empty in the anime. And since most of us fans knew anyways, regardless if we've played the game, I don't see the big deal with how it was handled.

As far as the other forms, I think it worked because they didn't give some rushed fight scene with each one of the forms before Tribe King occured. It was like an acknoweldgement that they would have been used had the series gone on the entire year, that the opening wasn't intended to be a complete tease. They had importance, but they weren't going to exploit them in the finale.

Was it the greatest ending ever? Of course not, especially with the 10 minute time...which didn't even use the extra seconds they could have used with the intro and preview cut. :/ And there really wasn't much to Ra Mu. But I'm glad it didn't get all the focus, actually. It was still a great and fitting end for the show. And at least from what I could tell from the quality, Adachi might have done better here than in RnR 26.

I'll probably go nuts with caps later this week, but hopefully I shouldn't take longer than normal to post them. And I'll try to post more of them than normal, along with the zip.

I'm sad that this is it, but I feel this ending was better than Beast+ and RnR Season 1, personally. And who knows, hopefully the penguin show will tank like it should. But Rockman anime as a whole has had a great, long-lasting run anyway you slice it.

Well, this wraps up the Ryuusei no Rockman series until further notice. Regardless of how short this was, I enjoyed it to the fullest. A shame Bly won't be around anymore as it seems.

I guess they didn't bother to make time to add in the rest of the villians from the games. Now what I want to know is whether or not we'll be able to get background music from Ryuusei no Rockman.

I threw a mini tantrum when I saw Tsukasa at the end.

That, sir, is a great understatement. Ra Mu had as much screentime and point to the episode as Bakura did in the second episode of Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged.

I kinda want to guess that Mu's presence revived the dead FM seijin because of its powerful waves or something and the activation of Tribe King, but alas, there is nothing to back up that thought.

Also, I always thought that Gemini would hate Misora and Harp. They always got in his way when he and Tsukasa were ready to kill Rockman. In fact, I would also think that the other FM seijin would ostracize him for, you know. Genocide.

I baaawww'd.
Probably because I've kept track of this series through screenshots and the summaries here after the fifth ep. Nice animation and all, but so short and unsatisfactory. Although I do agree...maybe not as bad as the wrap-up of the first season.

I hope that penguin show that's replacing Ryuusei is fun.

Pity, such a fitting end to a good series. I hope more games come out for Ryuusei in the future.

And then you will die.

I have to admit, despite my angry ramblings over the way Ryuusei was being handled weeks back, when the pressure was put on Tribe really shined. I'm almost tempted to believe that the cancellation was a good thing, because it gave us a decent ending and allowed Tribe to bow out with style.

*clinks milk cartons* Adios, Ryuusei no RockMan. Your beginning was stellar, your middle was rocky, but your conclusion was redeeming. We'll miss you, good friend.

Didn't anyone else notice how Harp no longer exists? She hasn't spoken in a bunch of episodes. And.... uh... WarRock actually... pushed Subaru's visualizer down? How? ... and let alone they revived the FMs, and somehow, all of their hosts showed up during the concert... BUT WHO THE HELL ALLOWED A DEAD MAN IN?

*sigh* D: I love Ryuusei, but why have they been treating it this way? Cross your fingers for this october. MAYBE we'll get a new Ryuusei season. And maybe properly written. Maybe.

That might be nice. A well done maybe 30 minute or at least 15 minute long episode could work. Would there be a third game of Ryuusei?

I really don't think that the attendees at the concert were really meant to be taken seriously. Especially since Cygnus and Gemini, the two most villianous of the villians were present.

Goyoda was the man in this episode. Tried to stop Ra Mu's revival by himself, helped Subaru obtain Tribe King, confronted Orihime, and cheer wildly at a concert? That's 4-for-4 my friends.

I'm doing a lot of frame-by-frame work, so I have a ways to go still. 6 minutes through, about 500 caps done. Probably won't get the zip up until tomorrow. But for now, a sampling of the first half of the finale:

*4/5 EDIT* Part 2:

Tribe Ep. 21 Finale Screencaps (675 Total Caps, ~24 MB) Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PAWY250E

Lots of cool ones in there, even if you have to go through a lot. I went out capping with a bang. Smile

*4/6 EDIT* FINAL BATCH OF SECRETLY EDITED INTO AN EPISODE SUMMARY THREAD PAAANNNSSS!! Crying or Very sad

As I mentioned in my thread at On-Air, after I catch up with some art and editing work, I'll probably go back and do some Beast/Beast+ pans, perhaps the series' before that. Just depends. I know some were floating out there already by somebody else, but I'll try to do more in the future.

Anywho, portals aplenty! Two variations on #16 for kicks, #4 and #20 took some extra work. A little bit of odd auras on #1 and #15 due to how they lit up/changed as they scrolled. But it was the best I could do, all things considered.

That Misora in this ending is from the original Ryuusei series.
