I do not intend to create a livejournal post or nothing but I do need some advice on this matter. I alwys considered myself to be something of an anime fan but compared to most people (and even this forum), I don't know if I can still keep this title. I have seen my fair share of anime where admittedly I saw most of it either Cartoon Network, HBO, ABC Family, Movieplex, YouTube or some other channel or website and they were mostly dubs but compared to people who actually breath anime and know a little something about the culture, I don't if I can consider myself that. I know a lot about anime I enjoy but I don't if this is enough or anything since some anime I barely finished. I just want to ask is it the quality of what anime ytou know or the quantity? I don't know if this question had been asked but I am asking it and I hope to find some thoughts on this. _________________ Guernsey Adams Pierre

It's different for everyone. To judge someone's level of fandom is in itself silly, because if you're a fan, you're a fan, no matter how much paraphernalia you have to support that.
I would say that it's not really fair to judge how much of a fan someone is by those two standards, either, Quality or Quantity. I myself have slowly waned away from watching a ton of anime, for many reasons, and I read a lot more manga now. I still consider myself an anime fan, and I do enjoy the occasional series, like TTGL.
tl;dr: Anime fans are anime fans, regardless of how much you watch. _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |

I agree. While I've never really bought boxed sets of entire series (all the anime recordings I have are shows taped off of TV), collected much merchandise (essentially limited to Gundam figures I was collecting a few years ago) or delved into much of the stuff beyond what's shown in the mainstream, I consider myself an anime fan.
I think the only real requirement is being able to enjoy watching the shows/movies, or reading the manga, or having an appreciation for the different art styles. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover
