Golden Sun 3?

I've been hearing bits and pieces about this for about 2 months now,but is this for real?Has Nintendo really decided to revive this series?

So far,it's either for the DS or the Wii.Personally,I'd prefer for that to be on the DS.

An image I did find interesting was that it showed the transfer of data to be done by inserting a GS 1 or GS 2 game into the bottom...(The DS version)

So....are we going to FINALLY be able to find out more about Isaac,Mia,Felix and the gang?

Um, no.

The rumors that have been circulating around the net are most certainly fake; especially the supposed "screenshot" which just uses official art from The Lost Age. If have a link to an official source or news, feel free to link it.

Furthermore, I really can't see the original story continuing, considering everything has been concluded.

Well, theoretically they could do a story around Alex being freed from Mount. Aleph, but such a thing would possibly be better done with an entirely new cast of characters much later after the events of the original two games.

whoa, i had a conversation with my friend last week about a Golden Sun DS game [and of course being able to unlock items or w/e via the GBA slot]. too bad those were only rumors ... still. with Chrono Trigger making a comeback, why not Golden Sun?

Well...Chrono Trigger is a remake while Golden Sun 3 would be a new game. Besides Square Enix has an unfortunate history of re-releasing old titles to squeeze as much profit out of them. See the no-less than 5 different versions of Final Fantasy 1 & 2.[/i]

I have to agree with Sol in that they pretty much concluded everything at the end of "The Lost Age" which means that making a sequel would be difficult. Then again Nintendo could always go back and find something so that it can be expanded on to the point where it could be transformed into a third entry.

I remember reading way back about how the Takahashi brothers wanted the Golden Sun games to be a springboard for something bigger.

In October they said that they wanted to make one as well, and Nintendo has given its support.

In April Shugo Takahashi kinda played around that in an interview with Nintendo Power. If I recall, he was like, ''A new Golden Sun... I'd like to play a new RPG too...''

I'd be stoked for another game. It was, and still is, one of my favorite games. Now I'm in the mood to play some GS...
