Hope this topic wasnt made. >:X

So guys, what are your favorite music groups and musicians? I'd totally prefer excluding groups existing solely for a game. I could use these ideas for new music. =)

Mine are:
Flyleaf, Angels & Airwaves, Paramore, Panic! At the Disco, The Killers, The Academy Is..., Sugarcult, Bon Jovi, Clay Aiken, Cute is What We Aim For, SHE, Death Cab for Cutie, Fahrenheit, Beyond, Basshunter, and my *best friend* The Red Peace Wink

EDIT:
Man this topic is for your favorite groups, I totally didnt ask what you dont like.

Gosh, this question's always so difficult for me XD But heck, I'll take a shot!

My favourite solo musician has GOT to be Enya. Celtic is just my fav music genre in general. As for bands:

Bands: (Rock/Gothrock) Within Temptation, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, (J-pop) GLOBE, Polysics. Fayray

And I have WAY more bands, but from the top of my head, these are the ones I favor most.

My number one group is the Barenaked Ladies.

Other artists I like: Garnet Crow, Rina Aiuchi, Evanescence, Mai Kuraki, Blondie, Pat Benatar, Maaya Sakamoto, Rex Goudie, HIM, Lisa Loeb, Prozzak, The Moody Blues, Third Eye Blind, Vienna Teng, a-ha, The Goo Goo Dolls, The Calling, Mika, The Killers, ZARD, EXILE and Savage Garden. Pretty much all across the board, haha.

Whoa Izu likes barenaked ladies.(and if any of you don't get the joke I'm conveying here I pity you)

I think for specific bands, Queen and the Beatles are the only ones I listen to alot.

Blink 182 was my favorite band when I was younger, but now the only song I ever listen to by them is a live version of Carousel.

I really do not have a favorite band anymore, but if I had to choose I would probably go with Rise Against.

I listen to a lot of random bands, usually nickelback, muse, marroon5, linkin park, and artists such as Sheryl Crow.

I don't think much of Enya and Nickelback.

Top thirteen (in order): Yes, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Rush, Led Zepplin, King Crimson, Cream, The Beatles, the pillows, Tool, Sparta Locals, Traveling Wilburys, Styx

Sorry. I wasn't attempting to bash anyone's opinions, merely point out my own regarding a couple of musicians.

My favorite group of musicians is the London symphony orchestra/whoever did the music for the Gyakuten Saiban orchestral soundtrack. That soundtrack is golden. Perfect, even. I want to hug each and every violinist. Smile

Uhh. I'm really not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, my feelings are hurt when people like things I don't.

But I digress

...what?

Not meaning to offend you, but that is one of the most inane reasons of logic I've ever heard. If people like things you don't and you get offended over it, you must have some pretty thin skin.

You are fully within your right to express your opinion. But if your opinion is going to be posted in such a way that it looks like you're criticizing someone for their tastes, you might as well not post at all. Discretion is the better part of valor, after all.

That was a joke Sol, and I'm not typically offended by people criticizing me. Especially on the bloody internet. It seems to me someone being offended by me calling music they like "awful" is pretty thin skinned. People can like whatever music they like, but that doesn't stop me from thinking that, from a musical standpoint, that music is bad. I don't quite understand why we can't express negative opinions around here, seeing as how people do dislike things.

If the phrase "_____ is awful" is too abrasive, I'll restate my opinion as "I don't think much of Nickelback or Enya." Will that suffice?

My purpose for this thread is for users to tell the world what musicians/groups they like the most, not for criticism on other's tastes. I think you should just apologize and let the thread go.

Anyways, I've been liking more of SHE's stuff as well as Interpol. :]

*back to the main discussion...*

i'd have to say Linkin Park is my favorite of all time. then there's Sum 41, Billy Talent, Barenaked Ladies, Cake, Disturbed (a little bit), Limp Bizkit (also a little bit), Nirvana, and Wolfmother (yet again, a little bit). then there are random songs that i like.

Im sure all the Guitar Hero 3 players know when I say this, but we all have to have mad respects to Dragonforce, if you ever see those guys live or watch videos and see the stuff their guitar players do to play guitar, it's insane "In the fire and the flames" is just a sample of their shredding metal awesomesauceness!

I agree to that. "Through the Fire and the Flames" is my fav Dragonforce song. It's so insane XD It's just a shame that the singer isn't all that good. In other songs, he pretty much sings bad. No offense though, I really like their music ^^

I don't really like any one group of singer in particular. I usually tend to just like a few songs they made.

However, I do enjoy listening to Gackt and T.M. Revolution.

As for bands, I rather enjoy listening to Lv. 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain.

Also, if we're including classical composers in this topic, Beethoven is definitely my favorite.
